    Some parts of Downers Grove are exceptional. It’s better than Elmhurst. It’s a beautiful town.

      @@AustinWeiss the place where they have the wooden street signs and the wooded area. And the airport area. I pretty much like all of downers Grove. Better than Elmhurst.

    I’m moving to Chicago to finish my nursing degree with Loyola and can’t decide between the downers grove campus and maywood/forest park/oak grove 😬😬

    I usually like going to all the restaurants and traditions there like farmers markets and I love walking and riding around trails here in downers

      The DG farmers market is great and I personally love the fresh breakfast sandwich vendor. The parks/facilities are beautiful throughout Downers Grove and I enjoyed exploring most of them while putting together my DG vlog. What's your favorite restaurant?

    Used to live on Lee Ave. in the 1950's. And my Dad took the train to downtown Chicago.
    I have great memories as a child there. Loved living there.

      Probably the time era, it was kind of a Norman Rockwell type town. Loved our house, our woods, on an acre and a third. The neighbors, life was good then. And just the feeling you had just living there. Learning how to ice skate. They had a really big pool with a high dive. So glad I started out my life there. I live in WA. State now. I want to come back sometime. I know my old house is gone, but I Google map it now and then, and it still seems special.

    I recently got a job offer in Lisle, IL. Do you know of a city nearby Lisle that has reasonably affordable rent? (I'm from Michigan so cost of living isn't too high here). Thanks!

    • @AustinWeiss
      @AustinWeiss  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I trust your new job will be compensating you accordingly for the cost of living in Chicagoland. Downtown Lisle & Downers Grove have some great options. Also the apartment complexes off route 53 in Woodridge and off of I355 in DG.

    Great video. Are there any areas in Downers Grove that you would avoid buying a house?

    • @AustinWeiss
      @AustinWeiss  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Really depends on your needs, lifestyle and price point. The downtown area has great amenities and is more desirable but more expensive. Further South you can find great homes but you are further from the action, train station and nightlife.

    • @Brookfieldilrailfan
      @Brookfieldilrailfan 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The southern part tends to have a higher crime rate and not too good schools

      @@AustinWeiss In the 80's it went from a working middle class town to a overpriced Yuppy utopia....I remember a huge Rexnord ball bearing factory right up where I88 and the park is now....Downtown was almost completely different. I lived just north of 59th street. Living in Nevada now. No income tax, low property tax, way less regulation, and the sun is shining 90% of the time. Not to mention they can balance the state budget.
