Specialized Stumpjumper 1991 (Neo)Retro MTB Dream Build "Centuries Connection" by 'ROWERAGE'

This time i've built the steel mountain bike, actually time machine, connecting difeerent centuries with parts used. Frameset is Specialized Stumpjumper from 1991, bought long time ago in Germany as a full bike with decent dx gruopset on it. For 2 years i used it as commuter and biketowork machine. As i am a big big fan of steel bikes from 90's and Sram drivetrain's from 2006-2012 i always had in my head this combo matching black and red details on frame and groupset plus set of Shimano DX brakes, red ones ofc :) Thinking about wheels, it has to be something really special, so i put on set of ceramic version of mavic crossmax slr, rim brake option. Nowadays bike has DX pedals NOS as well but in video i just put on some red platforms. Remember this is a dream build, no rules or red flags, give me some thoughts in the comments if you wish. It’s true 🤣 I had the combo in my head for 2 years before I build the bike. This frameset matches perfectly as well with those components ☺️

Nice build and great video.
I have owned a couple of the chromoly Stumpjumpers, and raced one back in the early 90s.
I will likely do something like this using XT 2x10 on a 90s frame.

Yeah, I understand. Solid cromo frameset from 90’s plus good times drivetrain from Japanese giant. But to be fair I ve tested 10 speed Shimano and Sram looks more durable and trouble free. Shimano was better at 9 spd but 10 sram got the leading. So maybe think about finding some 3x9 if you re the Shimano guy ☺️
