- This video goes through all the lore I could find relating to the evil Doctor Wolfenclaw of the Hunter's past in Enter the Gungeon, the Blacksword Organisation, and the doctor's significant connections to the Gungeon.
In German This enemy is called Dr. Wolfenstein

GERMAN TECHNOLOGY IS THE BEST
More partz doesn't make it better
I definitely think dr. Wolfenclaw knows of the Gungeon; because if you do the Hunter’s past co-op, he says to the Cultist: “Oh, and... you. If you want to get back to the Gungeon, I'd hop in one of those cryo-pods for about... fifteen hundred years or so.”
From the wiki:
Convict’s past: If playing in co-op, the Hegemony Goon in the starting cutscene will say “We’ll be taking you and your accomplice in.” instead of “We’ll be taking you in.”
Marine’s past: If in co-op during the past, the scientist in the ending cutscene will say “We're all still alive because of you... and your... little friend?”
Pilot’s past: If you beat the Pilot’s past in co-op, Z will say “I can't believe you did that! Where did you learn those moves? And who is that?”
Bullet’s past: The Cultist will get a wooden Blasphemy too in The Bullet's past. [The wiki doesn’t say if there’s any changed dialogue, and I personally haven’t gotten to the bullet’s past in co-op yet, (or to the bullet’s past at all); so I don’t know if there is any and the wiki just hasn’t been updated. ]
Robot’s past: [There is no mention of the co-op past for the robot on the wiki; and I also haven’t reached the Robot’s past (co-op or otherwise), so I can’t tell you if there is any dialogue changes.]
It’s interesting because only Dr. Wolfenclaw knows EXACTLY who the Cultist is, and where they’re from; all other characters in the past have no idea where this kid came from.
after reading this, I think the cultist might be an oblivious black sword member who doesn't even know he was fighting with the people that were against the group he was in.
@@charbomber110 No, he is a kid who spilled apple juice on the couche
Guys you are so wrong. The hunter is talking to him.
Curse is also applied when using melee weapons in the Gungeon such as Fightsabre, Excaliber, Huntsman, Casey, Boxing Glove or Wood Beam, so maybe the particle effect comes from the relic being a sword?
Albert Ślusarek It could, but its never shown that Dr. Wolfenclaw's lab is near or in the gungeon.
In gungeon lore it is said multiple times that melee weaponry “angers the jammed” so likely any and all melee weaponry is cursed for this reason. However why these items are cursed when outside the gungeon lightyears away from any jammed is unknown. 🤷♀️
@@flandrescarlet6642 A case could be made that the Gungeon is everything. The Gungeon is you. The Gungeon is me. The Gungeon is life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

I click and I see you're normal comment I just look at it and it says nice prank Nickelodeon.... really TH-cam.
Maybe the Relic came from the gungeon. It appears to be a sword, and the gungeon does refuse to let any non-guns come into the gungeon, therefor cursing all swords. So if this sword did come from the gungeon, it would have the curse effect. So is the Dr. harnessing curse to power his robot??
Blasphemy.
It was originally attuned to blades, as shown by gunslinger’s exit from the gungeon at the end of a run. It looks like a sword.
the sword does have the curse kind of glow around it
Just waiting for more playable characters, love your videos btw.
The last 10 seconds.
HEY KID WANNA BUY A USED GUN?
Looks like Invader Zim
The monster more closely resembles Mecha-Hitler than it does a zitadelle.
Make a video about:
Is it possible to exit the Gungeon?
I'm probably going to cover it if I talk at length about alternate dimensions and inter-planar travel.
That's not a joke by the way, I've looked at length into the nature of the alternate dimensions of the Gungeon.
The main characters seem to be shot out from the Gungeon after beating The Lich.
So definitively possible. 99% chances that it involves using the Gun That Kills The Past.
The characters never get a significant distance from the Gungeon though. The Ledge Goblin states that she was able to fly her ship several miles away from the Gungeon before it dragged her back.
In theory, characters could easily walk quite a ways away from the actual building, it's more like they're refined to a radius of a few miles around the Gungeon itself.
"but first... we need to talk about parallel universes."

would there be enough material to make a lore video on the cultist?
I've noticed a couple of little things you didn't mention - you pointed out the Monster's eagle-shaped attack, but its lightning storm attack looks like it's specifically shaped like the greek letter Koppa (ϟ) which was infamously used in the flag for the Schutzstaffel, or SS. So more 'space Nazi' jokes. Also, the relic the hunter is searching for looks a lot like the Magic Sword from the first Legend of Zelda game. There's only so many ways you can make a pixellated sword look, but I feel like it's connected to the Bullet's past somehow.
I'm pretty sure that its just a lightning attack, the chance that it's related to the greek letter Koppa and by extension the nazis is most likely coincidental, however I was definitely picking up some pho nazi vibes in general. however the design of the sword is eerily similar to the hero's sword you see when getting all the pieces of the floors map.
Your comment got liked 69 times.
I'm surprised you didn't mention that when the Cultist follows you to the hunter's past, Dr. Wolfenclaw tells the Cultist to wait 1,500 years to get back to the gungeon. Granted I learned that from the Wiki but you could've mentioned it at least.
I planned on mentioning it, but I couldn't find any proof that he actually said it.
In the text dumps, that line is stored along with the final lines delivered by the Hunter. All lines delivered by wolf have the name 'Wolf' in their string name, except for that one.
With all of that, I was forced to assume that the Wiki is wrong.
If I'm proven wrong on that however, I'll mention it in future, because that would be huge.
I love how often you upload, never stop 💜
I’m forever thankful for these videos.
Space Nazis? That's interesting.
Glad the organization is called "black sword" instead of "Black hand" too many secret groups called that.
Good video as always, I was curious about that guy. And I saw your bit about the Muncher ;3 hehe
I don't think that's a picture of a Dragun, maybe the Resourceful Rat?
its possible that the sword is the same sword on the knife sheild and those could be refrences to something deemed "unholey" like blasphamy or maybe like the unused ceramonial sword that's been bludgeoned

4:56 As seen after killing the Lich, the seas of Gunnymede are not always purple. Whether this is due to normal weather conditions or some effect that began after the events depicted after the Lich ending is unclear, but it's probably safe to assume that the purple effect started after Wolfenclaw's time and probably doesn't encompass the whole world. If that's not enough, the globes seen in the Keep of the Lead lord depict a world that's blue and green like Earth.
The bones of a theory-
So, when the Gungeon was created, it was because the Gunslinger (and possibly the Abbey of the True Gun) prayed to Kaliber. She sent down the bullet, destroying the keep that stood there previosuly and allowing it to be rebuilt as the Gungeon, also turning the Gunslinger into the Lich so that he could work on gunsmithing forever(?)
Well, in the Gunslinger's past, we see that before, the old keep is rather sword shaped. And we now know from the developers that Gungeon 2 will be called "Towards the Swordtress", using the same screen from the Gunslinger's past.
In the Huntresses past, Dr. Wolfenclaw is using a sword for his experiment, working on something for his "bogus religion", as the Huntress calls it, the Blacksword Organization.
Could it be that her past, 1,147 years ago, takes place before sometime before the Gunslinger created the Gungeon?
Towards the swordtress was a joke said during a twitch stream I don’t think it’s real
@@pormpfspimperton6804 Maybe not Swordtress, but the developers did say that they wanted another game like gungeon with better sword mechanics. So something similar is possible.
Also the sub text from the dog item, "Junior II", implies that the original Junior was left to die while the hunter was frozen.
I’m glad that the “kapulfs” have stopped happening at the beginning of your videos. Who knows why they happened. Also, I don’t know how you can put all this together, or even find it in the first place! It’s absolutely incredible! Love the vids man! Don’t take guns from random munchers btw
That munscher seems pretty dangerous KIDS STAY AWAY FROM THE MUNSCHER
Rubenstein's Monster v. Wolfenclaw's monster, accepting all bets here.
the laser door blocker is seen in the R&G department if im correct. Idk if this came out before that existed though
Dr.wolfenclaw mention the gungeon in co op mode
dr Wolfenclaw seems like the only villain in enter the gungeon (i might be wrong)
azai morris The lich?
I think it the cultist
@@SammOBracketBracketBracket
You entered Bullet Hell by your own free will and challenged him.
no the cultist is innocent !
There's the guy in Convict's past
Cool video! Do you think you could do a video on how the Bullet awakened Blasphemy without killing Canon?
Dr wolf s machine looks like the portal machine in the marine s past
Maybe he dies instantly when you kill him maybe he has a link to the monster or something
Dr. Wolf’s “Moncher” is my new favorite character. I trust his secondhand firearms.
the black sword and the relic may be the reason jammed exist with their hatred for swords
I know the video is old, but since FTTA we know that before the bullet hit the gungeon, it was a sword oriented dungeon
Who likes the video before actually watching ( I do watch it though )

Not important to the lore but the sword's name and Sprite is very similar to the magic sword from the original Zelda game
The hunter has a dog named junior 2 and in the past you have junior 1, she gets cryofreezed and the dog doesn't because they are not present in the gungeon.
muncher: Hey kid wanna buy used guns.
Me: *GUNS DOWN THE MUNCHER* no thank you.
I feel that the relic might be blasphemy, as it being one of the few swords in the gungeon, and dr. wolfenclaw has obviously studied the gungeon
i always thing the sword is the bullets sword
The one thing I don’t like about gungeon is the players interactions. They never speak to each other or anything despite being stuck in the gungeon together. The only dialogue I’ve ever seen them say to each other was “change character?”
What if in a past timeline the Hunter got the relic, then Doctor Wolfenclaw went to the gungeon and studied the gungeon maybe at this time the old king still the normal king struck a deal with Doctor Wolfenclaw to allow him to use the bullet that kills your past allowing him to get the relic but fearing the breaking of time and space or for other reason spared the hunter then the hunter would have tried to get the relic back only to fail and be cryo frozen wanting some kick ass revenge.
Monster can be reference to hitler or other boss from wolfenstein 3D
I didn't know Dr. Wolf loves schnitzels.
This past in my opinion is the easiest not only do you have 2 great weapons you have a great amount of ammo too
Is it just me or the hunter reminds me of alyx from hl2 also she had a robot named dog and she is agains a company named black mesa
5:32 its a minotaur look at its legs
Yo satyrs are half-man half-goat, hooves don't make a difference
I think it's satan, it's not unusual for him to be shown with goat legs
Faz legendas em português gostaria muito de entender os vídeos
If the hunter is a reference to Wolfenstein and the Marie is a reference to Doom could they be related(not going to explain because that means going through the lore of two games)
Maybe since the hunter was put in the cryo pod over time he could've used the relic and made the gungeons monsters and maybe the gungeon idk but hmmm
Actually the hunters old dog, junior, kills wolfenclaw. He bites him after you kill the monster
It would make more scene if dr wolf went berserk and chased you like a gunsinger
*after his monster dies
It is entirely possible that the sword in the tapestry in’s the great sword BLASPHEMY.
I have vid idea the shop keeper has a weird quote saying Folks tell of a great one eyed beast with a score of arms and a gun for each one. Wouldn’t want to run into him! Idk what this is so if u want to try then go ahead
MacSlash It's the Beholster.
@@gatunhame Mystery Solved.
Maybe wolfenclaw intended to become the gungeon master himself, so he can rule it or take over it. Maybe he knew about the gun that can kill the past and maybe could also use it to either save himself in case of his defeat, or change the past so it can help him out with his plans. Im not that familiar with etg's lore but i just threw some suggestions.
Wolvenclaw is strangely similar to the gunsingers....
Wonder what this could mean?
Would explain why they look so old... Maybe Wolvenclaw cloned himself? He probably has the means to do it
So that means the hunter is over 1000 years old...
aww man it makes me sad that jr probably died because of age or something
Throughout the video I noticed some popping noises. Maybe try doing softer Ps and Bs or speaking a little bit away from the mic? Or hold a rag or a piece of cloth between your mouth and the mic when you record so those popping noises don't come up on your recording.
Hey never did you know if you type in console "give gunslinger_gun" it gives you the unfinished one?
"The relic" is blasphemy
So much lore for a game that has no interest in addressing it.
Although the Hunter's past takes place 1,147 years ago, the "Relic" that Dr. Wolfenclaw uses to power the machine, has the particle effect of curse. now...most cursed items are items that would be seen as blasphemy to the order of the true gun. (Elder blank, knife shield, huntsman, Excalibur, and Casey to name a few.) [P.S. Yes I'm aware not all cursed items are like this] However, even though again...there is little evidence besides the sprite of the "Relic" and the fact it is cursed, and named the "Magic Sword" I have my own personnel theory, (That is kinda stupid) This theory is...that the "Relic" is the Ancient magic sword...Blasphemy. Also! Yes I am aware that Blasphemy is not a cursed item in game..however that is simply for gameplay...because it is a starting weapon....but in universe/Lore it would most likely be a cursed object...I mean, it's literally called "Blasphemy." I know there is not a lot of evidence...but it's a cool way to look at it. also makes The Bullet more badass. My small amount of useless evidence is the sprite being, sorta alike....and it also being called the "Magic Sword"....and the fact it is a cursed sword (Melee weapon) like Blasphemy. (Yes Again...I know Blasphemy is not cursed in game, but in universe/Lore it most likely is, from what we know about the order of the true gun.)
DR WOLFS MUNCHER
The sword that can kill the past
Tbh I think it’s not unlikely that the black sword are just actual nazis, or a remnant of ww2 Germany at least. The timelines and the guns hunter uses in the past would line up.
Maybe the magic sword is the same as the one the bullet uses
Can you fully cover yourself with guon stones
nazis were obsessed with the occult.....at least himmler and the ss....they did odd shit in temple's they built all sorts of rituals
So Dr Wolf's part of the ocassus?
Yr vids are original and great but y don't u have more subs!
What happened? Why aren't you recording anymore?
My video production has slowed down, and I really am sorry for that, but I'm trying to focus on my health and all that stuff, particularly my sleep.
I've not completely stopped however, as I'm continuing to work on videos, it's just going slower.
Again, I'm really sorry, and I feel really guilty for it, but if I let it keep me up till 3am editing, it's going to tear me apart.
Nevernamed Man, i understand.
I want you alive, not half dead ;)
Take it easy, take your time.
@@Nevernamed take your time bro no need to feel guilty
It could just be a bullet skull, not the door lord.
that end tho
Just beat this past so yeet
This just like Indiana Jones
lmfao the end
dank vid subbed
It's certainly possible that even after using the Gun, you are still technically in the Gungeon, tainting the Pasts. Then again, I don't know anything about the other pasts, so I have no proof of anything.
Lich lore ?
No kapulf no like >:(
Was blasphamy the relic? We may never know.... But maybe?
Who created the gungeon anyways?
Big bullet did
Honestly for the first past I beat he was way to easy
Ok I paused the video really early on but... The relic? It kind of looks like the centerpieces of the old King's crown (if you turn it upside down). So, may be a stretch, may be linked to his power
Edit: I watched more and it now seems unlikely based on the hilt. But I do find the link between wolfenclaw and gungeon fascinating
You're adorable!
yeet
That gameplay was so bad bro
I know that this video was released before farewell to arms, bur the fact that the marines door blocker was found also in the second half of the RNG department may be important
sooooo wolfenclaw is a nazi?
