Please keep style the same. I have been watching you since the start of the round house which was years ago and never got bored. In fact, your video is very relaxing with silent moments when there are no talking but you can hear machines or birds in the background or the stream flowing etc. Its like therapy lol, seriously. So just keep doing what you are doing and how you doing it because thats what makes your channel so unique.

i think you do a nice blend of talking and just showing. no need to talk all the way through. most of the stuff is pretty self explanatory just by watching the process, and you usually cover stuff that needs explanation pretty well

40 odd years ago when my wife and I moved into our home all I had was an electric drill and saw attachment. Now I have all I could possibly have dreamed of - but age has crept up on me. Thod it. Great video youg man. Don't change ANYTHING, if you do it won't be you.
I was thinking of how you could present the making of the greenhouse. When you started the workshop you had a little model you used to explain what you were doing. It made everything so clear. I think you know enough now about making entertaining, inspirational, educational videos to not need a lot of assistance, TBH.
I like the idea of talking through each joint, Layout especially, even though you are not an "expert" you know more than I do and I enjoy hearing a "new/ different " perspective on this type of construction. Keep up the great work.
Maybe a How-To playlist? That way you can keep what you're doing now, but have an 'extras' type video that people can click if they want more info. Either way, love what you're doing and how you do it, will happily watch whatever you put up.

Those sleepers look like Australian Redgum. Used here for the same purpose. Excellent timber and also used for furniture, decorative pieces, flooring and more.

As far as the draw-boring goes, the rhyme to remember it is "to the shoulder from the face brings the joint up into place". As far as ideas go, my vote is to spend time on the intricacies of each "type" joint, not each joint. Then montage your way through to the next unique joint, stopping at the points we're you need to make decisions, impromptu design considerations, or god forbid mistakes and you can talk us through the problem solving process. Oh, and maybe a short video where you use a bit of that beautiful wood to make yourself a nice replacement handle for that hand saw. That orange thing is absolutely shocking to look at. Great stuff Kris.
To be completely honest I’ve been watching you since you first started the round house and I’ve enjoyed everything. If you put out 2 hour videos daily I’d be thrilled. I’m very envious of your property and life so keep up the good work so I can live vicariously through you.....lmao. No I don’t expect a 2 hour daily vid....lol
I am of the belief That a shop that is to tidy is a shop that is not busy. & a clean shop is one that as died & got nothing to do .unlike my work shop that is untidy because i can't get & tidy it because of my arthritis , in short i have got past caring if it tidy or not . you is very clean compered to me .

Regards the content, I asked for in depth explanations. For me it would cover each different style joint, perhaps your understanding why one joint is used over another in a particular location. Maybe a cut sheet for the frame, maybe show us one complete bent. I’m wanting to take the videos and apply it to my own project which will be horses initially, graduating to a summer house a few years from now. I also like to hear your words on your lifestyle and how you came hear. Anything that your comfortable with, from funding your weeks, the sacrifices, your overview of politics/governments etc etc thanks in advance, soon be time fo me to break out your hoodie again 👍

Hi mate, bloody hell those things look strong! and they will last a lifetime. A very simple but strong and functional construction ...another great Kris build! Video style wise I think you’ve got a perfect balance with the way you do things. I love the fact there’s no music and as others have said you often hear the wildlife in the background. I’d like to see a bit more of your everyday life kind of stuff, how you maintain the land and any maintenance or monitoring of your woodland and buildings etc. Would love an update on the wind turbine too (every time I see it I’m literally blown away!!) but I do think you’re doing things perfectly, it’s definitely an armchair education for me and always thoroughly enjoyable whatever the content. Thanks as always for the effort that goes into creating these videos I know it’s a lot of work! Also saw your play button up there too congrats buddy you’ve definitely earned that!
Id love a how to series on it. And of course there probably will be bits to fastspeed, but im a passionate learner and really enjoy the way you explane and show.
I like the talking and just working on things, with occasionally showing proportions and thoughts on why you chose to use a certain technique or whatever. With this video, I found myself guesstimating proportions and trying to figure out the ideal height for sawhorses. Elsewhere I found the answer to the latter question, but it's a bit um, less than polite. :D Mr.Chickadee style videos are also very pleasing, but then a lot of information I'd have to figure out myself.
Love your videos. I think your content is wonderful. For you timber frame i think the detail on different joints including the layout in different videos would be great. Great use of the off cuts.

The way you are making your videos is great! I am always entertained by then even if they are 30 minutes or longer. You don't even notice it. And when they are over I am sometimes sad that they are. You are an inspiration to just go and do things even though one might not be an expert at something. I hope one day I will be able to work on some of my own project like yours in my free time in a balance with nature and always aware of usage for resources. Keep up the great work and thank you for your videos.
Chris , nice trestles, if you whack the all the pegs in as far as you can then go round again they will always go a couple of taps more . I don't know why this is but it's almost like they need a short rest . Can't wait to see how you tackle the frame , if you have corner braces the pegs will need to draw both in and along the mortise. i.e diagonally offset from the prick mark . My requests for your upcoming timber framing video are as follows: explain your design choices - timber sizes, joint sizes, the order of tasks, overview of load estimates, and aesthetic considerations. Also, I would be interested in those little tricks you have come up with to make things easier or avoid common mistakes.
Beautiful use of the offcuts -- those sawhorses are so solid they could serve as a trestle bridge for the trains that used to run on them! As for video format, I'd watch four that were exactly the same and not complain. You've got the magic knack for making entertaining vids, so I'm sure whatever plan you come up with will be a winner!
Beautiful work as always fella. Nice one!! You've probably thought of it, but small feet on the bases will allow them to find a flat surface easier than the whole area of the bases potentially wobbling over a stone or little scrap of wood on the floor. I've started building my horses three legged as im often not on flat ground and they sit better without rocking! Slowly building a shed though, just need to find something to make a floor, it's just black. Sand here!! On the subject of content, i think do as you have been, but maybe in addition, a shorter section or separate video showing details of things, sharpening, marking out, cutting accuracy, material selection etc. Simple stuff for many but essential to as many still!! We're all (hopefully!!!) still learning every day!! Again, awesome work mate. Keep it up!! When the travel is opened up again i have some friends near you id like to visit, they have a distillery, ill bring you something to warm you on the chilly nights! It's a bright, chilly morning here in western Australia and im struggling to get started welding roof trusses as im catching up with your channel still!!

maybe you could take us through one piece of timbers ''life cycle'' in detail, from measuring up for it, selecting the right piece, marking out and cutting the the joints. your videos also have a laid back, kinda chill vibe even though you're doing quite heavy work. it'd be a shame to lose that side of it. decided I'd better subscribe after enjoying the last 5 or so videos.

To be completely honest I’ve been watching you since you first started the round house and I’ve enjoyed everything. If you put out 2 hour videos daily I’d be thrilled. I’m very envious of your property and life so keep up the good work so I can live vicariously through you.....lmao. No I don’t expect a 2 hour daily vid....lol
I am of the belief That a shop that is to tidy is a shop that is not busy. & a clean shop is one that as died & got nothing to do .unlike my work shop that is untidy because i can't get & tidy it because of my arthritis , in short i have got past caring if it tidy or not . you is very clean compered to me .

Regards the content, I asked for in depth explanations. For me it would cover each different style joint, perhaps your understanding why one joint is used over another in a particular location. Maybe a cut sheet for the frame, maybe show us one complete bent. I’m wanting to take the videos and apply it to my own project which will be horses initially, graduating to a summer house a few years from now. I also like to hear your words on your lifestyle and how you came hear. Anything that your comfortable with, from funding your weeks, the sacrifices, your overview of politics/governments etc etc thanks in advance, soon be time fo me to break out your hoodie again 👍

Hi mate, bloody hell those things look strong! and they will last a lifetime. A very simple but strong and functional construction ...another great Kris build! Video style wise I think you’ve got a perfect balance with the way you do things. I love the fact there’s no music and as others have said you often hear the wildlife in the background. I’d like to see a bit more of your everyday life kind of stuff, how you maintain the land and any maintenance or monitoring of your woodland and buildings etc. Would love an update on the wind turbine too (every time I see it I’m literally blown away!!) but I do think you’re doing things perfectly, it’s definitely an armchair education for me and always thoroughly enjoyable whatever the content. Thanks as always for the effort that goes into creating these videos I know it’s a lot of work! Also saw your play button up there too congrats buddy you’ve definitely earned that!

Id love a how to series on it. And of course there probably will be bits to fastspeed, but im a passionate learner and really enjoy the way you explane and show.
I like the talking and just working on things, with occasionally showing proportions and thoughts on why you chose to use a certain technique or whatever.
With this video, I found myself guesstimating proportions and trying to figure out the ideal height for sawhorses.
Elsewhere I found the answer to the latter question, but it's a bit um, less than polite. :D
Mr.Chickadee style videos are also very pleasing, but then a lot of information I'd have to figure out myself.
Love your videos. I think your content is wonderful. For you timber frame i think the detail on different joints including the layout in different videos would be great. Great use of the off cuts.

To answer your question, I could watch you doing this sort of work for hours. So I'd be happy with any of those suggestions.
The way you are making your videos is great! I am always entertained by then even if they are 30 minutes or longer. You don't even notice it. And when they are over I am sometimes sad that they are. You are an inspiration to just go and do things even though one might not be an expert at something. I hope one day I will be able to work on some of my own project like yours in my free time in a balance with nature and always aware of usage for resources.

Chris , nice trestles, if you whack the all the pegs in as far as you can then go round again they will always go a couple of taps more .
I don't know why this is but it's almost like they need a short rest . Can't wait to see how you tackle the frame , if you have corner braces the pegs will need to draw both in and along the mortise. i.e diagonally offset from the prick mark . Cheers, from an ex framer !

My requests for your upcoming timber framing video are as follows: explain your design choices - timber sizes, joint sizes, the order of tasks, overview of load estimates, and aesthetic considerations. Also, I would be interested in those little tricks you have come up with to make things easier or avoid common mistakes.
Beautiful use of the offcuts -- those sawhorses are so solid they could serve as a trestle bridge for the trains that used to run on them! As for video format, I'd watch four that were exactly the same and not complain. You've got the magic knack for making entertaining vids, so I'm sure whatever plan you come up with will be a winner!

You've probably thought of it, but small feet on the bases will allow them to find a flat surface easier than the whole area of the bases potentially wobbling over a stone or little scrap of wood on the floor.
I've started building my horses three legged as im often not on flat ground and they sit better without rocking!
Slowly building a shed though, just need to find something to make a floor, it's just black. Sand here!!
On the subject of content, i think do as you have been, but maybe in addition, a shorter section or separate video showing details of things, sharpening, marking out, cutting accuracy, material selection etc.
Simple stuff for many but essential to as many still!!
We're all (hopefully!!!) still learning every day!!

maybe you could take us through one piece of timbers ''life cycle'' in detail, from measuring up for it, selecting the right piece, marking out and cutting the the joints.
your videos also have a laid back, kinda chill vibe even though you're doing quite heavy work. it'd be a shame to lose that side of it.
