Indeed! We have a humidor blessing video that should be coming out sometime soon! And now that the humidor is fully stocked, I agree, we need a proper Cigar Keep Humidor Tour!
The problem with every Cuban box of cigars, whether a box of 25 or a Cabinet of 50, is that between 10-25% of the cigars are quality-wise unacceptable. There have been quality issues for many years (draw too tight, wrappers damaged, strongly uneven burn) and I feel like those issues have increased in recent time due to the shortages - the Cubans send out everything they have, further neglecting quality control. I just bought a cabinet of 50 Por Larranagas, one of my favorite brands, and I already found a few unsmokable sticks. This is an important issue the cigar community should be vocal about, especially since the prices of Habanos have exploded. I'm increasingly hesitant to buy them and started to smoke much more Davidoffs and other New World Cigars - the quality difference is undeniable.
I have been buying Cuban cigars for 27 years. Of the hundreds of boxes I have gone through, I can count on one hand the number of "unacceptable" cigars. Davidoff are always excellent; however, other new world cigars have been awful. Mass produced for the American market.
@@kurjan1 I'm intrigued where you buy your cigars. I've been buying Cuban cigars for 12 years but have noticed quality issues from the beginning - and I honestly don't know any Cuban cigar smoker, even the biggest fans, who would deny those issues, especially in recent time. My cigar merchant (one of the biggest in Europe) keeps a separate container in his walk in humidor where he collects all damaged Cuban cigars and sells them for a significantly reduced price (to be clear: I was not talking about them in my previous comment). Of course you're right concerning New World Cigars - most of them are awful and in particular those from mass production which I don't smoke. But I think there are many fantastic brands like Padron, Arturo Fuente or Don Peppin who are as good as good Cuban cigars and certainly much better than Cuban cigars with quality issues.
@@fonaticollins5957 Well, that's the problem with unsmokable sticks, isn't it? You only notice the most common quality issues after lightning: draw way too tight, strongly uneven burn... And this comes for a price of at least 25€ per piece on average. Is it unfair to expect impeccable quality of such an expensive product?
@@ericelgar2628 I live on the Gold Coast, Australia. Although there is a fabulous cigar shop in Brisbane as well as a great shop on the Gold Coast, I do tend to buy my cigars when traveling. Hi Kirby, Just curious... how are you able to bring Cuban cigars into the US? I picked some up in London and had them confiscated by US Customs when returning.
Filmed! Just needs to be edited up. Busy time of the year and the Studio is quite slammed at the moment with a ton of long form content from our recent Cuba and Italy series.
I like the ring gage on those cigars The length of those cigars are my preferred length. PARTAGAS ? -I have been smoking them on and off for the last 50 plus years..Just a good solid smoke..Very enjoyable cigar..
Very cool purchase. There’s nothing more beautiful in the cigar world than a fresh box of 50 cubans, and that smell. Man I‘m envious as fuck now. May I ask how much those cabinets did cost since you bought them in Cuba I suppose. And I am very curious if there is still a huge price gap to Europe when you’ll buy locally or if they also charge those insane Habanos prices that were adjusted to China‘s market. Enjoy the sticks and happy new year (almost)!

How do you bring the cubano cigars into the country? I was dismayed when on a recent trip to Australia and the availability of cubano cigars, that i had read they had changed the import laws again, even for personal consumption. Or was that incorrect?
