His first action on the record now should have been to apologize to the court, *on the record.* An apology should be at least as public and notable as the offense. A public loud abusive act isn't atoned for by a quiet private apology... even assuming that there was any apology at all.

The court should be respected at all times. Simpson has used his position as chief judge inappropriately to try and get a family member off. He had to work hard to stay a judge. Even a judge can have a skeleton in his closet, and I'm sure that would maybe change the only to something less final.

Watching this after seeing Mr. Bennet get grievanced for threatening the prosecution (which happened about a week after this one) is an extra type of good.
I am so glad that we are able to watch actual court cases. These crooked attorneys and judges should be exposed and held accountable. Judge Simpson and Judge Boyd in Texas are my favorites. Now, this attorney should be held in contempt, in my opinion, for being so disrespectful and he shouldn't get away with his actions. There are plenty of cases where someone will commit an offence and the friends or neighbours will say ‘he was such a nice guy, I never thought he’d do something like this’. Furthermore, he’s an alcoholic, so perhaps while sober he’s the nicest guy in the world, but it sounds like he drank on this night and that’s when he becomes abusive. I doubt it’s the first time this has happened and of course the victim feels guilty because she’s probably been coercively controlled to believe it’s her fault, evidenced by her statement in the letter or on Facebook ‘I know you only did it because I…’ I believe she was trying to keep his keys away from him because he wasn’t supposed to be driving.

Remember, the atty may be a public defender. Overworked and underpaid, case load may be 25-50.

Incorrect. Judge stated multiple times that he has a suspension WITH restrictions. Meaning designated places he's ALLOWED to go.

There are plenty of cases where someone will commit an offence and the friends or neighbours will say ‘he was such a nice guy, I never thought he’d do something like this’. Furthermore, he’s an alcoholic, so perhaps while sober he’s the nicest guy in the world, but it sounds like he drank on this night and that’s when he becomes abusive. I doubt it’s the first time this has happened and of course the victim feels guilty because she’s probably been coercively controlled to believe it’s her fault, evidenced by her statement in the letter or on Facebook ‘I know you only did it because I…’ I believe she was trying to keep his keys away from him because he wasn’t supposed to be driving.
No apologies, just ignored the incident? How disrespectful of the court and Judge Simpson. He is one of the fairest, most beloved of judges and I feel so badly he was treated this way by an attorney of all people.

This defense attorney is a real piece of work! His attitude towards Judge Simpson is simply unbelievably rude and arrogant. No apology. Disgusting behaviour by any attorney and he doesn’t have the self awareness to address that first and at least show respect to the court which was completely absent yesterday. What a pile of 💩
Attorney Bennett is quite the piece of work. Not only does he imply favoritism, he crosses the line again by trying to intimidate the prosecutor. He is not only incompetent he is unprofessional and gives the profession a black eye.

Well that didn't work out too well for the defendant. Having worked in and out of the courts and apology would have been the first thing.Any respectable attorney would have done.
And that’s the whole point - any respectable attorney - no one standing at the podium fit that description.
