Most smartphones today use average camera hardware and pumps up a lot of post processing. So we're naturally used to seeing good processed photos.
Huawei this time round uses good hardware, so good to the extent minimal to no processing is needed and pretty much the images you see are as stock as you can get.
Still the king of smartphone camera hands down

Up to this moment, all smart phones have no 10x, 3x optical zoom beside the 100x digital zoom and 20x hybrid zoom.
I have Galaxy s20 ultra, and it is good with 100x digital zoom but unfortunately, s20 ultra has only 3x optical zoom and zero hybrid zoom.

@@Pienimusta well, probably the word "corona" has many meanings in different languages (but all similar), for both the virus and the beer means "Crown" in Spanish, which most likely comes from a Latin word meaning the same. The virus is shaped like it has a crown and you can see in the beer logo the crown. I would also assume that the ring around the sun means crown, again from Latin, like many scientific terms (which also came from Greek at the same time). I use double commas, but for me the are called quotes, because its the norm in Spanish and don't really know in English when is correct to use single and when is correct to use double quotes/commas.

Nice video, thank you. I've always admired GSMArena Team for being impartial and non toxic with their content on the website.
Guys, a suggestion: include more close up photos of people to see how the skin tones are (not only portrait mode, which has further processing, like the softness). Huawei are known for their unrealistic skin tones (compared to Pixel or Iphone), which I can confirm on the P30.
Another useful thing is to sort of evaluate the shutter lag and how well the main camera handles moving subjects (like people or pets, another hit and miss with Huawei in the past).
Though I consider Huawei cameras have good performance, in real life they disappointed me compared with the Pixels. Many inaccurate shots, unrealistic skin tones in all modes, poor handling of moving subjects, extreme noise reduction by smoothing (noise is ok for many people), shutter lag is always a surprise, poor video white balance (red faces), extreme jpeg compression, poor white balance for night photos. Their focus seems to be on extreme zoom and ultra low light photos, which we rarely use.

Since its a review dedicated for the camera alone, i was hoping u guy doing it more thoroughly and put up some comparison to the competition, still a great review, but that was just my suggestion, also although there are some already do the video test while running, i was hoping you do it too, because it test the limit of how capable the stability is & sometimes its just better to watch you guys do the review compared to other, those are only my suggestion

Guys, I don't know you but I been reading gsm arena for like 10 years now, I got curious and I started searching where these reviews are shot, most of them are made in Bulgaria, near to the Vitosha Park Hotel, however, I can't seem to find the specific building where the reviews are made, I've found all the scenarios the only thing that I am still missing is the exact building where they are located at, I know it sounds a bit weird but right now I have a lot of free time if anyone knows hit me up, thanks! great review by the way! nevermind I found them! haha.

Still using this phone that is in my profile pic the white one..luckily in malaysia we have lighthouse for google apps and service..and this phone perform almost like a normal native gms device..even in 1st quarter 2024 this phone still going strong as my daily driver..kirin 990 is still smooth for daily task and multi tasking..😂

@@thetrigon You have the most of the apps on Huawei App Galery, and the other ones you can still download from their official sites. So it's easy, even google services work if you side load them.

My plan: I will switch mye eco system to Huawei. I will be able to find similar services there that I mostly need, like cloud, storage, editing, writing etc, and all the social media apps have easy workarounds to get them there I think. Then I would download huawei app store to my tablet, samsung s6, and apply the same apps there so that I can easily sync stuff. Not sure about this plan, but if it works and is legal and safe I might do this when the phone is available for purchase. Is this a good plan?
Yes it is. You can always get it from its mainland.
@@aroundth3w0rId yeah, but buying expensive stuff online with no local store is to risky I think. What if the phone has a malfunction or is faulty in some way, then to start stressing with Africa mail (witch is a own risk in itself), and then to start defending my case over email with wherever I bought the phone, back and fort, and then they stop answering my mail, then time, and more time and my phone will disappear like that, I have seen that story to many times. I think I will wait for my local store to have it, then at least I have a physical place to conplain if there is a warranty issue

I knew it wasn't exactly 10x optical zoom; as the P30 Pro's actual Zoom, with a focal length of 125mm was 4.6x zoom
So when this camera doesn't even reach 250mm, I had little hope that it was a legit 10x optical zoom camera.

@@user-or3xf4mh7j Leica only provides the glass for the cameras they don't do software tuning anymore. You can see the difference on the camera module of a huawei phone and an honor phone with the same sensors. The glass on the huawei phone is clearer and it doesn't get as fingerprinty.

@@user-or3xf4mh7j No, they didn't. They buy the best lens glass from Leica and use custom sensors from Sony that are made to Huawei's specifications. Then software engineers from huawei, handle the software to process images. Leica stopped collaborating on the software side since the p30 pro. All they do is sell the glass and license their filters. Maybe don't comment on something you don't know how it works...

With AIS that can't be turned off, that means the image is always cropped which means it's even faker 4k. Although upscale is a real thing if the source video is very high quality, and it would be done in RAW mode where upscale is occurring so should be better quality than upscale done in post

I wish to purchase a new Huawei phone. The lack of GMS doesn't bother me very much. Also I have little need of Facebook and all its attached apps. My only thing would be TH-cam which is available online in computer anyway. However, I need communication apps such as Telegram etc. Where is it possible to discover what communication apps are currently available on HMS?
Huawei hands down one of the best Smartphone companies and one of the best smartphone cameras with the likes of Samsung, Apple, and Google but Huawei's night mode is beyond the likes of anything
#Huawei phone is operated by SDK Rom (homemade). This is not the Google OS nor do you get support. This will mean no play store or integration associated. #SDK Rom versions are avaliable to anyone for programming be Google or Microsoft or Linux SDK's. SDK Roms in general are for developer testing or the opportunity for older devices to get a newer OS version from #CyanogenMod or other. #device #mobile
So best hardware without software (GMS). For some people that might still be 'all they need'...
If you are tech decent enough, you can install GMS. It will take about 5 mins if you know what you are doing.

missing information - sensor size
Camera is great but punch hole on screen is so distracting.
It is not that bad, but I hate punch holes in general. Worst idea for phones ever.
@@xmaverickhunterkx yeah, I prefer narrow bezel than that punch hole and notch design. Only a single cam punch hole is acceptable.
I actually find the duo punch hole looks better than the smaller single hole. I also prefer notch (and teardrop) over punch hole in general.
