Very cost effective build from lizards, really shows how well flyer rock drops do well against mass infantry, st least for the lizards. By taking out some early skeles it was a lot easier for the other troops to take and pin down the big monsters easier
The Red Skink Chief is such a good value generic. All of the LM generic lord options are really good
The rock drops are best used when infantry is low armoured and densely packed, so factions like empire, most elven infantry, and skeletons are always vulnerable to a well timed rock drop.
I think a big part of the problem here is the Stegadon made an almost perfect 'Distraction Carnifex', drawing both spirit leeches + greatbow fire that would've been far better served targeting those flyers... hell, the Sphinx alone would've been MORE that capable of 1-v-1ing a feral Stego. Sure, the big dinos are scary for your infantry, but, given how quickly they got crunked anyway, it would barely have mattered..!
Flyers can dodge arrows quite easily.

Woefully short lived, it was new for 8th edition now you can't even get one to paint from GW, even though the "Shitys of Sigmar" faction is just a pile of 8th edition models clumped into one faction.
It's dope. Tomb kings were honestly one of the best looking armies painted up. Oodles of character.
10:27 - I believe it does do damage with small AOE, and a pretty strong one as well.
Yeah, you can see it when Khemrian Warsphinx is falling that it squashed some unfortunate saurus and make them into red pancakes lol
Yeah in one game i watched a necrosphinx fell and killed like 2 or 3 skin wolves
In my humble experience the Lizard Air Force is your biggest foe as TK, so targeting them with the Great Bows on the approach may have served you better (if you nuke one out you also prevent a rock drop and save some skellingtons). Necrosphinx can block off the Steggo, but it can't keep the SkyZards off your Ushabti. Lastly when your Casket was in Melee it could've still gotten some shots off on Saurus instead of doing melee attacks, which may have gotten you more value out of it.
Just to add on to this Arkhan's early spirit leeches probably would have been better served going after the Rippers rather than the Steggo. Both Teradons and Rippers have rather low hp per model so spirit leech can start downing models pretty quickly. It also may have been better to save that first skellie summon to buffer the Greatbows after the first Ripper dive, or even try to use it to trap the Rippers in. Even a basic skeleton unit can cause huge damage to Rippers given their atrocious MD.
How do you keep casket firing rather than melee fighting?
@@ghorstbusters6238 Put it in guard mode and give new attack orders. You may have to do it for every attack depending on whether it gets 'dragged' into the melee fight again.

Playing Lizardmen campagin atm "Massssdaaaaamundiii" realised why they were my first tabletop faction. Dino will eat you, weapons nd all ^^ readying myself for PVP battles again, been awhile
Man where did KaalHaarman come from? Or have they always been around the scene and this good, and I'm just noticing now?
Feels like only a month ago Lizardmen seemed to be in a rough spot and then Kaal appeared with a bunch of innovative builds as well as great micro to always be applying pressure.
Either way they are a joy to watch play Lizardmen and I appreciate the cast as always Turin.
Kaal reminded everyone that Rock Drops can basically one-shot most chaff infantry, and that giant dino's function better as a support element rather than the centerpiece of the army.

This is how I played lizardmen when the red-crested chief's dlc was released actually. Particularly against dwarves because he was difficult to snipe on foot and had surprising damage output with whatever his frill ability was - great for hunting runelords or even over unsuspecting characters. I would never duel with him, but the op would send their lord into some troops and think "there is nothing here to harm me but skinks" and then my boi would strike. And he was dirt cheap, letting me get other fun stuff.
I do love me some Tomb Kings.

Love seeing well played dinos. Saw some Tactical Reserve terradons as well, who came back for the end.
What about chariots instead of warsphinx? Can help make the army a bit more wide as well. Run interference while you're ranged does damage
It's tough for them cause saurus have really high mass for infantry so chariots can get caught up and dragged down. Plus they can't help peel off the flyers when they dive onto the great bows so nehekara horsemen give more utility here.

@Turin There is a tabletop necrosphinx. Its translation from tabletop to Warhammer 2 is pretty much 1 to 1.
Considering how common terradon and skirmish heavy lizard builds are in this matchup lately, would it be worth it to go heavy on carrion? Or even pick the followers of nagash sub faction and spam fell bats? In the event that your opponent goes into temple guard or carno type play, fell bats and carrion are still pretty useful for chasing things and buying time for your casket to keep shooting.

I agree, they're VERY underwhelming right now for what they cost...
Reckon Necros should come with the 'Heroic Killing Blow' ability as standard; THEN they might manage not to suck quite so bad at their task of killing other big monsters..!
I would drop it for another Warsphinx to help carve up the Saurus. Also, drop the casket (too hard to protect against lizards) and replace it with some Nehekara Cavalry to help intercept the airforce when it dives onto your ushabti line

Wait, did the Ushabti summon not get used? I was watching the realm of souls bar and waiting for the clutch play of them to help with the blob at the end but not sure if I missed them?
They got summoned near the middle in the giant fracas, he specifically mentions them in the commentary. They got wiped out pretty quickly.
there is a necrosphnix model - pretty much the same, though a bit squat compared to the TW model
I found that most models where similar except dragons and dragon ogres. Those look Fucking awful in table top

Saurus warriors are so strong. Cleaved through the front line of the Tomb Kings with 75 percent health on each. Tomb Kings needs some infantry buffssssss!

I say you could do with some skeleton archers to help zone out the airforce and pick off stuff like the skink RoR efficiently
The model is pretty magnificent, and back in the day it made me want to collect Tomb Kings. And then i found out it had terrible combat stats, and the model cost like a million trillion pounds. 🤣

They're a good dual purpose unite that is strong against infantry and decent against monsters
I reckon some skeleton archers or Nehkara Cavalry. You need something to either blast down the airforce or dive on it. The cavalry can also do some cycle charging against the saurus blobs
