    Thank you, still an extremely helpful video in 2024.

    Must say, one of the best “pull outs” I’ve seen in awhile!

    Would love to see the rest of the installation for the install. You are the only one that has posted anything on the "intake pipe" installation. Looking forward to the next video!!!!!!

      @@ohioplowboyhawk6738 just an FYI the block off plate that I got for the exhaust manifold was not thick enough to only use one gasket. If you add a washer it will take up the space to get a good fit.

    As a University of Oregon fan I am utterly captivated by your glorious green and yellow tool box, I need that! I assume that was a custom job putting together two US General's tool boxes with different skittles colors?

      No the toolbox was made by storlok in Kankakee Illinois 100% made in the USA👍👍👍👍

    Someone told me that you can just disable the EGR through the ECU flash upgrade process, and then you don't even have to physically remove it. Why not do it that way?

    • @ohioplowboyhawk6738
      @ohioplowboyhawk6738  4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Yes you can.
      Butt you still have to put in the block off plates .
      I think it makes it look so much better without all the hose and bracket so I pulled it all out.

    How about a follow up after you reinstall everything?

    what was the purpose of recirculating the exhaust gas with the EGR in the first place? what benefit was it supposed to give? improved mileage? better emissions?

    • @ohioplowboyhawk6738
      @ohioplowboyhawk6738  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      An EGR purpose is to re circulate part of the exhaust gas for admissions purposes

      @@ohioplowboyhawk6738 hmm, so that EGR was improving the emissions at the cost of reducing engine life? Is that what usually happens with an EGR?

    Brother you need to replace any gaskets that you reused immediately. I'm a diesel mechanic believe me that style gasket is not reusable (no gasket is especially not the crush type) and you absolutely never reuse intake gaskets (egr included) I'm 99 percent positive you have a vaccum leak and dont even know it. Even if you somehow managed to put that gasket back on it its correct orientation (you don't know because it fell to the floor) and even if thay backing plate was 100 percent identical to the EGR pipe (it's not no two components are completely and 100 percent machined perfectly the same) you would still run high risk of a vaccume leak. Replace the cheap gaskets man.

      Basically I feel like I just watched you do an injector swap and reuse the crush washers from the old ones.... lol I'm not harping on you I get It these are common mistakes and misconceptions and it happens all the time but I'm telling you what's right and why. It's up to you if you choose to take it in and utilize the information.

    Someday, a drop in electric motor kit that gets rid of these old band-aids for fossil engines. All this Dr. Suess plumbing goes away.
