Be careful in the Australian sun - plenty of sunscreen (tick), wide-brimmed hat, light cotton t-shirt and trousers - minimal skin exposure til you acclimatise a bit more. If you miss some of that and your skin is sunburnt, genuine 100 % aloe vera gel can be very helpful, it may also help with skin allergy redness. Getting seriously sunburnt with such fine white skin can be dangerous (skin cancer, premature aging etc), the headache is probably a warning to take it easy as well. Anyway, welcome to Oz !!

I actually grew up just up the street from Lincoln's rock (although it wasn't called that until recently) and we always played there as kids before it became touristy! I relate to all the feelings you shared with us in this video so much. I've never been backpacking but travelling on your own can be so overwhelming especially when there's someone at home you'd love to have with you. It's honestly so against my nature to talk to new people and make friends and I had several situations in which I finally got over myself and tried to talk to people and got straight up rejected so my anxiety now is like 📈🥲 So nice to see that someone who struggled as well in the beginning still had such a good time, thanks for sharing the ups and downs with us :)
If you're planning on walking around in the sun, you should get a wide brimmed hat. Not only to keep the sun off but it'll keep you cooler too. Esp as you are going north. You can get a nice cancer council hat (SPF50+) for about $30 from Big W or Kmart
Next time you get fish and chips (or burger and chips) you MUST get chicken salt with them! Just ask for it 😊 If you get a burger, ask for a burger with the lot. You'll get a traditional Aussie burger, it's a meal in itself 😉
I loved Sydney. Only stopped for three nights on the way back from New Zealand but I’d love to go back some time. You were constantly adjusting your sunglasses- you could do with looking for some that fit you better.
The bird was a Brolga a crane known for its dancing. The Blue Mountains are blue because of eucalyptus oil from the trees. Hope you had a amazing time.
Also completely random but as someone who really loves the heat but struggles a lot with heat rash (and sunscreen allergy lol I'm really not meant for the sun but I love it) did you find anything to avoid it? 😅
