I live in Hawaii and am a reseller.
I have a lot of my items, especially small to medium boxes delivered between 3 to 5 days.
Larger boxes over 15" take forever to get delivered, normally 2 to 3 weeks.
Lover your channel. I have learned a lot from you guys.
You guys compliment each other very well... ALOHA!

Yes there is red brass and there's also yellow brass what you have is red brass

The slower shipping choices always have a chance of filling out an air cargo container.

I shipped an international sale to the postal Hub in Illinois only 4.5 hours from my house on Monday. On Tuesday it arrives in Chicago (10 min. from the hub). On Wednesday it goes to Sioux Falls, SD and on Thursday arrives in St. Paul, MN. Then back to Chicago and to Carol Stream, Il. and finally on Friday makes it to the hub. No wonder USPS has to raise postal rates all the time.

Shipments to Hawaii don't go via boats. USPS isn't like UPS, DHL, and FedEx in having its own fleet of aircraft. USPS contracts with various commercial airlines such as Hawaiian Airlines, Delta Air, United Airlines, Southwest Air, etc. to transport their mail. If a particular flight is emptier than usual, the airlines will accept USPS loads for transport.
I used to work for Hawaiian Airlines in Honolulu and handled cargo manifest paperwork to log and report container weight for the flight crew (for balanced aircraft take-off / landing management). We'd always have USPS containers arriving / departing HNL airport daily.

Usps delivery dates are such a crap shoot! It's a pretty regular occurrence where I'll have a media Mail package get delivered to the East Coast, before a priority package can make it to the next state. 🙃

There's also no way that "ground" advantage is being shipped ground. I live in CA and had an order delivered to VA in 2 days.

My opinion ground advantage is just as good as priority mail. I sent priority packages and took longer than ground advantage. its hit and miss with usps.

Speaking of packages to Hawaii (and AK & PR) eBay is saying by Q3 they are adding those 3 areas to the eBay International Shipping program. Not sure how that is going to work out, since my packages to Hawaii would go east to the eBay hub, from Seattle, then back west to be delivered.

Brass and Bronze both have copper as their main components. Brass has the addition of zinc, bronze has tin added. Both also may have additional elements added to strengthen the item or make it more malleable. You might just have a good brass nut cracker there...sorry Lonnie!

I just spent a week in Kona Hawaii last month, beautiful there. I regularly ship packages from mid-missouri the are going to the West coast that make it there and delivered in 2 days with ground advantage. My packages are usually routed to St Louis where it appears they usually just stick it on a plane instead. Customers love it. If my packages get routed to Kansas City though, they usually get put on a truck and make the long drive.

To check metals y’all could try reaching out to local welding or fabrication shops. I used to work in an industrial based industry and sometimes when we needed an “expert” opinion in something we’d reach out to other local shops and those guys usually will have someone who knows a little bit about everything.

Copper can be very hard. It's made in different hardnesses depending on its intended use. It could also be copper over nickel ... Bronze would probably be softer than straight copper, also

Thanks for the Zoro information. Was able to find a coupon for 25% off $100 order and it also works with free shipping so I put in a large box order. Some sizes such as the 8x6x4 are still cheaper to get from the boxery on eBay but for many sizes it's a deal I couldn't pass up.

Doing a little research and I’m wondering if you could use the term copper alloy? Kinda like you mentioned with bronze, ‘alloy’ seems to be copper mixed with other metals? As you mentioned pure copper is soft. So, it would stand to reason its a mix but the primary metal could be copper. I also saw gun metal/red brass but apparently those would be at least slightly magnetic. So you already ruled that out. Only some thoughts…anyway great content as always!

Low Profit Buys, like the electronics: sometimes I opt to add such items to my next Auction Consignment, once I check the comps. Wipe them down, put them in a box, drop them at the auction house and move on. 😉

Here's a USPS head scratcher. We sent an item from NJ to Tampa, Florida via Priority Mail. Normally, that would be delivered in 3 days. This item ended up in St. Paul Minnesota, bounced around 3 different distribution hubs in that state, left Minnesota, finally making it's way to Florida, where it bounced around a couple of distribution centers there and finally was delivered 9 days later. Thankfully, our customer was patient.

As a long-time reseller in Hawaii, I can confirm that 98% of my shipments from Hawaii to the US Mainland that ship via Ground Advantage arrive within a week of shipment. I have confirmed with multiple USPS employees that ground advantage normally gets "upgraded" and ships via air freight.
On some rare occasions (due to high volume), the shipment may take up to 4 weeks for delivery as some mail gets shipped via boat. Additionally, media mail to and from Hawaii has a high chance of it being shipped via boat and can take weeks to get delivered.

I noticed that eBay started adding options for individual items to be marked as hazardous. So my guess is USPS made changes to their logistics to fit Ground Advantage items onto air cargo for faster shipping speed for places like Hawaii and Alaska. I've had a couple Hawaiian orders and they get there in 3-4 days nows which is funny enough faster than shipping to California from here in Ohio.

🔶 🔶🔶 Sad Sad Sad... I wish you hadn't polished the DOG NUTCRACKER, that removed it's lovely original old patina which I prefer. Also, CONSIDER this: If buyers want it polished they may do so themselves BUT if a buyer wants it with the original patina it's now seen as damaged because it cannot be restored, thus you've reduced your buyer pool and may not get top dollar. Plus leaving it as is saves you time... Oh well.
