mm, yeh :) he does, in an interview i remember him saying he uses bits and pieces of his own personality to make his characters :) so its no wonder he dresses like punpun
He takes a photo and edits it in photoshop if he wants to make more "complex" backgrounds or areas in which he's not allowed to enter/take photos, he renders them manually in a 3d software don't know exactly what software he used but he was at one point sponsored(?) by Unreal Engine sooo maybe that's what he's using?
No, Asano makes his own backgrounds. First, he takes tons and tons of pictures of cities, rooms, etc. then passes it to his computer, and after that he draws his characters to fit the background composition, to then desaturate the image (turning into a b&w image) and begin adjusting it until he is satisfied, to then print it, draw the characters, to finally re-touch the background with his pens and so on, as to make it look more mangish. That's his process, to put it simple hahaha. So, no CGI or done by his assistants. All background done by himself.
Am I the only one that noticed he is dressed exactly like Punpun?

Inio Asano wrote punpun to see what it would be like if he was at his worst. Well that's how I see it because I once saw an interview of him.
he's 40 but looks like he just turned 21
