- In today's #short I want to show you everything I own in my extreme minimalist wardrobe. I have a four-season capsule wardrobe that I try to keep as sustainable as possible by shopping secondhand and buying from ethical and sustainable brands.

I appreciate you! If only we all practiced this! It’s really hard though but I think it’s courageous of you! That you are not contributing to the horrific fast fashion trendy lifestyle. We often get so caught up in this. I have been shopping at thrift stores my whole life and honestly I prefer them because I can find name brand clothes with the tags still on them’ so many people are impulsive shoppers! Why the heck wouldn’t they think they’re not gonna find good clothing in the thrift store? Thrift stores carry your favorite brands! So yeah I won’t shop at Walmart it’s rare, I won’t get cheap clothing only second hand stuff that is of good quality and high value. And I literally hold onto those clothes for years! Until those little holes start to appear and those fabrics get all bubbly. Seriously there is no reason to have new clothes all the time it’s a waste for the environment.
I love that you said that it’s different for everyone and it’s sooo true because as a teacher my regular wardrobe looks nothing like my work one. I hate wearing pants but as a HS teacher some of my historical dresses don’t really work out well lol
I'm glad too. I did try as extreme like that. But btwn ppl who live w me, walking on ice if they are insane, so staying non-intersecting as possible & can't move, access to dryer/washer, how much I sweat, skin issues, schedule, body's/health sensitivity to both hot & cold season bcz NY be extreme in the switch up, MTA transit not ever cleaned/populous of ppl sharing it & trying not catch from having to share pole on train/never cleaned seats, wet seasons causing extreme dirtiness, & my work necessities...it just didn't work for me to be that minimal, not even sitting/sleeping w/o cushion, or having a platform for my laptop not to hurt my neck/cause migraine. But I'm sure if I lived alone, I could come close.
I love the natural/earth toned color selection of everything you have put together. Not only does it look so good on your skin tone, but it gives a sense of relaxation and well-being in my opinion. It's a peaceful wardrobe, if that makes sense, which I like.
this is my dream as well except I would choose different shoe/boot and more cotton than wool and another hat and few more mittens
the pants, two grey jeans and one white/cream pair makes a lot of sense and I like it, I have similar except I have corduroy dark blue and I wear a cotton really long blue dyed dress in summer or a shorter rusty-yellow dress that is the shorter one each with sandals in that colour (and as ankles chaf sometimes in summer I switch between the two of them) and similar to her's, pair of black cotton shorts under that

If you people hate living so much (because by the fact of being alive you always hurt something, lol) and love soil so much, I have a rather obvious suggestion for you.
Btw my skin tone is not soil colored, it's normal colored.

This is the type of person we need to be seeing more of, the one that shows their lifestyle as something that is good for them in a was they could possibly help the rest of the world.
Wow, your minimal wardrobe is really something to try. I can't have, at least not now, because it needs frequent laundry and I get no time for that. Still, something to try.

You are such an inspiration! I've been slowwlllyyyyy downsizing because EVENTUALLY, my partner will move in with me and I need to make room for him, for us. Plus, owning this much stuff just weighs me down. Your videos are so aspirational and inspiring.

Boulder boots are THE BEST!!! No one ever believes me. I just want to hug mine sometimes. They feel like a part of me. And I hope that any of my thoughtfully purchased future belongings will feel the same.

As a minimalist, I don’t like these clothes. They look too hippie for me. Even when I have few clothes, I like to look neat and elegant. But if you are happy about them, so that’s fine.

I own 7 sets of the same clothes. I only have to do laundry once a week and I never have to decide what to wear. People notice I'm always wearing the same thing, but nobody really cares. I like it.
They clearly live in a soft climate. In my home country you need at least 3 different jackets- a coat for strong wind, a raincoat, and a jacket for when it's -20 and has been snowing for a week straight. And also more summer clothes cause +30°C is not a joke, you sweat like hell and need to change twice a day if you don't want to smell like shit
Yeah, i have health issues that make me hypersensitive to cold, so even 5°c is too much for me and i need waaay too many layers and huge sucks. But minimalism is all about your very own needs ✨ i know i wish i could own less, but that's just not what works for me.
Well if you need that many jackets and wear them then that is the point. It's not necessarily about having less stuff for the sake of it, it's about having only the things you really need and not more
The point of minimalism is that you have only what you truly need. I live in a cold weather and I only have one jacket for winter. Even at -30c I mostly layer up in woolly jumpers. :) We're all different. :)
I would like to do this, I learned recently that all of the clothes I have I only buy because it’s what other people like, I really couldn’t give a shit about clothes and am happy with sweat pants and tank top and would be so happy with just the amount of clothes she has - comfortable and useful. But … I still care about what other people think of me 😓

I own 1 pair of Pants, 1 full sleeve Shirt, 1 Shorts used as Underwear and 1 T-Shirt.

I admire people who can live with just few clothes and shoes. Yes...people are so different.
That is minimal.
I’m still on a journey but have simplified my wardrobe to 3 work tops and 5 everyday, 2 work trousers and 3 everyday jeans. I also have 1 going out too & trousers. 1 cardigan, 3 work jackets as my work tops are sleeveless. I have 2 pairs sandals in summer/2 pairs of boot shoes in winter, 1 pair trainers and a pair of slippers. Obviously underwear but not huge amounts and 7 pairs socks. I keep my winter/summer clothes in a 75litre tote and swap out as seasons change but always same amount. Mostly cotton and or linen, wool.
I have found it makes the choice of what to wear so much easier and everything fits and I love. I do tend to wear things for a long time & don’t follow fashions.
I find it very calming to have rid myself of all the clothes I didn’t need, didn’t fit or ones that I had because they fitted but I hated them.

It seems to me that you enjoy a kind of freedom some people will need to try. I live on a boat and pretty much use the same clothes all time. I have the essentials.
I love this wardrobe, thank you for sharing . This must be so liberating! I am wondering which line of work you are in. Most clothing I own is for work ( bought on ThredUp, for those in the USA, this is an ANAZING on- line second hand store).

All my clothes are black . Every item is black. I own 2 t-shirts, 2 pairs of jeans, 2 pairs of shoes- one for winter and one for summer, 2 longsleeves, 1 winter outdoor jacket, 2 pairs of socks, bras and undies- 5 of each. That"s it.
I don't wear skirts and dresses , i don't wear hats , i don't wear sweatshirts and sweatpants, sweaters , pullovers ... stuff that is too warm . I don't wear tights , ever in winter , we have severe weather(-30°C) in winter , but i hate the feeling of tights. I just wear socks with jeans.

I’m a minimalist too I have clothes I only wear like 2 of them tho and also I don’t have a lot of things I only have things I need I can definitely fit everything I own in 1 suitcase

Just stick to neutrals with the odd bit of colour. My wardrobe is black, grey, white. I have dark and light blue jeans/shorts/dungarees and a few colourful dresses. That is it.
I know me too 😭 I miss my closet being so breezy but I love dressing up and have some of every style of fashion out there I can't decide what I like best it's been driving me insane trying to for years! How can you choose one 🥺 if you find and tips for extreme fashion lovers let me know please

Man. It's kinda funny how similar our wardrobes are. The main difference is that you seem happy with your minimal clothing and I'm actually trying to flesh mine out so I can have more options.
I had a similar wardrobe too when I was a poor kid... but now it's so much bigger. i've been experimenting with style

I have tons of clothes that fit me since 12 i am now 18 havent bought anything new ever since i was 12 never got rid of anything, i decided to be ecominimalist and wait until they all wear down And tun them into rags to minimize my clothing

I think your choice of life is amazing but extreme minimalism wouldn't be adaptable to my lifestyle and job. Even though, I would really like to learn how to take better and more sustainable choices concerning my wardrobe. ❤️❤️❤️

Minimalism is different for every single person. There is no magical number of things you are allowed to own that makes you a minimalist and if you buy one extra thing, you'll be suddenly a horder or something. Just think about what minimalism means to you, research different kinds of minimalism, think about what you need in your life. If you need party clothes to function and be happy, you can still be a minimalist. If I was you, I'd research "capsule wardrobe" for example. That way you can have less clothes, but more functional and everything goes together so you need less. Most importantly - try to remember that minimalism is supposed to make your life easier, not more complicated. If you need something, just get it.

My jaw dropped when I heard 4 tops/shirts because that means you’re doing laundry every few days which is a little wild 💀😂
How many time do you think is rational to do laundry?

@@alessandraferrara240if you use the cold program, no need to split things. Just be careful if you buy a new colorful item of bad quality or with a natural dye. But normal clothes no problem.
It’s a good idea to buy new underwear and socks and bras. Also, I lose them all somehow so I always end up buy backups. So I have like 30 new undies, 20 new pairs of socks and no new bras yet but I need to get like two. I only have one reliable bra at the moment because I lost 30lbs this year!! Currently looking for two more reliable trousers or straight leg pants for work, then a couple dress shirts for work. And a backpack. This is a realistic goal for me, I’m excited to get started on my journey and progress towards an emptier home that gives me peace of mind. 🕊️🙏
