This decade capacitor box is built with two types of capacitors:
    1. Smaller ones (ССГ) - use mica film as dielectric, have very high stability.
    2. Large ones (МПГО) - polystyrene film capacitors, these are also very stable but additionally have very low DA. Soviets used them in calibrators and voltmeters as integrator elements.

You still have the "Capacity" to amazed that after all those years being upside down and down under you can still count down from ten to one. :-)
Nice bit of old school kit, built to survive a UPS delivery.

Looks like part of Doc Brown's amplifier in BTTF!

Looks like an old telephone switchboard. 🤠

I would have installed SPDT switches where the shorting connectors were, with the off position discharging the cap through a resistor.

Doing that had crossed my mind, but it would have been hard to actually do it, and it could have upset its operation from stray capacitance, which is why I elected to try and keep it original.

Looks like it's built to survive a nuclear attack lol.Did you manage to repair the dents on the bottom panel?

Yep, I forgot to show it.

Why would you CHOOSE to use aluminium wire to make any removable plugs? Such a brittle wire! I would also be tempted to buy a small bar of PTFE and make up extra separators for the more vulnerable busbar crossovers. The added capacitance would almost certainly be negligible compared to the existing capacitance via the case (unless this has already been cleverly compensated for!).

I have to use the wire for something, and this is it, at least it is getting rid of it. if it breaks it is easy to fix too. It is not like this is going to get lots of use.

Do you sell repaired equipment on ebay ?
You must have tons of it

Not on eBay no, items which I only purchased to make a video about fixing get listed on a site called TradeMe which is used in NZ.
