  • As everyone who watched episode 10 of Davidi Kitai's epic run in the $10,000 6-max event of the 2016 World Series of Poker could see, the stars aligned perfectly for our hero in the crucial hands leading up to the final table. A mixture of relentless aggression, perfect timing and a few good starting hands made for a very tasty cocktail indeed, allowing him to eliminate extremely dangerous players such as Paul Volpe and Vanessa Selbst, and to take a seat at the televised final table with the largest stack. In other words, things couldn't be better for the Belgian Genius at the moment. Will it last? Well, as they say online, it's complicated. Because with contenders like Nick Petrangelo, Justin Bonomo or Chris Ferguson, each of them members of the 8-figure winnings club, this isn't just your average final table.

Sick fold with 99!!! Live tells are a thing!

Yeah, that fold and the hand where he c-bet w 2 overs and a flush draw vs the amateur guy a video or two back and then folded to one normal sized raise stunned me. So careful, and so trusting of his reads. As he should be.

I just want to say I think Davidi is a genius. I've been playing poker for almost 20 years and I learn so much from watching him play. Way more than in any videos of other pros.
I'm stunned that he thinks 25:47 is a rare time for the BB to be bluffing though. The BB knows that Davidi probably has ZERO twos in his range. Whereas for the BB to be facing minraise, with the SB having called too, the BB is getting the right price to call w ANY suited 2. So even if he doesn't have the 2 here he could easily rep it.
So personally, for that reason, I'm almost never folding folding here if I'm Davidi because I almost certainly don't have AK or KK in my range, so KQ is almost right at the top of it. And the BB knows that. So you can't just give him the ability to bluff you off here every time. But more than that I just think it's kind of shocking that Davidi things it's so unlikely the BB is bluffing here. It's kind of a standard bluffing spot, IMO. At least online it is. Live play is usually more conservative. I'd only fold if I thought the BB was a particularly tight player that didn't bluff much. And you wouldn't expect that type of player to even be playing in a $10k 6-max tourney, let alone be able to final table it.

Ha! I posted that before 27:35, where he says basically exactly what I said. If Davidi folds here the BB can always bluff here and it will almost always work. That's why I'd almost never fold this hand. Though it is a unique spot when you're at the final table of a big WSOP event. Bluffing big like this will be way less likely than in a standard tournament, most likely. But then again, that's why the BB could think it would work. (if he is bluffing. still haven't gotten that far yet)

this is an underbluffed spot bc there is no draws on the board. An overbluffed board is where there is 2 of the same suit on the board before the river, or 3 connected cards such as 856xx or J98xx. This is one of the dryest board there is K8226 rainbow before river so if one player puts the other on a King he would not bet it since it is so hard to bluff someone out of a King on this board. The fact Kozlov bets big means he has it, or as Davidi said: if he bluffs then bravo to him it is an insane play.

@@HoangTruong-vk7ek I get all of that, but that's all pretty first level thinking stuff and these guys are capable of playing beyond that. Kozlov may bluff because it's a rare time for a bluff, as Davidi says himself.
In $100+ online tournaments you absolutely regularly see bluffs like this where the BB can have the 2 and the other player is very unlikely to. He's clearly just repping a 2 or better. Basic poker theory 101 says that if Kozlov ever bluffs here Davidi needs to have some hands he calls with. (otherwise his opponent can just do this bluff every time, as Davidi himself admits) KQ may be the absolute best hand Davidi has here if he 3 bets 88. If not it's second best. I don't think he calls 22 in the SB and he certainly doesn't just call w KK or AK as he again says himself. So it's really hard to fold KQ unless you really believe your opponent has absolutely zero bluffs. In a spot where I think it's kind of obvious for a top player to possibly try a bluff since again he's the only one that has 2s in his range.
