Polo must be sincere with himself and sometimes accept certain facts. I was privileged to watch him. He was good but the like of mathematical Odegbame, abdul kareem razak, kalusha bwalya were superb. Razak won the player of the tournament on merit and not lobby.
Did you watch him play? The fact that Abdul Razak won the African footballer of the year does not make him better. Infact Polo was injured and left the Black Stars and wasn’t part of the team that went on the training tour in Brazil and was replaced by Kuntu Blankson but Gen Acheampong personally intervened and forced him into the team. So a half fit Polo played the tournament and still came in 4th. Odegbame who came in third was himself surprised that he came ahead of Polo. Comparing Kalusha to Polo shows you know nothing about football.
AGYEMANG PREMPEH was injured by OTI AKENTENG. Alhaji, the cup is displayed @ the national museum. On unable to win africa's best footballer in 1977, its unfair to blame Hearts. If Hearts had won the cup, probably he could have won it. He got injured in the 1st leg and did not play in the 2nd leg. Even although won it, & Papa Camera was on fire, he was 2nd. I don't think Kalusha Bwalya was playing football in 1977 for him to place 5th after Polo.
