Astarion is an absolute cat here, him telling nobody cares about mind flayers except Gale, the snickers he always does, and the lilt Neil adds to his voice. My god, you can hear the man smiling with every line read 😂
Yeah you're right. This game actually has MORE banter than DA Origins, and yet somehow I feel the banter in Origins triggered more often. I think it's a bug.
@@SavageDragon999 I think there is some sort of bug because I hear a lot of Act 3 banter. Act 1 does have more than Act 2 + 3, but there is still plenty of banter, at least that's what I experience.
i had a thought the other day about wanting the complete companion banter for bg3. i thought, "if anyone's gonna do it, it'll be the yt channel that did all of those complete dragon age game banter." and i was right! thanks so much for this!
I do want to know if people think this banter is better than the Dragon Age ones. Personally I still hold that all the Dragon Age games have better banter.
I think Dragon Age Origins had a better banter, DA2 was funny but not as good as origins and Baldurs Gate 3 outclasses DA: Inquisition. Personal preference but I don’t feel the inquisition characters were as fleshed out as the others. So this banter is better than one of the dragon age games. Again, just my opinion and yours is valid! I just think Origins will never be outdone.
@@Commanderd2007 I just don't see how you can hear the Solas and Varric banter between the two and not think DAI has at least on par banter between the two. Nor hearing the tone and relationship changes from DA2 and not think it is on par as well. It just feels so much better than what BG3 offers.
@@omaki27 I just don't think BG3 feels as deep as the Dragon Age games when it comes to exploring its characters. It just feels like BG3 characters are mostly sticking to the surface level.
I like that in dragon age (at least in inquisition) the banter triggered every 8 minutes or something like that, bg3 seems to have specific triggers so by the time you get to the end of the game the party is weirdly quiet
I'm surprised there isn't any Minthara + Jaheria or Minsc voicelines since its possible to get all three, the only combination that is impossible is Minthara + Halsin.

@@MandalorianRevanAlthough you CAN get both of them in your party by cheating the game to have them both, you are not meant to be able to, which is why they both share a tent space AND why they don’t have any voice lines interacting with one another. TLDR: this person wasn’t arguing you couldn’t have them both, they meant that the two have no banter because they are not meant to both be in the same party
It sucks because it seems like there’s so much good banter with the other characters with Astarion and Karlach but they don’t fit in my party rn I got Shadowheart as Healer my ranger a rogue and Lae’zel as strikers and front liners and Gale as my offensive caster I’m romancing Lae’zel and I see a healer and Caster as essential
Okay, so after watching the whole thing I have come to this conclusion. By itself it is pretty good. There is a lot of chemistry between the companions and a lot of great insights into each of them. Though the banter does consist of each companion saying, "Hey look at that *gives opinion*." "*Either agrees, disagrees, or makes a funny comment*." Which isn't bad but when compared to Bioware games it falls short. I can't describe what the real difference is but it just feels different. I still prefer the way Bioware does banter to the way Larian does it.
@@SavageDragon999 sure but this is balanced out by other companions who are more than just quips. While BG3 is nearly defined by them. The only time I heard dialogue that wasn't just quips was with Jaheria and Halsin. And even then there dialogue doesn't reach the peaks of Dragon Age. What Loghain says the dog or what Sten says to Shale. Sure they have funny banter but it's isn't all characters or all the time like BG3.
the comments tell me you guys are going of dialogue only, in which case both series are great....but if you factor in actual voice acting? i would say the first two dragon ages were better, inquisition had a few instances, but was lackluster in comparison
jesus, shadowheart is a real bitch towards Halsin. Too bad I maybe heard about 2-3 lines of these 3 hours during my multiple playthroughs. It's a shame the banter is so bugged... seems like it should be a priority to fix for Larian...

You start the game thinking Wyll is kind of boring when he has some of the funniest lines in the series.
I am doing my second playthrough and dragging him along and I got kinda surprised he tries to woo every girl in the party....
pro tip: play river camp ambience and then this video at the same time, realllyyyy quiet. It sounds like you're sitting by the chionthar listening to the companions bicker and laugh around the campfire.

Three playthroughs and I've barely heard any of these. The companions become almost completely silent after act 1.

Yeah you're right. This game actually has MORE banter than DA Origins, and yet somehow I feel the banter in Origins triggered more often. I think it's a bug.
@@SavageDragon999 I think there is some sort of bug because I hear a lot of Act 3 banter. Act 1 does have more than Act 2 + 3, but there is still plenty of banter, at least that's what I experience.

I do want to know if people think this banter is better than the Dragon Age ones. Personally I still hold that all the Dragon Age games have better banter.
I think Dragon Age Origins had a better banter, DA2 was funny but not as good as origins and Baldurs Gate 3 outclasses DA: Inquisition. Personal preference but I don’t feel the inquisition characters were as fleshed out as the others. So this banter is better than one of the dragon age games. Again, just my opinion and yours is valid! I just think Origins will never be outdone.
Personally, I think it beats Origins and 2 banter, but Inquisition slightly tops the BG3 banter
@@Commanderd2007 I just don't see how you can hear the Solas and Varric banter between the two and not think DAI has at least on par banter between the two. Nor hearing the tone and relationship changes from DA2 and not think it is on par as well.
It just feels so much better than what BG3 offers.
@@omaki27 I just don't think BG3 feels as deep as the Dragon Age games when it comes to exploring its characters. It just feels like BG3 characters are mostly sticking to the surface level.
I like that in dragon age (at least in inquisition) the banter triggered every 8 minutes or something like that, bg3 seems to have specific triggers so by the time you get to the end of the game the party is weirdly quiet

It sucks because it seems like there’s so much good banter with the other characters with Astarion and Karlach but they don’t fit in my party rn I got Shadowheart as Healer my ranger a rogue and Lae’zel as strikers and front liners and Gale as my offensive caster I’m romancing Lae’zel and I see a healer and Caster as essential
get the "party limit begone" mod and you can have all the origin characters in ur party
Okay, so after watching the whole thing I have come to this conclusion.
By itself it is pretty good. There is a lot of chemistry between the companions and a lot of great insights into each of them. Though the banter does consist of each companion saying, "Hey look at that *gives opinion*." "*Either agrees, disagrees, or makes a funny comment*."
Which isn't bad but when compared to Bioware games it falls short. I can't describe what the real difference is but it just feels different. I still prefer the way Bioware does banter to the way Larian does it.

The only time I heard dialogue that wasn't just quips was with Jaheria and Halsin. And even then there dialogue doesn't reach the peaks of Dragon Age. What Loghain says the dog or what Sten says to Shale. Sure they have funny banter but it's isn't all characters or all the time like BG3.
