You mentioned 500 years, Poland was officially formed / united as a country in 966. Yes, there were various names, but the same country and the nation. The period Poland lost its independence was between 1795 - 1918 (123 years). Poland was then partitioned by Russia, Prussia (today's Germany) and Austria. By the way, it's interesting channel and I'll watch more of your videos. I'm curious about your experience in Poland 🙂I like Chopin music in the background 👌
Poland has many castles, many of them are renovated, many are in ruins and some are in private hands. I hope you will be able to see the majority of them. Thank you for the video.
Jesteś blisko kurortu Karpacz. Przepiękne miejsce - warte zobaczenia, w tym świątynia Wan. Bardzo dobra baza hotelowa. Wiele restauracji i kawiarni. Wyciągiem warto wjechać na górę Kopa - widok zapierający dech.
The sons of Princess Daisy and John Henry XV fought against Hitler. John Henry XVII in the British army, and Aleksander in the Polish army. In the years 1945-1946, the Soviet army was stationed in the castle, which constantly devastated the building. The collections of the Majoracian Library in Książ (over 64,000 volumes) were also plundered. Probably most of the copies were exported to the territory of the then USSR.
That's great information. I did hear something about the library being plundered. They still have a few books that they found. I also read that some locals turned some books in to the castle. 👍🏰📖
0:45 Fun fact. The tree on the right is a redwood given by the US ambassador to the Hohberg family in the 19th century. He donated a small seedling. It's a pretty big tree now. If nothing happens to it, it will one day be the oldest sequoia in Poland. It may outlast this castle and our entire civilization.

Seems that my previous comment disappeared, so once again. If you are thinking about visiting Malbork castle there will be a big event called "Oblężenie Malborka" which you can look up on youtube. It is starting in two weeks, from 21 to 23 July.
@@TravelAddictGuy Yeah, it is a bit far, like 5 hours on a train from Wroclaw, but I think it is totally worth to consider it as it is once in a lifetime experience. From 22 July to 13 August there is also "Jarmark św. Dominika" one of the biggest street market events in Europe starting in Gdansk that you can also consider on the way back :)
TAG, I have heard a rumor, that there are more Spanish language students in Poland than in the United States, that Spanish is the number one foreign language study in Poland, rivaling English. Can you confirm or deny? Also, Poles are returning from Ireland back to Poland where, apparently, there is a ton of construction work and pojects going on. Poland is developing the rumor of becoming the next powerhouse in the EU, even challenging EU laws in their own courts and such.
I've talked about the growth of Poland in some of my videos. I do think that Poland is a rising power, with a youthful population. I don't know the numbers. But I have encountered a decent amount of Spanish speakers in Poland.
I cannot understand that foreigners are so surprised that Poles in Poland speak Polish. When we, Poles, find ourselves in the USA, England, Ethiopia or Egypt, we are not surprised that they do not speak Polish there. There they speak English, Ethiopian, Arabic. This determines the average level of intelligence and rationality. Foreigners, realize once and for all that Polish is spoken in Poland. As a courtesy and to make your life easier, learn a few words in Polish before you come to us, please don't be ignorant and lazy. Thank you.
I have traveled extensively and realize that Polish is spoken here. I am speaking to travelers, who need to know that english is not so available as it might be in Warsaw, Wroclaw or Krakow. I am trying my best to speak some Polish, it's certainly not easy. Dziekuje.

One of the most beautiful castles in the world. And someone who says that Poland is boring probably doesn't like Poland or has never been to Poland.

Silesia and the Książ Castle fell away from Poland in the 14th century, so it's been here for 500 years.
