Unfortunately… no, it doesn’t sell nor is it made for a wide enough audiences _and it’s from Ubisoft_ but that’s what makes video games like these special right? The developer’s true self-expression, their goals and view truly formed into something, _maybe it’s better to leave it that way…_ but I won’t complain if Child of Light 2 was a thing
Stocke this video was EXCELLENT. It looks like I need to pick up Child of Light sometime. It looks so interesting, and like you, I saw it many times on the eShop and other stores but never looked beyond that. I really like your take on the overall playtime of Child of Light (Wow, something that doesn't take 200 hours to beat?!) being a positive. You have an easy to understand voice that is loud, clear and comforting to listen to. At times this video feels as if you are telling a good friend about the game while you sit at a traffic light, as in the dialogue comes off natural. That's a good thing to me! Solid video review!
Thank you so much Xurkey I’m glad you enjoyed it! YESS Agreed the short length of the game was welcome, especially compared to RPGs similar to it. I love making them so I’ll keep doing my best to keep learning & improving!
Unlike Stocke, I’ve been interested in Child of Light since it came out, but I’m ashamed to say I never bought it until people pointed out its leitmotifs showing up in Bloodstained trailers. For some reason I held off for almost a decade. I think part of it was a Critical Miss comic making fun on the game’s poetic nature. I didn’t want to let that color my feelings about the game, but I think it did, at least on a subconscious level. Still, even if it took this crossover to finally motivate me to play Aurora’s adventure, I’m glad it finally happened regardless.
I happened upon Child of Light solely because it was a free game on XBox live years ago. Man…I almost feel bad for those who haven’t played it. It’s not the most technical game by any stretch, but the art style plus the devastatingly sad story and the *incredible* music courtesy of Coeur de Pirate left a permanent imprint on me.
Agreed 100%. It’s a little gem of a title I hope more people can experience if they’re interested. The music is worth listening to on its own, if anything! I didn’t mention the music enough in this video but yes it’s genuinely fantastic 😭
I need to jump on the Child of Light DLC for Bloodstained once work slows down a bit. I'm ecstatic you loved the original, it's honestly one of the finest RPGs of it's era. Also, seeing you're a "fighting game fanatic", when are we seeing the Castlevania Judgement breakdown? lol
You should! Very fun mode that absolutely captures the essence of Child of Light. Really hope to see more from the series in the future, although it’s unlikely 😔 And YES a Judgment video would be super fun haha. I’ve talked about it a bit in the Lecard & "Every single character" videos but making one focused on it would be interesting… I have a lot of thoughts on that game. Stay Tuned 👀
It does look very pleasant to look at. The kind of game that i would just chill sometimes and roam just for the sake of being there. If you're playing stuff similar to Castlevania but that are not, i'll have to recommend Boktai again. I have been just replaying them and they help to aleviate some of that hunger for a new castlevania game that i know will not come out.
Ahh I remember this game! I think you mentioned it a while ago but I know Alucards VA is in it too. Very interesting game I’d love to play it one day, might make a video on it if you guys want 👀 But I definitely hope to try it myself it looks dope ESPECIALLY the GBA graphics
Let’s go! I hope you have a great time with it, such an underrated and fun little game. Beautiful and unique, definitely worth seeing through to the end 😁 Not familiar with Pans Labyrinth but if it’s similar I’ll have to check it out sometime 😮
@@StockeTepes Yes, it's really fun and I love the art style. Pan's Labyrinth is a tragic tale about a young girl who goes through magical trails. It's by Guillermo del Toro movie from the 00's I loved as kid!
The Bloodstained playthrough with Aurora is definitely worth going through if you’re a fan yeah! You’re going to catch all the references and callbacks they made to Child of Light, which is where a lot of my enjoyment came from during it as well 🤣
@Nox.x_ART huh, to be honest that's to be expected - the difference between Russian and French/English is enormous, yet they still succeeded. For example, the Russian translation of the Witcher 3 really missed some pretty significant points in translation despite the original being in Polish - a language much closer to Russian than either English or French. But the Witcher 3 is a much larger game than the CoL, so the mistakes are negligible. Anyway, these just my 2 kopeks why I agree that the creators did a tremendous job here.
how do you get this game to work on win 11? FIX : there is a post on reddit on how to fix this if your cpu can handle over 16 threads it crashes you trick it by only letting it see 16 or less threads available
Are you playing on Steam or Epic Games? Or another launcher? Usually for PC, updating your graphics card or updating firmware on anything you’re using can help with troubleshooting if you’re having any issues. Child of Light isn’t necessary a demanding game to run lol so, I hope you figure out the issue 🥲
@@StockeTepes ubisoft connect launcher once i built my new pc installed windows updated drivers ect downloaded steam and connect ......screen turns white then goes back to windows like i didnt do anything from my research most have this problem
@@dethraid The Ubisoft launcher might be your issue if it isn’t hardware related. I’d recommend the Switch version as I said in the video, as it’s the definitive one, but if the version on your PC is the only option for you to play it then yes that’s very tricky 🤔 If other games run on the Ubisoft launcher for you, I’d recommend trying to get a refund as at that point it might be an optimization issue of their part. The game likely hasn’t been updated in years after all.
@ i found a forum post about downloading something and limiting the cores of cpu it sees to 8 or something so it might be that i upgraded from a 4 core cpu to a 14 core im gonna try the fix sometime in next week or so when im not sick ill comment if it works or not
You know, Bloodstained’s 2 crossovers is Blasphemous and Child of Light, indie Metroidvania games with a poetic nature that talks in flowery manners… _kinda funny how the two game and even crossover style are total opposites though_ One of the last content drop, Child of Light, gameplay wise, it is… good, it’s fitting for a character such as her, _visually and dialogue wise however…_ especially in comparison to the original game but I digress _Also sister mode sux, 0/10,_ why do AAA RPG games usually tries to have the fabled _endless content_ stuff when said content is repeats or escort missions? Who knows… I don’t have much word to say do I? These are basically filler-
Do you think it’s possible Child of Light 2 will ever be made?

Hey, FEXL got made.
You never know!
No.... I mean they did tease it years ago and look where we are now!
No and i think its good a remastered variant would be nice but a completely new game just wouldn’t fit right with the lore

Child of Light is so atmospheric and one of my favorite games of all time. It feels like a whole experience, and no game has quite reminded me of it.
Agreed. There’s not really a vibe in any other video game that captures what Child of Light had imo. A wondrous atmosphere like nothing else
Definitely picking this up thanks to you, Great job as always!
You ROCK and got me Stocked!!! ,,, amazing video i just stumbled upon just like you with COL! Cheers to an unravalled Castlevania FAN!
I’m late replaying to this comment but thank you so much 😆 Will do my best to keep learning & improving these videos!

A beautiful game, and one of my favorites
really underrated channel for the dedication and quality of your content
If you look up dates you’d realize it took Aurora less than 2 days to journey throughout the entirety of lemuria.
That’s a fascinating implication 😱 I never noticed if that’s true
Also the closest irl Austrian royal birth year to 1850 is Elisabeth who was born 1854.
Best Ubisoft's game. Not even POP can compare.
Without a doubt, the best I’ve experienced! I’m so happy to see people still enjoy this game 🥹

Both games are awesome! ❤️🖤
Never expected the crossover honestly but I’m happy so many people could enjoy the connection they now share!
I wonder if they'll make a 2nd game
One day, I hope so! There’s definitely a lot with Child of Light they can follow up with established in the game

I'm brasilian. I play this games in portuguese. And yes, is a poem in portuguese too.

Child of Light has the best original soundtrack of all time.
One of the best aspects about the experience no doubt. I still listen to songs from the OST from time to time
Dark Creatures is amazing. Another game I'm waiting for is Expedition 33. The music and art reminded me of this game.
Can you do castlevania 3 endings pls
Eventually I'd love to cover every Castlevania game here, although maybe after the videos I have planned and a break from CV haha.
