Rush Hour Trains at: Milton Keynes Central, WCML, 21/06/19

A very enjoyable rush hour period spent at Milton Keynes Central Train station on the West Coast Mainline where we see countless services from Virgin Trains, London Northwestern Railway, Southern and freight from Freightliner, DB Cargo UK, GBRF and Royal Mail.
The station was built in May 1982 so it really is one of the youngest stations on the West Coast Mainline, the station has seen a couple of redevelopments. Mostly this was throughout 2006 when platform 6 was introduced, this was to allow stopping express trains to use platform 5 in either direction. The other addition was to bring in a new bay platform with platform 2A. This was built for what extension of the Marston Vale Line, but subsequently this never happened and is now used mostly by Southern.
The station hasn't changed all that much since I was last here but hopefully once Great North Western Railway commence opewrations later this year this station will become even more better in terms of the variety of traffic that you're going to be seeing. That's assuming of course that they stick with their plan to use former LNER 225 sets on their Blackpool to London Euston routes.
Like the year previous the station saw an average passenger usage of 6.8 million.

Great video. Normally if you see a ONE container it's from Southampton or gateway and if you see evergreen it's usually from Felixstowe. That's due to different shipping alliances which determines which port they dock at :)

The stations on Marston Vale from Bletchley before Aspley Guise are also in Milton Keynes. Woburn Sands technically isn't but it's in the borough.

Another great video, thank-you sir! Milton Keynes has to be one of the best spots on the WCML for watching all the activity. Leighton Buzzard is more 'intimate' (no ticket barriers either), but not much stops there and the fast platforms are fenced off.

thank you kindly, MK is a brilliant station to come to because it is so open and you get decent views all round, Leighton Buzzard has more of a character to it but you can get to the fast platforms as they have gates that you can manually open

I'll start by sayin' it's a beaut' of a day for it! God above Virgins covered in blood and 66619 running like the Devil... Whatta' day Bruv, that's how I drive in TSW! 390117 was like an ninja pulling in just beautiful and she gave great camera too. 66589 is Beast and with 390117 pulling off with her was awesome. The Wings of Death might have been a good Sub-title for the Film, just sayin'.. Anyways, great sounds and pure habit all day just crazy, way too much I could say. That woman tho... Thanks Bruva!
