as a geography student, this is actually pretty interesting to me. we had to study about the great barrier reef during our senior year in high school! this is amazing, thank you mclaren! 🧡
This is really such an amazing partnership for such an amazing cause! So proud to be a McLaren fan and so proud of all these people working so hard to work against global warming. Lovely bringing Oscar along too 🧡
Kudos to McLaren for taking the lead in coral reef conservation and climate action! You guys are setting a great example for others to follow. Thank you McLaren and Oscar Piastri for using this platform to raise the awareness.❤️
It’s a cool story and it’s nice to see Oscar get to show off his home country’s natural wonder, but sadly the auto/oil industries that F1 promotes are maybe the biggest contributors to global climate change and sea temperature rise that is causing these mass coral bleaching events. I enjoy watching F1 and am a McLaren racing fan, but man am I conflicted about it sometimes… I guess one of the redeeming things as a McLaren fan is that they seem to partner more with technology companies as sponsors instead of oil companies. Hopefully you guys can continue this trend and continue funding ecological sustainability/awareness projects like this one so more people are educated and get involved.
I justed watched a great video about the new red bull engine they're developing. It'll be partially electric and they're aiming to use it by 2026. It's a matter of time before they'll have no choice but to transition to pure electric. All known oil deposits will run dry by the 2050s but it's also being economically unviable. Petrol will be eliminated and it will be in our life time
Fun fact: they developed fully hydro powered cars back in the 1800s. The only reason we aren't using them today is because the governments would loose too much money 🙄 Like imagine! There'd be no use for petrol or oil, and even electrcity to power cars. You'd just fill it with a bit of water and off you'd go!
@@doomdoomtv316 they are required to by the 2026 engine regs all teams will be doign this. Also F1 cannot become 100% electric for now as Formula e holds the rights to that.
As both a marine biologist and a huge fan of McLaren, this makes my heart so happy to see such a big corporation stick up for mitigating climate change ❤
As a fan of F1 since 97', seeing my passion (I have my own YT channel about corals) from a F1 Team is awesome, awaress is important, the biggest thing we can do is reduce and capture the CO2. I live next to the Circuit Gille Villeneuve, wish I could do something with Mclaren to mix those 2, having a Driver care about this is awesome, thank you.
Well done McLaren. Love this project and to see teams using their technological skills and brilliants to branch out and do good for things outside of racing
as an Australian. i gotta love to see this! i wanna be able to visit our reef and not half of it being dead. you pairing this this foundation will do wonders. :)
This video is so cute! I watched Davids Attenborough´s Netflix documentary and cryed hard for the bleached corals. Love to see some playces that are still good, still I´ve got a little sad after seeing some of the corals dead. I´m sad because I can´t do really anything to help but its nice to see such a big brand actually helping. Big thanx to all of you, that want better lifes not only for us, but for everything living and breathing on this planet ❤❤❤❤
Two thirds of the oxygen we breathe comes from the ocean ... 2 degree temperature rise changes that dramatically. When we're all gasping like we suffer from asthma, it's too late. Good job investing in this project.
It's the opposite. They were told by f1 to take him. If they rejected him, that would be political. Accepting what f1 management wanted was their best course of action. If you want to blame anyone, blame f1.
Proud to support a team that uses their platform to educate people about issues outside of motorsport 🧡🙌
Apart from them ignoring murders in Saudi to make money
@@sozzle600 coral reef more important
Great to see McLaren support this 👏

What do you make of Trump being in a garage? Absolutely disgusting.
As a McLaren fan (and wildlife lover), I loved this.

McLaren is the best team to help with the great barrier reef
Awesome news. Corals are so vital to the earth 🌎
Absolutely fantastic to see!

why do you stop updating McLaren Unboxed?
Where is the soundtrack from Jurassic Park?(
Me too jeff
This took a while to edit & upload!
Oscar wearing a suit with DannyRic number #3, stinger XD
why isn't F1 doing this
Part of this team is getting pissed with a notarius cheating dj , keep him shorter
why not use a solar panel in combination with a submerged charged structure? the corals could get a much better hold on... just brainfarting...
Yes, save the climate. Meanwhile, Trump is in our garagae everyone! Come say hi!! 🤮🤮🤮
FU Mclaren you made yourself political at Miami GP. You promoted a traitor and took a side. Embarrassing.
It's the opposite. They were told by f1 to take him. If they rejected him, that would be political. Accepting what f1 management wanted was their best course of action. If you want to blame anyone, blame f1.
🧡 My team! 😍
This is awesome. I’m so grateful to see my favourite team supporting such an important cause. Thank you 🫶.
