If I may ask, how did you make this? how long did it take? and ofc epic cover, super great job and unlike some other midi covers its not harsh on your ears
I used a music making site called beepbox, mostly used chip waves and just added a bunch of effects. And I mostly had to use songsterr for accurate tabs for each instrument because I'm not doing allat by ear. Took around 2 months. Actually, you can see for yourself tinyurl.com/298d3cl2
Mix is a bit low heavy and the vox/leads don't sit on top enough for my taste but it's still pretty coherent. So nice to have a real stab at the drums, and some slides for the vocals. SO glad to not be hearing the millionth goddamned "8 bit remix" video by someone who discovered GXSCC and Metallica MIDIs from the 90s. This shit has to be handcrafted to be done justice.
@@ManallLockhart yeah, I was replaying it straight from the speaker so I turned the bass all the way up. Was so damn disappointed listening with earbuds for the first time and it sounding like a shitty 2014 bass boosted remake. Hopefully I improved since then and didn't go too much in the opposite direction and having an ajfa moment.
@@Walrusette Either way, there is great attention paid to the arrangement + lots of split second harmonies/fills that translate perfectly to this sound. I imagine there're a few other records that would sound fantastic like this.
Games that would perfectly suit each song Battery - Wizard of Wor Master of Puppets - Outrun The thing that should not be - Double Dragon Welcome Home (Sanitarium) - Bubble Bobble Disposable Heroes - 1942 Leper Messiah - Ghosts n Goblins Orion - Barbarian Damage Inc - Last Ninja (Dungeons Level)
@@antonivihersalo4074 really wish I could. The fact these are covers, and I didn't compose them, I don't want to possibly get into legal trouble. Plus, all the other requirements for Spotify uploads, as well as paying for a distributor, it's a lot. Deeply sorry.
There's an app called "sandbox pixel art coloring" and they have an option to pixelate anything from your camera roll. So, I just screenshot the cover and do it there. Kinda cheesing it, but it is still tedious.
An 8-bit Metallica game would go perfectly with this
yeah like doom or smt lol
Basically Doom

@Walrusette PIN THIS
Thank you soooooo muchhh
who knew a bunch of crunchy lil beeps and bops could go so hard?
Eye of the beholder would sound crazy in 8-bit
and harvester of sorrow also
Finally someone made an accurate 8 bit drum track for disposable heroes and Orion
It perfectly fits in Quake or Doom 1993))
Not Quake lmao
I feel like orions interlude is perfect in this style
I really enjoy how The thing that should not be sounds. Like evil soundtrack from 90s game, very atmospheric
Master Of Puppets sounds so good!
Dooms gate 1993
Here before this gets a million views.
this is so good
this is gonna go viral
Metal is perfect for 8-bit music
You need to do the entirety of Ride The Lightning next
I agree
The thing that should definitely be
The thing intro reminds me of DOOM soundtracks for some reson and i LOVE it❤️🤘🏻🤘🏻
The reverb settings alone separate this from the standard 8-bit cover versions. Well Done!!
Disposable heroes part before and after solo went crazy🤘
God, the money i would spend just to hear this on an actual gba...
I momentarily misinterpreted the title to mean that this would just be the standard album but with an 8-bit inspired ALBUM COVER (as in the artwork)
Same
This is great everything about it is perfect. Next can you make the entire album of ride the lightning or kill em all
I'm here before It went viral.
why can i actually imagine going through like the spider mastermind fight from doom with orion playing
Disposable heroes does not fail to deliver an absolute spine chilling banger

GOES HARD🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
im putting this in my 8 bit game
that’s gonna be so sick
Lepper Messiah is a must to have there, the slower songs are perfect for games
I think you should ask before doing that
@@derricksquared Yes i would ask, but im not putting this in a 8bit video game.
Excellent work! Can you do And Justice for All next?
now thats a bass we can hear :P
Worth every minute.
