Always enjoy your knowledge. Just started collecting CDs and Albums again. I like your diversity. Helps expand my knowledge. You moved things around in your music room.
That U2 album is a bit overlooked, How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb holds up well, it was the last guitar centric album by the band, filled with imaginative arrangements and many monents of sheer beauty! I think the albums that followed grew weaker and weaker, Edge's guitar sonics watered down and songs too poppy and bland. My hope is that all U2 fans give this album a good listening to. Thanks Brendon - appreciate all the invaluable music news!
Thanks for the preview video. Talking Heads 77 sounds as fresh today as it did back in the day. Looking forward to the live stuff which makes reissues so worthwhile IMO. Rock on !
Hey Brendon…as a Canadian, thanks for mentioning the Tragically Hip release. Would love to know how much Hip you have in your immense collection. If the answer is a little then you have some work to do…you won’t be disappointed. Also…new Hip documentary on Prime if you want to learn more about these legends! On a critical note…you failed to mention Opeth release! They are a special band and if you have dismissed them because of their death metal style then suggest you digest their previous 4 albums where they are a smoking progressive/classic rock band. Enjoy!
I recently saw Tesla live, their version of “Walk Away” was great. I think I’ll pick up that record store day record basically for that. I appreciate the info.
Great and informative as usual. About the Cure album for me it's like someone tells me "look, there's an ant walking on the sidewalk", but there are others really interesting, thank you.
Thanks, some good releases next month! Have you heard the reimagined version of Comfortably Numb that recently dropped by Body Count? Hadn't heard of this band before but is with Ice T and listed as speed metal mixed with rap. The reimagined lyrics are excellent and very powerful and apparently David Gilmour really liked them and did some new guitar work for the song. May not be in your wheelhouse but Ice T 's laid back rap style mixed with Gilmour's guitar work is truly mesmerizing and the lyrics bring a powerful message! The new Body Count album Merciless is listed as coming out November 22nd.
Figured it wasn’t in your wheelhouse, that’s fine. I’m not into rap and this song is totally out of left field for me. Sort of like Italian Indian fusion restaurant or fruited sour ale! 😂
Linkin Park, Gwen Stefani, Thompson Twins, George Harrison, Burton Cummings, John Wetton, & Bon Jovi. From RSD The Doors, Kacey Musgrave, Phil Collins, Van Halen, Stevie Nicks plus more.
Great stuff many things coming, I think again RSD held their bigger days to April as to not hurt holiday sales on other music stuff. Obviously not rock but the Thompson Twins one of the best of the 80’s is getting a reissue three cd box of “Into the Gap” their 1984 album lots of great stuff on there. I’m still debating U2 and getting it I probably will get the box though I am getting that stand alone vinyl for RSD my apprehension on the u2 is just more mixes and another live record in this box a lot of this was in some form released during that time period not completely but some on various cd singles in the uk etc… so still will probably get it for the book especially. Believe it or not I’m going for the Linkin Park I never was into them not knocking them but it was that band everyone loved so I just didn’t pay attention and I’ve heard older songs here and there and they are good but I’m blown away by Emily their singer she’s got one of the best female rock voices out there, and I like what I heard so far off this record and another bonus this album is 32 minutes I know people will say tops short but give me good songs and a short album and I find myself returning more and more to listen to full albums when this happens. The Bon Jovi I will get to have but I was not impressed with the bonus stuff when I heard digitally and this release looks very much like an after though by the label for a bands debut especially a band that made a label a lot of money. Right now preparing for a huge 10/25 with queen, tears for fears and Duran Duran all with releases
The kill devil hill album came out earlier. I have a physical copy already, and I got it from Amazon I got it in 2023. I can provide a screenshot if needed.

As an individual you don’t have to use the work Alternative. However, they started as an Alternative Rock band and therefore still are no matter how big they get. 👍

No, I have zero interest in it. I’ll stick with the new David Gilmour solo album.

Hey Brendon, I love the Ratt shirt. Do you mind saying where you got it?

Thanks so much for the Kill Devil tip. Just ordered. I hate digipacks ! The new Sweet CD came out in Japan already and is in a jewel case !
My question is, if Van Zant does decide to tour, will Donnie be able to do a complete tour?
😎👍
Thanks again

Can’t wait for Nickelback and Gwen Stefani - contenders for album of the year!! 👀
Minor point, but wouldn't describe U2 as an alt rock band. No need for the alt part as, imo they are a mainstream rock act.
Biggest band in the world after the Stones!
