Hi there, many thanks for watching. No, unfortunately we did not visit Saltburn-By-The-Sea, although we did drive very close to it.....damn! Thanks for the info and recommendation, it's very much appreciated. Wow, I never knew that the 'mighty' David Coverdale lived there!! I am a big fan of his, amazing voice! A small world indeed. I've marked Saltburn in our travel journal to visit in the future, the next time we're up that way. Many thanks again, it's much appreciated. All the best, Tony (and Claire).....Whitesnake fans!
A fabulous part of the country which many people bypass opting for the lakes instead. We love it. If you havent been yet Durridge bay and Bamburgh castle is well worth visiting

What a lovely place Whitby is. Not sure if I could do the steps I’m waiting on two hip replacements. Looked a lovely place though. Hopefully Claire wasn’t feeling poorly for long ♥️👌
Hi Liz, many thanks for watching. Yes, the 199 steps would give anyone's hips a good work out, that's for sure. Good luck when you finally have your operation and hope all goes well. When you're fully recovered, then maybe visit the steps lol...from the top. Definitely worth a visit, Whitby is a great place. Many thanks again and all the best.
Another excellent video Guys,I'll be up Whitby way in my camper 13th August for the regatta and it's also the last time the red arrows fly over there as they are disbanding this year. Glad Claire is well again. Cheers
Hi there Kevin, many thanks for watching and for leaving the comment. Ahh, have a great time in Whitby when you get to it and enjoy the Reds. Many thanks again and all the best. Safe travels when you get to them our friend.
We visited last week for our fish and chips! I,m just north of Whitby in Saltburn by the sea and it,s very popular with day trippers, another beautiful little town, I love living here.
Hey up Pauline, many thanks for watching and for leaving the comment. Ah, not far from where we were, a great area and very picturesque. We must explore more of the North of England! Many thanks again for your support, it's very much appreciated. All the best, Tony and Claire.
We love following your adventures and Whitby is one of our favourite places .Have you been to the Yorkshire Dales , Grassinton , Malham , Hawes , Kettlewell , Dent , far too many places to mention., but a photographers dream .Enjoy x
Hi there Gillian, many thanks for watching and for leaving the informative comment. We've put your recommendations into our journal for a future visit, thank you very much!! Take care and all the very best, Tony and Claire.
Whitby, a fantastic place, and the surrounding area's, only 30 miles away from me ( i live in Stockton on Tees) As a kid i used to run up and down the 199 steps :-) not now though, way to tiring :-) Looking forward to seeing your travels in the beautiful North East
Yes, a fantastic place indeed, we were pleasantly surprised. We did see a few youngsters running up the steps, it made us tired just watching them lol, yes, way too tiring! Many thanks again for your support, it's very much appreciated. Take care and all the best. Tony and Claire.
Many thanks Malkie for watching and we hope this finds you well buddy. Yep, the UK is a stunning place, a relatively small landmass but has a lot of diversity, brilliant for exploring. Many thanks again and all the best.
First Whitby! Then my home county, Northumberland..!?!? I can't believe it! Anyway, you should try Whitby in the winter.... We find it way better than the summer. It - put simply, has a different feel to it. And if you time it right, you can join in with the 'Whitby Goth Weekend'...! 😉 Get well soon Claire though! Wife had Crohns, so I know what you's are going through...
Hi Chris. Yep, Northumberland was great! Yes, a few people have recommended the Goth weekend, sounds very....interesting, one for the bucket list, that's for sure. Thanks for the tip about visiting in winter, we'll hopefully try it out one day. Claire is all better now (thanks for asking). Sorry to hear that about your wife, horrible condition. Many thanks again for your support and taking the time to leave the comment. Take care and all the best, Tony and Claire.
Hey up Geoff, thanks for leaving the comment. Yes, a great area to explore and slightly off the beaten track. Claire's all better now, many thanks for asking. Take care and all the best, Tony and Claire.
Your only 30 minutes drive away from me at kielder. I can sympathise with Claire , I've suffered from I.b.s for 30 years. Tablets don't work .... tried them all. You just have to take the good days with the bad. Some days you can eat creamy sauces and pastry and dairy and be fine .... another day you have these foods you have pains like you are being cut open with a segregated knife !! Chin up Claire your not alone girl 😊💪. Another great video folks and thank you very much for the mention. Love you guys so much 😊🤝
Hi Steven, thanks so much as always. Yep, IBS is a terrible thing to live with, especially as know one truly knows what triggers the pain receptors. Claire says thank you and 👍❤️. Hopefully they will find a cure someday!! You're more than welcome for the shout out, your comment on that video put a smile on our faces haha, brilliant!! You take care buddy and all the best as always. Much love back at ya! 👍❤️🥃
Love Whitby - we visit every couple of months to get our fix. Never seen it as quiet as it was for you though... mind, it's a couple of hours' drive for us and we never get up mega early! You should try visiting during Goth Weekend - a great atmosphere, with lots of fabulous outfits on show (The steam punks are my favourites). I'll leave you with this thought: "You can allus tell a Yorkshireman, but can't tell 'im much!" Take care.
Hey Paul, many thanks for watching and for leaving the comment. Ahh, thats interesting about the Goth weekend, we bet it is a spectacular; one for the bucket list! Hmmm, thanks for the thought, we had to 'Google' it lol!!! Many thanks again buddy and all the best. Tony and Claire.

Arghh, no, we must have missed them Ross! By the time we'd climbed the steps, Claire wasn't feeling too good so we headed straight back to the van. One for next time! Many thanks for watching and all the best.
Thanks for sharing and what a shame for Clare to become unwell. Hopefully she will recover soon. ps. my partner was misdiagnosed with IBS for some time until she went totally gluten free . After further tests she was correctly termed as a coeliac. By adjusting her diet she, within a fortnight, fully recovered and began to regain her optimum weight. Maybe Clare ......(?)
Hey up, many thanks for watching and for leaving the comment. Yes, Claire has had numerous tests on hospital but to no avail unfortunately! Glad to hear that your partner got diagnosed, brilliant and nice to hear! Many thanks for watching and for taking the time to leave the comment, it's very much appreciated. Been 30 years since I was there! Must get back… Robin Hoods Bay was great as well as I recall. I had a caravan the last time I went to Whitby I suspect doing the 199 steps in my 20’s was easier than trying it in my 50’s I’ll be blowing out my arse if I try it now 😂
Haha, you 'aint' that old yet buddy, you'd be able to take the steps two at a time lol!! Yes, definitely go back, I doubt much has changed, but we'll worth a visit. Thanks for watching, we'll catch up on yours when we get better 4g. Take care.
@@RickandHeather Yes mate, it does get hard you're right. When you turn TH-cam on it's normally to upload lol. Take care both and yes, it would be great to meet you some day, preferably travelling in the same direction lol. All the best.

It's not a hundred steps , it's definitely not 204 , it's definitely 199 , I've counted them on several occasions . You need to be in Whitby over the Goth weekend , what an eye opener and certainly not what you would expect . Being a bit northern we've been there several times so know it well and you've showcased it beautifully . Again we have things in common , Sylvie also suffers from diverticulitis , a severe form of IBS and occasionally ends up in hospital on a drip for two or three days , so we can sympathize with you both . Anyway , great vlog , and Sylvie says , Claire , never pass a toilet and never trust a fart , take care both .
Thank god you counted them Ken...we trust you! Claire lost count and I forgot to start lol!!! Yes, someone else on here has mentioned the Goth weekend, definitely one to put in our bucket list!! By the way, Claire totally wet herself when she read your comment and the message from your Sylvie, bloody brilliant buddy! Hope you are both well. Same, take care both. All the best...LMAO!
