You can de-clog a sanding belt (or any sandpaper) by running a piece of natural rubber (other rubbers work quite well too) against it. It literally takes 1-2 seconds to completely clean up a belt sander like that. It's a common trick used by woodworkers and apparently by skate boarders (the top of the skateboard is essentially just sandpaper to help you get a grip with your feet). They're usually sold with search terms like "rubber sanding belt cleaner" or whatever.
I have a rubber belt cleaner bar. It works to some extent, but I have found that it leaves rubber stuck in the belt. Not a huge deal if you're roughing out something, but leaves weird streaks on higher finishing grits.
Beautiful knife, and handle. Have you ever tried burning in an oak handle with a torch then taking a wire brush to brush out the burnt parts between the grain? It turns out really nice, it creates valleys between the grain of the oak and raises the grain of the oak.
Really looking forward to the day i can afford a 2x72 grinder like this!! I can produce pretty decent results with my pathetic little mastercraft 4x36 grinder... next tool/machine im saving up for 100%!! Also, your knives and this knife handle are legit badass!
Can you show us how you make the handle for the hidden tang? Watching a lot of smiths, they just drill holes and then fit it on, but i can't really tell what it is that do to get a good fit.
Gotta be careful with foam backing over metal pins in wood... Ty for your time, nice to see a master smith do the same thing I do... Love your handles... Literally broke or I'd love to take a course... I got some abs videos I got my eye on I should break down and order...

Yeah, one of the things I find most difficult is making the scales symetrical on the knife.
