I'm currently writing a novel and, when I hit a really bad slump, I came across this song and it re-inspired me. It speaks to my story so well. Thank you for that 🙏😊
I think it's telling how many aspiring authors gravitate towards this song. The lyrics are like a novel, so well-written...funny enough, I found this song on a romantasy playlist when I was trying to find music to get me in the groove for writing. The part talking about pirating paradise from paintings and being convinced of landmines in the ground....it perfectly describes my dream of becoming an author and my journey with it. I'm afraid of trying because of the pain of failure. But if I don't try, someday it will be "too late" and I'll regret it. Every time I feel like giving up, I play this song! Thank you Maya:)
If anyone had read acotar and acomaf, am I the only one that thinks this fits the journey feyra went through when she was deciding between the spring court and the night court. The by the end of the song is when she chooses the night court and never want to go back
And indeed there will be time To wonder, “Do I dare?” and, “Do I dare?” Time to turn back and descend the stair, With a bald spot in the middle of my hair - (They will say: “How his hair is growing thin!”) My morning coat, my collar mounting firmly to the chin, My necktie rich and modest, but asserted by a simple pin - (They will say: “But how his arms and legs are thin!”) Do I dare Disturb the universe? In a minute there is time For decisions and revisions which a minute will reverse.
Lyrics I came across a forest of unfamiliar trees And a path beyond the fork is, is calling out to me I wouldn't dare I wouldn't dare There is magic in this moment, the rustling of the leaves Do I give into the warning, give up stability? I wouldn't dare I wouldn't dare But what if it is everything I wanted? Everything I said I didn't need When I convinced myself of paradise from paintings I'm better off because I never bleed Two roads (two roads) Oh, and I don't know the way No, I don't, I don't know the way Past the unknown If nothing else would change No, if you promised nothing'd change Then I would take the one less traveled by Why have I been fearing an aching that will fade? Must the sun have reason to make the seasons change? I wouldn't dare I wouldn't dare 'Cause I've built my life around The thought of landmines in the ground Terrified to take a step, even more to make a sound But now I am there So send me a prayer For everything I said I never wanted When I tried to make myself believe That I could pirate paradise from paintings I look ahead now, all that I can see Two roads (two roads) And I don't know the way No, I don't, I don't know the way Past the unknown If nothing else would change No, if you promised nothing'd change Oh, I'll keep the first for another day But knowing way leads on to way I'm never looking back No, I'm never looking back Prayed into my pillowcase Just dreaming of the sweet escape I'm never looking back No, I'm never coming back to Two roads If I don't find my way on my own Then one day it will be too late Source
@@theaterdork2795 Not at all. Its a revisionist mythology of the Goddess Athena and how she became a Goddess. Working title is Athena: Traitor of Olympus, and is planned for a 3 part series focusing on Athena, Artemis, and Hestia 😄❤
Recently discovered this song. When I first read 'the road not taken' even my 13 year old self was prrtty drawn into it, relating it to myself. I think this song captures that feeling really well :)
Hi Maya this is really good. I must ask, I saw your profile on Spotify and it said you were making a musical, is this song apart of this musical and what is it about?

I find this more poetic than the poem it's inspired by.

Disturb the universe?

I love how this song references The Road Not Taken. It is now one of my favorite songs
Yes I love that poem and geeked with this reference

That I could pirate paradise from paintings
I look ahead now, all that I can see
Two roads (two roads)
And I don't know the way
No, I don't, I don't know the way
Past the unknown
If nothing else would change
No, if you promised nothing'd change
Oh, I'll keep the first for another day
But knowing way leads on to way
I'm never looking back
No, I'm never looking back
Prayed into my pillowcase
Just dreaming of the sweet escape
I'm never looking back
No, I'm never coming back to
Two roads
If I don't find my way on my own
Then one day it will be too late
