Holy smokes the quality of that wood is beyond anything I’ve ever seen in person. Amazing material
I was thinking the same... this is their douglas fir!
All american wood. Sold to them for cheap. To then mill n sell us the junk. Awesome world economy.
@@christopherr7195 Do you have a link with more information?
@@christopherr7195 You must've missed the part where they said it was japanese Cypress. The Western worlds problem is that sawmills get more money out of bad cuts as very few people demand certain qualities or even know what to look for. So trees are fertilized and cut for max volume and very little regard for rings, fibre and reaction wood.
I'm unimpressed. I see some boards with huge knots, some with reaction wood, and some with plugged defects. Greetings from Japan's western cousin, Norway.
this is the best fkn channel ever. i say that as a binge watcher of specifically wood working youtube
英語では「我は引き出しの裏もサンドします」のことわぎある。でも消しゴム削ってえんぴつの線を消すとは、まさにそのことわぎ超えます😂
As I watch this dude I am convinced that his work will last a thousand years.
This is my favorite carpentry channel hands down. Such amazing experience and skills.
“That’s all for today”.. this gentleman did more in one day that I did in a week. 😂😂 Great work sir!
Damn, I’m soooooo envious of the homeowner who gets to enjoy such precision work that I never get to see in the US at any price point up to $10M homes.
With all the videos of people butchering things online, It is a privilege and pleasure to watch a master at work. There is a real beauty in neat, efficient work and design, and It comes across beautifully in the video. I made the same noise when he fit that floorboard around the beam so perfectly. That is the greatest feeling in carpentry!
You can't find a carpenter like this anyomre. Everything became fast and of low quality. Thank you for giving your best to keep the old school last. Cheers!
The craftsmanship is second to none!
Craftsmanship combined with Japanese obsession with perfection!
The beauty of the Shaved Ribbons from his Hand Planners, is almost as much of a commentary of the quality of his tools & workmanship; .....as is the end result of his work. Impressive.
The precision of his work is beautiful... I wish he would build me a house in America to the same standard.
We do real estate construction in Russia and this by far the cleanest job I've seen. Thank you Shoyan for your work
I am just looking at those planks and beams ... darn it, I wish I could get that quality of wood for my projects.
Oh yeah, love the carpentry skills too 🙂
YOU ARE A TRUE CRAFTSMAN ‼️🔨 BEAUTIFUL WORK‼️‼️ Vinny 🇺🇸
Amazing work, the gentleman is a true maestro. The best quality materials and right people who respect it with their experience, best combo and the result.
His reaction to fitting that board around that post is epic ahah so satisfying when u get it perfect
I will learn a lot as a master builder that I am.. now I can see a scholarship with this person.!!!! Mmmm!!!
I have done a lot of flooring in my time. That is a beautiful floor. I would love to have it in my home.
This man is a true artisan.
Could not be more different from an American jobsite. What pride in craft, material, and method. Awesome
building the house like building a fine piece of furniture- impressive.
I drool on the quality of the wood alone.
That is, by far, the cleanest construction area I've ever seen.
Very nice Japanese hand tools. And nice precision work🙏🏼🇨🇦💜
I watch these videos in awe. Yes Mr. Shoyan, I enjoy your videos. あなたのスキルは非常に称賛に値するものであり、あなたがそれらを私たちと共有してくれることを嬉しく思います.
I love to watch a Master of his craft
WoW the quality of that wood and workmanship is Amazing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stunning workmanship & no ghetto blaster....
1) idk why this was in my recommendations but im glad
2) Damnnnnnnnnnnnn that wood quality is hella fine
Ok. One minute in and i already love this channel 😊 The eraser cleaning, the precision.... This is the way 🤗
Can I be your apprentice!?! I love Japanese carpentry, it fuels my OCD of perfection hahaha So different from Canadian construction, thanks for sharing!
It absolutely amazes me how much joinery is still used in Japanese house making. An absolute master at work.
Beautiful as always. Am I the only one who gets excited when another Shoyan video drops?
I watch this channel before starting a woodworking project for inspiration.
You cant help but admire Japanese precision…❤
Everything looks so clean on his worksite. I'm no carpenter but what a joy to watch.
13:48 was the best bit for me. He's great, but even he was impressed by how well that fit 😂
This is amazing. Gonna come back here again and again for notes and tips and carpentry technique ideas.
Like most of these foreign (to me) videos I see on workers and craftsman doing what they do, I say come to 🇺🇸 and you'll be millionaires in no time. This quality is getting rarer and rarer.
Greetings from Ireland... you are such a master craftsman and thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and techniques.... your wood quality is fantastic
As an American Carpenter for well over 2 Decades our job is to take Bent, twisted, and irregular thickness material and Appear to the Eye as Plumb level and Square...I appreciate your Craftsmanship and Expertise...
NEVER Underestimate the Power of the Clamp...
A highly skilled craftsman at the top of his game. Fascinating to watch, his precision is outstanding.
Here to appreciate the quality of wood he has.
I'm learning something every five seconds, which is as much a testament to your expertise as it is to my inexperience.
Pure quality that was entrancing to watch.
Absolutely flawless.
1:30 LEGIT. I can't imagine anyone taking the time ot erase their cut mark, really shows the care.
It is nice to watch a master craftsman working. Beautiful work.
This reminds me of the shows Yankee's Workshop and This Old House in America...I'm gonna hit the subscribe button
The attention to detail is impeccable.
So beautiful!! A true artist!
Your videos actually gave me a good idea of what i wanted to do at my house using different wood. I stumbled upon this channel while back and didnt sub till now.
kudos and great work
It’s so refreshing to see a skilled craftsman produce great craftsmanship, something you seldom see these days.
Thank you.
Such accuracy and craftsmanship beautiful to see. Thank you
Oh man, Shoyan is so inspirational, all those videos make me want to be a carpenter.
What beautiful, quality wood you have used. Everything you do is SO precise it is such a pleasure to watch the skills of such a master craftsman at work & being able to listen as each step is so clearly explained. I could never tire of watching you at work Shoyan. Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Don from South Aust.
Your videos are fascinating to watch and very educational, plus, the quality of the lumber you use is extremely high, as good as any lumber I’ve ever seen. Thanks for what you do.
Thank you for filming this. Such great care taken to provide this quality.
You do not have to know anything about woodworking to enjoy this content.
Beautiful wood and amazing workmanship.
Incredible Skill, thank you for Sharing and Posting for all to see !!!!!😁😁😁😁😁😁
Love this guy I’ve now watched all his video on this channel only problem now I want some Japanese tools that I can’t get here in England
Never seen suck great craftsmanship, nice wood and workplace here in Europe
Really impressive work!
Proof that 🇯🇵Japanese are masters at many things and shows pride in their work.
Here we have lots of problems that builders just toss things togheter and caulk the flaws to hide it uintill the warranty is out and generally bad and awful work..
As someone who’s woodworking is rarely straight or square, this is simply magical. Amazing skill and craftsmanship sir! 🙇♂️
🙌🏽Japanese wood work🙌🏽 I love me some handsaws!
I was hooked the moment the intro began. I love Japanese woodwork and the precision I’m seeing on this video is nothing short of amazing! I was giggling like a kid when the wood was tightly fitted in its place. All I can do is bow to the master for doing such a wonderful job. This is how I imagine my house would be done if I could afford it. Lovely video. Going to the next one. Thank you 😊
I don’t know what the hell I’m watching, but I love it.
thanks for the english translation. is helpful, but when he wasn't there it forced me to watch more closely to understand. Besides, Japanese for a Pole is melodious and I liked listening to it. respect for attention to detail
Japan perfection!
I just witnessed pure magic! Respect
The sharpness of the hand tools is impressive as well as the quality of the work.much respect.
That drill bit wasn't too sharp! Holy smokes is right!
@@zymurgistperp seared off possible moisture getting in ,and you know how they drill to fast at times.well double plus.
Jesus what accuracy and he even fixes any scratches he makes to the wood.
I can say for certain that isn't done anywhere else, even if the house has exposed wood.
A very nice display of carpentry skills.Thank you!
Beautiful Shoyan.
An absolute pleasure watching you work
Holy shit. This is the BEST video to watch high as fudge... 🥴
All I can say is it's a pleasure to watch you master shoyan.
I like seeing the diff products used around the world and tools too
Beautiful wood and great skills
I'm so glad I discovered this video. Beautiful and flawless craftsmanship!
Shoyan san, I continue to enjoy your channel and look forward to many new videos from you. I hope that you and your son have a great New Year! 🥰
Amazing. A true master carpenter. Stay safe.
my dude really working w no shoes. love that
Great craftsman. Really love the share of knowledge
First time watching, very impressive.
I hope someday I can move to Japan and let Mr. Shoyan build my dream house.
Thank you so much 🙏 I look forward to your every video.
I love the Metabo/Hikoki tools. I have lots of cordless tools from just about every manufacturer you could name but I always end up using the Metabo (unless I need an oscillating multi tool - then I go DeWalt). The Metabo triple hammer impact is hard to beat
I can smell this video … awesome
Shoyan, if possible, I would love to apprentice under you to learn this masterful skill. I will move to Japan just to do this!
Loved the way you sharpened the pen 😅
Awesome carpentry skill!
I worked with some traditional Japanese carpenters in Japan. One day I was nailing up some siding when the head carpenter came over and said, "Hey, you're installing that siding upside down."
Me, "Huh?"
"All the wood should be installed in the direction it grew, especially the posts. They are stronger that way because that is the direction that gravity has acted upon them."
"How do you know which way it grew?"
At this, he just ran his hand along the grain and replied, "You can feel it. It's smoother in the direction it grew."
You my friend have beyond carpeting experience very excellent work 👍
look at the extraordinary work.... cant compare this to anything else
The TH-cam algorithm does it again....Wow....this was neat to watch...Its like you always knew Japanese were high on quality but I had no idea you can have that much precision in rough carpentry. Extremely impressed.
amazing work, particularly around the pillar…respect!
You know when the person is a craftsman when they make it look so simple. Thank you for showing us your talented carpentry
Craftsmanship at its finest
JAPANESE best woodworkers for sure! just look how sharp pencil ! and chisels
