Ive been a fan since 96 and for most of those years it was kinda an obsession. Every interview, every thread,311 day memphis,311 vegas 2010,at least 30 shows attended in 4 states, you could say i was in the 2nd or 3rd level of the biggest fans they have, all that said,to say this!!! They were great from the start and they are even greater now. I think they had a lull from dtom thru universal pulse, although some great songs in there like "sun come through" or "get down"or "and a ways to go" or "ok now" ect. Stereolithic was great. Mosaic is mostly great and so great in fact,i think theres 6 or 7 of the best songs theyve ever written on there. Voyager was half good imo. I will never miss a show in my area. Love these dudes for all theyve done for me and my whole approach to life really.
You literally have had the exact same experience with this band as me. Although it came in the middle of their down years, I think that Uplifter was an incredible album that gets way too much hate. The one thing they did on that album that will forever piss me off is putting never-ending summer as the eighth track and not the first. I cannot fathom the level of idiocy that went into that decision.
To be honest my friends for a band that’s been here for 33 years this song kicks much *ss straight to the point we’re gonna jam this out. Excited for the new album F the naysayers
🤣😂 I'm sorry....who are you? Surely you've been doing what they do better and longer No? I didn't think so Unless you've done it, then you have ZERO place to criticize. Period. Have a nice day, my friend ☯️
Hmmm no thanks. Sounds like someone else wrote this and 311 is just performing it. Disappointed in the last few albums minus a few select songs, because of ghost writers, collabs with other artists or just down right stealing other artists music and taking the credit. They probably should have called it quits awhile ago. Plus it's been five years since their last album and they've never done that until now. Shows a major lack of creativity and honestly pretty shady creative behavior overall. Oh well at least they gave us Face in the Wind before losing their touch.
The last few albums haven't been that bad and it's absolutely legitimate for any band to keep evolving. Why should we expect another blue album 30 years after it was released? But I agree that I would definitely enjoy them returning to their 311 trademark sound. Let's see. Anything a band is still releasing after 30 years of existence is an encore we should all appreciate. And yes, face in the wind is probably the best song from their more recent albums
