@@olympicdistillers ah....the title of yoru TH-cam video says Gin and Vodka Infusion Still. I was trying to work out where you were placing your aromatics for the infusion. Assumed you were making a drinking spirit. So what sort of end product purity are you ending up with?
@@PetraKann Gin & vodka is what the still is designed for. It will make 95% if you have the patience. The aromatics go in the top section of the column. A screened gasket must be used to hold them in place. We are only permitted to make fuel.
@@olympicdistillers Really? In Australia distilling ethanol etc is illegal without a license. Even with a license the ethanol excise tax is about $82 per litre of pure ethanol produced. Very expensive. Anyway, good looking rig set up. 95% is a very good end product ABV. Do you remove any of the remaining water from the fuel before you use it in an engine ?
@@PetraKann It is illegal here without a federal permit. No federal tax on fuel, only state sales tax if you sell it. We burn the fuel in a cookstove. No Tax.
I am curious to know what running in "equilibrium" is / does? Also, I noticed that the heads were not discarded in the video or was that just not shown? Very cool setup, impressive engineering!
You build some of the most beautiful set ups I have ever seen. You have inspired me to update my set up
Thank you for your kind words.
An instrument of pure beauty.
Water cooled parrot😯 You a genius man! 👌
A work of art....
Nice setup.
Очень понравилась колонна в работе, прекрасно изготовлена.
Very interesting. I got an ad for this when I was watching mrFreshAsian.
The cap with the thermometer is placed on top without a seal? Won't it leak?
No, it doesnt leak because all the vapor is condensed before it gets to the cap.
No cuts? 😮😮😮
Making fuel
Yeah but how do you separate fore-shots or heads? Does being in reflux mean smearing for purity (azeo)?
That isn't a still, it's a sculpture that makes ethanol.
So you just collect everything from the still in the one large container?
Yes, we are making fuel and there is no need to make cuts.
You dont collect the distillate in separate containers for making cuts later on?
We are making fuel, so there is no need to make cuts. If we were making drinking alcohol, we would make cuts.

what was used for mash and what was the avb ?
Low wine @40 abv?
Oi sou do Brasil, você pode me fornecer o projeto do destilador completo por favor
I'm looking at buying a 20 litre combo keg...would your system fit that?
All of our 2" stills will fit on most modern beer kegs. Dont buy a miller keg, you need a special tool to remove the valve on them.
What percentage does this unit produce over what time?
It will make 92%. you have to slow it down for max proof
it should it go in between the lyne arm and column for better effect and a water cooled parrot ? really
Cool steampunk! ))
Beautiful still sir! I need to make fuel like that, time to get rid of the thumper... 👍🏻

wines don't have heads...your making brandy. you have toxic stuff(heads) when distilling raw mash wash.
Was hoping it got more then 180 proof my pot still gets that with 40% low wines
Неправильно сделанная. В верху где термометр (в закутке) будут подвисать головные фракции и засорять весь погон . Я так думаю . Колонна супер .
parrots smear the cuts
Make first cuts before using the parrot. At the end of the run, just before the tails appear, collect into small containers to avoid smearing.
@@olympicdistillers what does smearing the cuts mean
@@bigredinfinity3126 It means mixing the heads & foreshots with the rest of the run (hearts)
