only 5 people should've gotten it, Ambeskovic had the softest knees I've ever seen passed in any deadlift form, holy shit that that passed. And then they say that the judging was strict, naah
He held the bar with slightly bent knees for about 3 secs, then straightened them. I'd say that was a good lift.
@@melancholy348 check his knees compared to the others, they were nowhere near locked out. Yes he straightened them up slightly, but not enough for a good lift. Should've been disallowed
@@NatureFavor Have to agree, his knees were very very bent.
I agree the knees look soft but you got to remember the camera angle is from a birds eye angle almost so it makes the lock outs look worst compared to ground lvl.
@@vincentchao9916 and that's why it's so clear, if you can clearly see that the knees are soft from birds eye view, surely the head ref must see and recognize it aswell. As I said to the other guy, you can simply just compare his knees compared to e.g Bishops, you can clearly see fully locked out knees vs not fully locked out
This is amazing! Man 3 to 5 years from now we are gonna see these guys pulling 1500 pounds. Absolutely incredible!
rumour has it that if you wander around the Scottish highlands on a cool winter morning you'll hear Luke Stoltman's voice reverberating around the hills.
unreal that an injured oleksii lifted 1000lbs. incredible
edit: WTF Evan's power off the floor WOW
1:14 " Can I get a oh yeahhhhhhhhh" 😂😂😂
oh my dude, Novikiov really fought for that one, well done
Even with all the recent hype, the months of training, the huge opportunity, they couldn't come close to Thor and Eddie on the day. Nothing but respect to all the lifters, amazing strength, but shows once again how impressive a feat 500kg truly is.
i think the iranian guy, if he was there, he can
@@kamukaze1 He did 492kg in a really sketchy setup, impressive nonetheless. I think Asko could do 505.
@@ks7266 Wait a few years, these guys from Ukraine (Novikov and Nakonechny) are only 24 years old, another year, two, and they will have the record!
*you goddamn right!* 💀💀💀
Singletons off the floor power is insane
Such a nice sense of comradry in this sport! That's what sports should be all about!!
Singleton and Novikov are on fire bruh
I was there last night and it was a great evening with some very impressive displays of strength - the funny bit was seeing a 6’ 3” 25 stone bloke walking round with a guard dog - Big Ed Hall - lm not joking he had a Alsatian/ German Shepherd following him round - honestly !!! 😂😂😂
Pavlo is the future of static strongman. All these men were amazing. Ivan 475 lift was great to so quick of the floor
A lot of people will gloss over Peña's deadlift but the fact that he's Mexico, which I didn't know there was even one strongman from there is impressive in itself, as us Mexicans are not known for our superhuman strength like the Slav or Nordic folk.
He's from America, but represents Mexico because his dad is Mexican.
@@actualtuna5428 Ohh thank you for clarifying, still an honor to have him represent Mexico tho
@@zanidgar5640 no worries, he's an amazing athlete regardless
1:14 "Can I get an OOHHH YEEAAHHH" 😂😂😂😂
I'm really surprised by Novikov's deadlift. It improved massively.
For a 23year old Pablo is something..damn he is strong..good form too..
Adam probably made it look the easiest out the 6 there.
Also the only one of these guys that chose to try 475, and he came ever so close
So did Pavlo.
I would love to see deadlift competitions absolutely raw and with strict rules. This is a circus freak show. A belt, chalk and sheer power. That's it. These events are like wrestling, Olympic weightlifting are the ultimate strength sport.
go watch that then, people want to see how far humans can go here so bugger off if you dont like it haha
Well Olympic weightlifting is mostly testing explosive power in 2 highly technical movements, not the best indicator on how well-rounded someone is overall.
0:07 I thought he was dancing for a second there.
Imagine robbing a house and all these guys are hanging out there
Can we all take a moment and appreciate how effortless Thor made the 501 WR look in comparison to these guys struggling with 450 and 475.
501 is not an official world record. Eddie hall still has the world record. A gym lift is not a record no matter if you have judges. Has be done in competition
@@iahomesteader4691 I would suggest you go and watch it again.
@@iahomesteader4691 Thor did the exact same previous weights that Eddie did.
The "it has to be done in a competition" nonsense is just pathetic. He liftet 501kg under strict supervision. He is holding the WR. Giants Live not recognising Thors lift is a shameful attempt to keep the monopoly on world records. It's just for the money and defending that stance makes you look like a clown.
My bad. I guess I had only seen the 501 lift posted by Rogue Fitness
watching this is amazing, that eddie made 465 look like a joke was so cool and now people are getting closer and closer. i think we are gonna see 505 VERY soon.
A few of those passes were extremely generous. Didn’t actually lock out
Nice that you have a higher standard than Magnus Ver Magnussen🤣
Man the goosebumps are Real watching this!
I promise to you. The only deadlift record, done by Benni, will stay for decades...all hail to the king!
@VVoOꟻF what lol?? There's no even someone who comes close to Andys record...
Thankyou, you're so right, all these crappy athletes would be nothing without there precious straps cus they too lazy to train grip lol
Benni's deadlift was faster and cleaner than any of these lifts in suits, plus he did it raw with a stiff bar. What a legend!
Никогда не понимал этих убийц своего позвоночника...
Они все уже мертвы,просто ещё этого не осознали!
Adam bishop really took 453 for a speed rep 😂
Михаил Шивляков молодец, приятно смотреть, когда искренне радуется за своих)
Still 56 kg short of Thors and Eddie Hall dead lift record but still impressive.
47.5kg
Still a big milestone. Then we have Makarov who did 475 and came quite close to 505, I'd say he's the top contender to break the world record right now.
@@baconfromhell666 I’m very surprised the record didn’t fall, I would’ve put money on Pavlo, Ivan and Asko all to break the record
@@Stevelangdon93 When I saw Ivan pull 475, I really thought he had 505. But it seems like we're getting closer and closer to breaking that record, so hopefully it falls the next chance these guys get!
@@Stevelangdon93 Pavlo was sick apparently.
my beer can do this, hold me
Looked like an amazing contest so gutted I couldn't get there
"smack the heck out of those quads and hammies, and a good smack in the face is all you need," says big Bill Kazmier.
These guys are pretty strong. I don't think I could lift that.
Prolly not
It‘s up to your daily form
You can do anything if you set your mind to it.
Or so they say.
453.5? I currently can't lift that in lbs 😭
HOLY SHIT at 1:14 someone in the crowd shouts "can I get a Hoo yeaaaah?"
2:40 fuerza mexicana🇲🇽🇲🇽💪💪
Novikov proving wrong all the people saying he lacked static power in emphatic style.
Eddie Hall will always be the first person to lift half a ton. Still the current world record is with Hafthor Björnson. He did lift 501kg under strict supervision and not recognizing that makes the haters look like clowns.
just in case anybody can't remember, Benedikt magnusson lifted 1015 pounds, raw, no suit, no straps almost a decade ago.
"I HAVE NOO IDEA WHAT THAT MAN SAID, BUT HE MENT EVERY WORD OF IT!!!!"
Jamals turn to pull that 😅
Frrrr
Question is where he would be able to do that. His grip is the hinderance in powerlifting and they don't allow straps and In strongman you're not allowed to pull sumo.
@@pepsicat I mean he did pull 900+ pounds on convo tho if really trained for it he probably could
I have no idea what that man said, but he meant every last word of it😅🤣🤣🤣
Impressive lifts all around. But not recognising Thor's 501kg as the WR is a shitty move by Giants Live (or Neil Pickup at least).
From the wording used, Eddie's record is recognised as the competition world record, whereas Thor's 501kg is the overall record
@@bigmanmoto oh I see, thanks. I still find that wording a bit strange though.
It makes me wonder if they had a line in their contract or something to not mention it. I watched the livestream yesterday and Kaz slipped once and said "break the 501", but that was the only mention I heard.
This is amazing 👏 superb athletes. I'm surprised videos like these don't get more veiws
When is someone gonna break the real deadlift record of 1015 by bennie magnuson, it's like these dudes are AMAZING but they wouldn't be nearly as good without there precious straps
@@SomebodyBanThatGuy what abt the deadlift suit, I used to live watching this stuff until I learned they were suits that assist them
That would be someone else, Strongman are not powerlifter and most will not compete in powerlifting or would even if they could break the world record in the deadlift for example, not saying that there are anyone atm that has a chance at the raw deadlift wr but there is neither any incentive since there is no money and no big talk about the PL record now that 500kg in strongman has overshadowed it for causal fans.
@@pepsicat yeah ik ant powerlifting and all that the only thing ik upset abt is the fact that a powerlifting deadlift is a real deadlift and then you have this equipped contraption and no body wants to go for the raw record, nobody everybody wanna go for that equipped record that's my prob I love what these guys are doing o have nothing against it I just feel like the 1015 wr deadlift is the most underrated feat of strength of all time I mean cmon that is just crazy impressive
@@lawrence675a It's appreciated by strength fans just not casual fans. Strongman is also a bit more popular than powerlifting so that's mostly why the 460 is overshadowed.
@@lawrence675a don't forget that extreme sumo deads are allowed in powerlifting. Im not sure that's more legit than deadlift with straps. Raw and conventional is the real king
What a BEASTlY build that last guy had. Looked like he could Smash through a Brick Wall. The Mexican guy who looked like a Viking is a new face. Never seen him in any of the many Strongman videos watch. Anywhere. Singleton got that lift off that floor fast too. Learning something with Shaw.
Novikov with injury still got 1000..whatt
