Lovely review! The Sinn 556i has been a grail of mine for years. I finally got it last month and it’s easily my favourite watch in the collection. The clasp doesn’t match the quality of the watch, but the bracelet is very good. It’s also an absolute strap monster!
    Love the T-shirt too!

Congratulations! Yes, it is a great watch and a watch that can stand the test of time while being used each and everyday. Yes, the clasp is not great, but well, the bracelet in general is so solid you can forgive the watch for that. And as you state, you can put almost any other strap and the watch will look awesome. Thanks for commenting!

Always a fan of an exhibition case back. And it still has how many meters of water resistance? That's just fine by me..
For me, a big part of getting a mechanical watches seeing the mechanics, even if it's an outsourced movement, I still like to see and that movement is no slouch.

Of course, to each their own. I believe that tool watches should focus on being tools without having to display anything else but what's necessary, and the 556i being such an example, the exhibition case seems a bit like an unnecessary embellishment. Other superior models don't have that feature. Also, this is another weak spot that could have been avoided. In general, if someone tells me about the movement inside, I will believe them, but yes, they are a joy to watch.
Personally, I feel see through cases less comfortable on my wrist. There's the possibility that glass has a higher friction point than steel, but in general, simple flat brushed back cases feel better.

I own the Sinn 556a rs and if I had to make a comparison I can only say that: The Sinn 556a rs is a watch to wear and use every day without worries. Is it a perfect watch? Surely not. Is it the best watch? No. It ticked all the boxes it hit on my list of the perfect watch, for me. Furthermore, for the price I paid, I can only say that it is worth every penny...It has a particularity that I like above all, compared to many other watches, even high-end ones.... This is a men's watch to use and beat, it will go forward without problems. The rest of the watches? They are jewels to show off... PS: I am not a collector but just a user who has acquired information on this model and I have been wearing it daily for about 4 years now and even now when I look at the time it makes me smile because it is a I like the watch, despite the signs of abuse it has received... Wear what makes you feel good and without worries, it is a watch created to be used and tell the time and it does its job really well...

thanks for telling us your experience. I've always loved the Sinn 556 A RS. Hope to try one sometime. I too like the nonsense nature of the design and the functionality with practicality at its core.

Nice Video. I Love Sinn and the 556i. I own a 144 chrono from 2000. the quality is amazing. in Frankfurt Germany at the Sinn Store, I took the 556i on my wrist. it is amazing. Like you Said - the clasp is not cool. At my 144 I have the Same chunky clasp and i chanche it with a forstner clasp including a stretch Link - its a Dream now.
Hey watchframe- I am still waiting for my Rolex Explorer ;-( :-)

Yes, Sinn offers a lot of quality in a way that nothing stands in the way to deliver a rock solid watch. Thanks for commenting. Hope you get your Explorer soon :)

Don't forget the 200metre water resistance...

Yes, that is just awesome in this watch! Specially considering how thin it is.

Like my Breitling, great pilot bracelet, stamped clasp is a let down.

I don't have much experience with Breitling watches, but sure look nice!
