I loved the line too but at that moment my anxiety (pun intended) shot through the roof. If Joy didn’t pull out the other Sense of Self after replacing that which Anxiety created, the message would have flopped. Joy would be a hypocrite if she had kept the original one. Just like Inside Out 1, the focus character we see grow isn’t that who contrasts Joy (Sadness/Anxiety). It’s Joy herself. The entire movie was building towards that message and Joy very nearly ruined it at the last moment… I’ve never been more relieved while watching an ending. 😌

i honestly really loved the interview with the producer + director of the film because when I was young, animated films didn't seem too deep to me other than just for our younger selves. But growing up, I found out how much meaning and thought has been given to everything, and it's so touching to hear from the makers themselves about Inside Out 2, since Inside Out 1 was released when I was younger. Now it feels like we've grown alongside the character & movie! Really looking forward to catching the movie in theatres!!! also, super proud of you

no, i think she was just doing a take at it or maybe some scenes...the voice of joy is Amy Poehler according to google (so uhm take this with a grain of salt) edit: i found out this youtuber's part was just a demo, basically an audition i assume(?) but they used Amy anyway so no, this youtuber didnt voice the part and you can kind of tell based on accent, they sound rlly different but she did rlly amazing!
