you know it's impactful when someone who doesn't know his name goes from just utterly confused to absolutely devastated in a single sentence
Well dragon ball is technically the only anime Brian had ever watched
Yes he watched it as a kid@@shadowmahesh9876
@@shadowmahesh9876 Yeah Brian is what we call an "anime tourist" only watching the big name stuff. There is lots of obscure stuff out there waiting to be watched.
@@zabimaru102011name some good ones, ive mostly watched the big ones with a few exceptions
I could *_FEEL_* that gut-punch at 0:32 , man...
Toriyama was a very private person, and I personally haven't even heard his voice and I've been watching Dragon Ball for over a decade. It's understandable that you wouldn't recognize his name, but when you find out who he was everything changes. Rest in peace Akira Toriyama, you were the legend that forged legends.
Same
So true.
His voice is recorded in his cameo as Toripo in the game Blue Dragon
Well Spoken! I couldn’t agree more! 💯🫡🙏
RIP to the father of anime, when I woke up in the morning and found this out, it was a sad day
He wasn't the father of anime.
Bro thinks dragon ball was the first and only anime
Maybe not anime as a whole but modern shonen anime definitely @@CaliCalv
@@SerialDesignationM3094 He put anime on the map. He's the step father at least.
@@bloodline_NZL*godfather of manga + anime
Dragon Ball broken the international barrier, and impacted loads of ppl
RIP the Legend ...
Oh really? Two words: Astro Boy.
@@SerialDesignationM3094 astro boy is not nearly as impactful. Most people don’t even know that was the first anime in America. Dragon Ball created the community that it became today and that’s just facts.
@ZANDACROSS7 The explain why the robot genre is still booming? MegaMan being one of those that took inspiration from Astro Boy amigo?
Dragon Ball did a much better job at popularizing manga worldwide bro...@@SerialDesignationM3094
@@SerialDesignationM3094nah DragonBall def had a larger impact, astroboy was a start for it, but DragonBall was the great flood.
Brian is not even that into anime but even he grew up on Dragon Ball
I feel a lot of us were like that. Watching anime not knowing it’s anime. Just another cartoon they’ve put on TV. Like Pokémon
@@Ar1fHussa1npretty much the only two shows that so popular that they don't count as ''anime'' because of the impact they have on culture & entertainment
@@kensei1912 also as little boys dbz is very entertaining, watching all the dudes fighting and training its very cool.

The fact he felt bad for not knowing his name, legend
Toriyama is a private person, so it's understandable why some fans don't know him
You guys will never understand how big Dragon Ball is on Latin America. Everyone here is heartbroken. Rip to a true king, the grandfather of anime. Without him there would be no One Piece, no MHA, no JuJutsu Kaisen, no Demon Slayer, nothing. Its all thanks to him.
As someone who visited Japan when studying abroad I was expecting more DBZ stuff I really had to look for it. But when I go to Mexico when visiting family DBZ is EVERYWHERE. It’s super famous in Latin America. I’d argue more than Japan.
Bro, everyone who has ever been in the DB fandom knows how absolutely over the top nuts you guys are about it, lol. It's kinda a big meme.
Everybody loves Akira Toriyama for DB and DBZ but don't forget his other creations, Dragon Quest / Dragon Warrior (for the Nes), and the XB 360 Exclusive game "Blue Dragon". and "Sand Land" (manga)
He gave up drawing Manga after he lost his favourite pen after finishing up Sand Land and the new one didn't feel the same way. So he used that as an excuse to for hardly drawing any manga (A Very Toriyama thing to say xD)
He revealed this while giving his thoughts about the Sand Land manga getting an anime film adaptation.
also chrono trigger he designed the characters.
I thought he stopped doing manga because it was becoming too hard on him, so he just became an overseer and guides both toei animation and toyotaro where to take the series next.
Thank you for mentioning his other works. Too many people only think of him as the creator of the Dragon Ball franchise. It's sad that they don't even acknowledge his other works.
He was a good man I imagine may he rest in piece and very passionate about his work and I will admit I didn’t really knew about him too much but I imagine he loved what he was making R.I.P Akira💔
The background music went perfect here. RIP Akira Toriyama.
Persona right?
@@qfz9386 yeah persona 5
@@qfz9386 Correct. The song name is Alleycat.
Shonen Jump Animes should do a crossover episode where all Shonen Characters meet for a funeral or something. (Would be hard to pull off but would be a good tribute)
Any tribute would be an awesome tribute. I was saying in another video, I'd really like to see people make tribute to him in games and shows. It'd be awesome to see him immortalized in a game.
So many creators from our childhood are passing and my heart just goes out to the families 🥺💛
RIP Akira Toriyama. Me and my brother use to watch DBZ all the time when were young.
If it wasn’t for Akira Toriyama Anime wouldn’t be as popular as it’s been nowadays, a true legend in the anime industry, and a pioneer of anime as a whole. RIP
When I read the news about Akira Toriyama's death, I was very surprised. Dragon Ball was a part of my childhood and it's thanks to this man who now rests in peace.
Thank you Toriyama-sama
Seeing someone go who's that? To immediately being devastated after knowing who Toriyama is just shows how impactful he was on everyone's lives. Rip Akira Toriyama.
Dragon ball was one of the shows me and my dad bonded over, to hear the original creator himself pass actually broke my heart dispite not being all into dragon ball sometimes. May he rest in peace and bring even more adventures in his new life!
He definitely got his recognition in Japan and Mexico, that's for sure.
He has his recognition everywhere here in India too.
R.I.p to Akira Toriyama 😢 Thanks man for sharing You are a real man 😭🙏
RIP Akira the lives you touched are in the millions!! The creator of One piece said that he's floating up there with his own Nimbus cloud
This man quite literally permanently altered pop culture in ways few have.
The news hit me like a train then the train hit me going in reverse 😔😭🙏🐉🕊 rip akira toriyama may you rest on king kais planet
Rest in piece Toriyama-sama. You inspired so many with your work both viewers and manga authors alike
The Persona Music is perfect
EXACTLY
Probably the same guy that ran the Terroriser & Friends Highlights channel.
Rest in Peace to the Anime/Manga legend Akira Toriyama.
From the bottom of my heart thank you for creating dragon ball and you deserve the rest 😢😭
It feels unreal whenever it's bought up, gosh 😢
RIP Akira toriyama 😢 The creator of Dragonball Z
It was a really sad lost to all of us since he was the main one creating the dragon ball franchise
I remember I woke up the minute they posted it it was 9pm for me I was waking up for work and it came as a shock my childhood 😢
Dragon ball was the only anime i watched but i never considered it anime it was always a cartoon in my eyes and the best damn one at that
You are so patient, keep being you
The persons 5 ost fits any sad moment.
I cant believe i went this long without knowing he passed bro R.I.P Akira Toriyama an absolute legend and created one of the best anime ever
Nah bro you good, it was announced on the 7th or 8th. So your only late 2 days or so
OGDB will forever be the best story i had ever seen before getting into One Piece. OGDB was my first ever anime knowing it was a anime and i wouldn't have gotten into One Piece without db cause i only tried one piece cause Chris who plays Vegeta plays Zoro in One Piece. i fell off hard in the Cell saga but GT, DBZK and Super brought back my love of DB years later. Thank You Akira Toriyama for what you created and who you inspired R.I.P i hope you can make it to the end of Snake Way without any trouble ❤
petition to have a gmod video themed of dragon ball in honor of akira
Seeing on Twitter all the of other manga creators and games posting about how their anime or game wouldn’t be the same without it from the inspiration of dragon ball
Remember when he was so appalled by the live action dragonball movie that he created Dragon Ball Super and gave us Ultra Instinct.
He made a huge impact in my life🕊️❤️
At least he put his picture at the end😢
When you see your childhood slowly pass away, you feel like you're really aging. Little by little, things become unrecognizable from what you remember. It's a melancholic feeling.
He was a living legend, he will be missed and never forgotten.
R.I.P the G.o.a.t if it wasn't for Dragon ball alot of the popular manga/anime today most likely wouldn't have been made because he inspired so many creators
if it wasn’t for akira i wouldn’t be so in love with anime dragon ball z was my first anime i have ever watched
Farewell Toriyama, you are number 1
I remember my first exposure to Dragonball; Nintendo Official Magazine was doing a spread on Japanese-only fighting games and there were a couple of Dragonball for the SNES. So they did a background on each of the characters and my first sight of Son Goku was in the centre pages.
I now own the entire Dragonball and Dragonball Z series (Manga dub editions).
At first, I couldn't believe it. It was exactly the day his death was announced. I was doing a quick check on TH-cam, and then, a comment notification saying "RIP Akira Toriyama" appeared from nowhere. I thought "Akira Toriyama WHAT?!?", so I headed to Google News, which unfortunately proved my suspicions, that he had been dead for almost a week (however the fact that there was so much silence about the Dragon Ball franchise except for theories, recaps, etc. gave that stinky sensation), but the way Japan's privacy laws are...
Anyway, Dragon Ball was one of the first animes I watched and loved since I was a child. Toriyama did an extremely excellent job by making such a masterpiece series. I miss him already.
RIP Akira Toriyama Thank you for everything 🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️
I was in massive shock also when I heard about this. Much love ma dood. ❤️
It's not totally your fault if you didn't recognize his name Akira was very private for someone who had such a huge impact there's like a handful of footage and pics of him RIP to the goat
He was a legend the absolute GOAT
Akira Toriyama created so many things in his lifetime that were enjoyed by people all over the planet. You can throw a pebble into a crowd of people, and have a somewhat decent chance of that person having experienced SOMETHING he was a part of, either directly or indirectly.
May he rest in peace 🪦 in the spirit realm 🙏🏾🕊️
RIP father of manga. We'll never forget you.
Brings a tear to my eye every time I see something related to Toriyamas passing, a true legend 😢
RIP to the absolute goat of all anime, the man that set the standards for so many anime titles we love today, you will be loved and missed akira toryamma😢
So sad he will always be in our hearts.
Akira Toriyama's departure leaves a void felt by millions. We extend our gratitude for the enduring inspiration and unparalleled storytelling over the years. He remains a true luminary, celebrated for his remarkable artistry, captivating narratives, and profound influence.
I was also disappointed to have not known the Legend's name, and to have only found out about his death 9 days later. Rest In Peace Akira Toriyama.🙏
He will be miss for the best show in my life time for a while
If it weren't for him
We wouldnt have the "Meet my Boy".
Rest in Peace Akira Toriyama,
Thank you for making our Childhood❤
The fact that Akira Toriyama's death is shaking the world proves how much of an influence that legend was
Forever remember, the goat
literally devastated. I am better now, we all gotta move on pals its a process of life. But damn, DBZ creator, one of the most influential works of art, whatever it was, he left a great masterpiece that another loyal student of his (im not 100% sure but yea) took over the works for. Again. Rest In peace, Sir Akira Toriyama, a Legend to be known for
I wished he lived another year or even another month 😭
Akira toriyama is a personal person. He is not very open to the public so makes sense why not much people knew him. But he is the creator, he wrote the stories.
It's just natural that Terroriser doesn't know since he isn't into anime that much nor probably read the manga or watched it in Japanese. He knows the english VA's so he clearly only watched it on EN.
May he Rest In Peace
And it happened on the first day of March. Literally at the changing of the seasons. I couldn't believe it.
You know he was a big guy when someone who talks about his distasted/disinterest in japanese animation culture, is also deeply mournful of his passing
A true king indeed, millions and millions of children were raised and inspired by his work.
Now you realize it. May his soul rest in peace. Delirious also felt for it
Toriyama is one of the greatest to ever do it. Yk how crazy it is when the creator of Astro Boy calls you an “heir apparent”. It’s amazing that not only the anime community but the whole world came together to mourn the death of one Japanese man. One series alone impacting the whole world like that speaks volumes.
RIP🕊️🙏
I never watched Dragon Ball but when I heard about his passing I was just as devastated as everyone else because I know that without him I wouldn’t have a lot of my favourite anime
So I’m honour of him I’m finally going to start watching Dragon Ball
Rest in peace you absolute legend.
R.I.P legend
It's a very, VERY strange situation we find ourselves in. Many of us have never seen the man. Some of us might not even know his name. But the moment it's announced he passed away and that he created our favourite story, it's like reverse amnesia, suddenly everything connects and we realise how important this man was and because of his private nature, it seemed so understated.
I've always been aware of him, seem a couple of pictures, but it was only after he passed away I looked at an interview of him from 1983 and I realised I'd never heard him speak or even seen him in motion. He seemed like such a cool guy. Didn't want the fame, just wanted to create.
If were you . ...i could have stoped everything and pay a minute Homage to the Legend....cuz that Guy Truely deserve all the Positive Energy ,Prayers and love ...for creating such a Remarkable greatest Anime of all Time ....❤
RIP Tsen Sei ❤🎉🙏🙏
The Persona 5 music is kinda fitting.
Akira Toriyama is literally the godfather of the Manga and Anime world, his work has influenced so many people, in both the West and East
That’s how I was. I have hella chapters hella movies and seasons but I never remembered his name till it happened 😢
Rip to the father of our anime childhood 🙏
I didn't know who Akira Toriyama was until I watched TeamFourStar's 2nd DBCember back in 2015, and started to learn more about how manga and mangakas work
😢
the saddest part is that we can easily just wish him back but elon musk (capsules corp) and bill gates (red ribbon army) each have all the remaining dragonballs..
The persona music just makes it all real.
I’m 35 and first started watching Dragon Ball at 6, and always knew his name then. 😊. He and Shigeru Miyamoto were the 2 Japanese names that I could never forget growing up and then later as I grew up it was Hideo Kojima was the next one. Oh God I love Japan.
*I love how Brian said “ANIMATION”. As if a subliminal message to those that try and put Anime into another category, just so they can pretend it’s lower then things like Disney. Anime is obliterating everything Disney puts out and has been doing that for over 2 decades… Anime is the God Tier Animation, Disney is looking for a quick payday.*
*R.I.P. Akira Toriyama, a legend that will be remembered for decades to come.*
Oh neat, I never thought I’d hear Persona music in a Terroriser livestream.
I found out 30 minutes before bed the night they announced it....
He will be missed R.I.P King
RIP to the G.O.A.T
Even hes the creater of Dragon ball he was one of the greatest and created beerus
Shows like Dragon Ball and Pokémon helped anime break out into the worldwide market. Regardless of how you feel about Dragon Ball or whether you grew up with it or not, anime fans today owe a lot to Toriyama. RIP.
For all those who haven’t watched OG Dragon Ball use this as an opportunity to watch it
you've changed me forever. and i'll never forget you.” kiera cass.

i'm scared about the voice actors for years but damn his dead hits hard
I need to watch Terroriser's MC streams
