I relate to what your saying about using the word giving to yourself and others and taking care. Being a full time mother of two little ones it's nearly impossible to take care of and give to yourself especially if you have little or no support in any way. Sometimes you just have to do what you can to make it day to day. Sometimes you literally can't afford massages, nails, vacation, etc. and literally too exhausted to take a bath even because you can't take much of a break when your a parent of young children or things will just get a whole lot worse. Sometimes. . . you have no one in your life and you just do the best you can and your taking care of yourself is just buying a pizza instead of making dinner or making yourself a high quality meal with lots of nutrients etc (if you can afford quality food). Other times its just drinking plenty of water or getting yourself a dr. appointment. Many of us are in toxic or abusive relationships because we are held hostage by circumstances beyond our control with no support or the toxic person(s) can not be removed from the situation. if you have kids for example and no income you can't just run away you have to sit and wait and face the demons each day and wait for a window of opportunity to open up so you can grab on to it. For people in extenuating circumstances of poverty for example.. the environment and stress is a major impact so getting encouragement and having people who are caring and balanced are essential. Relationships are important. Having somebody you can trust and depend on other than yourself makes a huge difference. what do you do when you have no one?
Trent I just want to let you know that when I was in my depression I came across one of your videos that gave me hope. I decided to get up and not be stuck in that depression. Along the way I didn’t want to hurt , I didn’t want to feel the pain. Just last night I realized that I have to cry, I have to go through the pain. I can’t just expect to heal without going through that pain. It’s okay to hurt and feel hurt. I was always that person that never cried. I never wanted others to see me cry or see that I am hurt. Recently, I wanted to go back to my old lifestyle and I was so ready to give up and go back into that negative mindset. i am a young singer aged 15 and today i have been asked to sing for someones birthday. i sing everyday and it is my passion but i almost passed up on this opportunity to share my gift because i know that there will be people in the audience who have made me feel uncomfortable. i have been told all of the things you say by my mum but i always avoid uncomfortable situations. these options always turn out to be the harder ones because my fears are still there the next time i am asked to sing. after watching this video i have decided to perform tonight even it all goes wrong. thank you for not sugar coating the truth. sometimes we all need to be told the truth in a way we cant avoid it or mistake it for the harder option xx i always listen to my mums advice as she never tiptoes around the truth but sometimes i need an unfamiliar voice to put everything into perspective xx thank you - Louisa
