And I’ve never listened to MGK before the whole thing with Em and thought after all that he’d kind of just fade off like some have. How wrong I was! If anything that whole thing made him bigger! I listen to MGK WAY more than Em, lol. Downloaded a lot of his stuff and I LOVE what he’s been doing with these smaller tracks! One of MGK's songs I always come back to (especially w part 2 out). Grew up in the 90s and I was in high school when Em came out. To say I'm a Stan is an understatement. Had my hair bleached blond with the puff jacket and all. I've been messing with MGK since his first KellyVision and never took sides. Any true music fan wouldn't, and I'm constantly amazed by his talent. Prefer the rap stuff over the rock, but his success was more important to me than his genre. He's ALWAYS been a huge punk fan (Blink 182) and so is Cassie, so I'm happy he's happy and glad he's reaching a wider demographic. He's amazing at rap, but especially as you get older, it gets harder and harder. Obviously there's exceptions (Em) but rock has more longevity. Just look at Aerosmith, Rolling Stones and the hundreds of other songs. Don't get it twisted though, the man could rap when he wants to. He's at a point in his life where he's got nothing to prove, and anyone that still hasn't let it go is a d rider, cause MGK could make some great music, and few match his work ethic or talent. And he completely revolutionized rap concerts. Used to be 50 dudes on stage, no energy and it'd sound like crap. Reason these rappers turn up at their concerts nowadays is 100% because of MGK.
