The end result looks great though and really showcases your voiceover and editing talents. Demon's Souls Remake was a special game for me, as it was for you and so many others. It's sad that player activity has died down but I hope we were able to capture some of what made the game memorable in this video.

I'm really glad that Demon's Souls got a remake that let so many people finally experience it, but i have my issues with it that make me overall prefer the original. I never even considered having someone voice my scripts. Sounds like it would've saved me so much trouble... Awesome of you to do that for dun_beatle!

Original is so much better. Bluepoint took away nearly all of the atmosphere. And the shit they did to the art style...they knew nothing about the game they were working on. Maybe they were paid to do the job a certain way and that's what they did, who knows

When I was a little kid demons souls on ps3 was my first souls game but it was far too difficult for me, last year I played demons souls remake and I fell in love with souls for the first time. It and the ps3 version have my favourite lore, world snd enemy design and some of my favourite moments and areas of any. DSRemake is of the most important games I’ve ever played.
I'm glad you love it! I only got into FromSoftware games a few years ago, but now they're my favorite games and I adore Demon's Souls. I could play anytime and find enjoyment.

This Game means the world to me. I was out of gaming since the game cube era... Right before covid i got a xbox one to play the resident evil remakes but was not wowed really.. i was following the new consoles and was gonna get a xbox series. The day ps5 was announced that it would be up for sale the next day... i was on reddit and someone posted that walmart dropped em early... has some extra income and said fuck it. they sold out instantly... i had the idea that if walmart did it.... so would others and... other did and i scored a launch ps5 from target. Before it even came.. one day i decided to buy a game for it and i dunno why... i think i saw some footage... but i picked up demons souls. Dude i fell in love... after 100% i picked up ps3 and played the og. Plus all the other souls games and even took part in the elden ring network test. Anyway i even own the import copys including the deluxe edition and black phantom. Anyway i never forget the first i was invaded. i finally beat phalanx and was happy to get my health bar back lol... i had no idea what was going or the mechnics... iam messing around at the 2-1 and some red dude come outta nowhere (must have missed the invasion message). he kills me and iam pissed, i had no idea what happend lol so i do alittle research and i figure out what happend so i decided to do that same and invade someone and kill them lol. i was so upset but so interested in the online system... like its awsome... as mad as i was.. i was more drawn in to the the pvp.
Nice pick up from Target! I was literally sitting their with like 8 windows open on multiple devices when the PS5 launched. I even physically went to Target and waited from about midnight until open. They had 5 to sell and I was 7th in line lol... eventually got mine from a GameStop drop online. Had to buy a bundle, but didn't care by that point. I used to be terrified of invasions because it was such a foreign concept to me. I personally like the DS3 PvP the best. It has the best combo of good locations for PvP, the best covenants for PvP and the most balanced combat. Still a few broken weapons, but nothing compared to Demon's Souls and Elden Ring. I love hearing stories like yours of people that played the Demon's Souls remake then went back and played all of the others in the series. Once you get invested in these games, it's hard to play others! Although, I do like plenty of other games outside of FromSoftware.
@@GhostRiposte yeah I just introduced a guy who I would consider kinda “casual” not saying Iam not.. but Iam pretty open minded… shit Iam playing world of horror rite now… I got him to play elden ring and he hated it.. I understand I hated sekiro at first (prolly top three games now).. I told him keep with it.. he beat margit and hasn’t looked back lol it’s all we talk about now.. I convinced him to play demons souls by selling him on the graphics… sadly I think the obscure mechanics and lack of jumping I think made him put it down.. plus the Health bar thing… he literally made it right before the cling ring and died on the steps lol.. he said when he spawned back at the fountain he had enough.. anyway before souls games I was a survival horror guy… I imagine I’ll have 20 windows open when the ps5 pro comes out.. maybe not.. iv since built a healthy pc… but I wouldn’t have if I didn’t score a ps5 and since the n I really only use my consoles for bloodborne and demons souls… the occasional kings field.. yes I got all of them too lol

I'm glad he liked Elden Ring, but yea, going back to Demon's Souls player movement is pretty tough after Elden Ring unless you're obsessed with the series. A lot of these games are just about gaining some confidence and understanding how the systems work. With a little bit of practice they aren't as difficult as people make them out to be. I'm sure when the Elden Ring DLC comes out, I'll re-examine that thought though lol... funny you say, I actually have a gaming PC, but rarely used it. I'm so institutionalized to console lmao... just what I grew up with I guess.

Untill I got a high refresh rate monitor.. before that it was hooked up to my tv but it basically sat unused up untill then and it took for armored core to come out and for me to use it mostly because that game runs at 120… then I realized how much better games look even at 1080p… do you have a patreon.
I know it's a bummer, it's pretty hard to co-op now. I haven't tried for a few months, but last time I did I couldn't find anyone. I hope you still enjoyed your playthrough!
With comparing Demon’s Souls and Elden Ring, you can see how unhinged Miyazaki truly was. Definitely over time, you can see how modern conveniences have smoothed out the edges of the Souls games.
Really like the remake, but I'm sad that they disrespected the original soundtrack. It's cool that they recorded them with a full orchestra but they should have kept all the original compositions imo, some melodies were really memorable and fit the atmosphere much better.
Hey Riposte, don’t call me a cheapskate, but if demon’s souls is a remake that was released almost 4 years ago, then why is it still 70 dollars? Especially after being outclassed by Elden ring for 60. I heard people say it’s a subjective matter, but who won game of the year in its respective year?
It's sad that Sony has certain games HARD locked down and out of reach for anyone who doesn't have a Playstation. Exclusives are a thing but we will still say fk them
I didn't like the remake at all. I played the original in 2021 and it became my favorite souls game. I managed to platinum it just before my ps3 gave out. When I got a ps5 last year I was excited to play it, but almost immediately it felt off to me. The remake is too cinematic. What I mean is that the offset camera makes controlling your character feel weird. The visual effects for weapon elements are too much. The worst is the remade music which sounds much more generic and to me does not come close to the original. I'm sorry to say that if Bluepoint had just ported the original game over and made no changes it would have been much better in my eyes.
I definitely get that. I know a lot of people that loved the atmosphere of the original and feel the expanded more exuberant color palette of the remake kind of killed a lot of that. I played the remake first, so that's what I fell in love with. I have since gone back and played the original and will say I think the rawness of the OSTs fits much better and is much more memorable, especially Tower Knight/Penetrator and Maiden Astraea.

Im contemplating getting a PS5 just for this game. I just started playing Demons Souls 2009 and loving it. Obviously Im a little late to the game.
When I was a little kid demons souls on ps3 was my first souls game but it was far too difficult for me, last year I played demons souls remake and I fell in love with souls for the first time. It and the ps3 version have my favourite lore, world snd enemy design and some of my favourite moments and areas of any. DSRemake is of the most important games I’ve ever played.

i played on august and almost couldn't find any coop or invasions except in the monk boss.... after waiting 3 years to finally get a ps5 :(

I think the remake is fine but It lost the charm of the original.
