- Hi guys! What should you wear during winter in Korea to stay warm? A lot of people have asked me questions about how to dress for winter in Korea. It can get really cold in Seoul during the winter months, especially from late December to Early February. In this video, I will share with you how I layer my clothing to stay warm during the winter.

This is one of the videos we watched while doing some research for appropriate clothes to wear for a winter in South Korea. Thank you so much! Your suggestions helped us survive winter in Korea last December 2019! ^^
Thank you for posting this. I’m from California and going to Korea this Nov to Jan and I don’t want to be unprepared for temps I’m not used to. This helps so much ❤
This a such a great and useful video. I use heat packs that stick under clothes over my base layer and and a harmari to cover my belly over both base layers before regular clothes and down jacket, wool scarf and wool hat 😊😃
So many layers but it keeps you warm! What’s a harmari?
I got cold just watching this. I only do summer and manage perfectly fine in the cool 'winter' of the UAE😊
Excellent video with good detailed explanation. If i ever do a winter trip to seoul I'll be well prepared.
Lol! Yes it’s super cold here. I’m originally from California so winter is not my thing. ;)
I’m going to Korea next month and I’ve been wondering about that
I was happy when you uploaded this
Thank you so much
I’m glad you found it helpful!!
Omg cute!! Thank you for doing such an informative video. Could you pls do a similar video for Summer??around early june?? Thank you !!💕💕
Lol! Ok I’ll do a summer video ;)
thank you so much for this video, i'll be visiting Korea in feb. it will help me a lot 💜
enjoy your trip!
Hi ... question? if you are inside during the snow season ! What do you stock up on to get your family through winter? and How do you keep your children enterained ? and best of all what comfort meals do you prepare for your family,,,,
i live near the equator in asia so it’s ‘summer’ all year round, incredibly hot, the coldest I’ve been is to australia during winter and it wasn’t freezing so I have no clue about korea, haven’t traveled there yet surprisingly even though it’s quite close, this is really helpful thank you !
Hope you have a wonderful trip!!
Heading to Seoul on Sunday and I am not used to really cold weather. This video was very helpful, thank you,
You’re welcome! Enjoy your trip!
I'll tailor myself a fashionable decent triple layer wooled trench coats way before ahead visiting to Korea!!!
HI I am a new subscriber from U.K with mongol origin, my daughter loves korean culture and me too I watch on TV the show in KBS"The return of Superman" 👍🌟💕🌸
Lol! My kids love that show too
Omg THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO
I was having a big issue as to whether Uniqlo’s heat tech was really good and which ones i should get
Definitely the thickest ones are the warmest :)
Idk but i love ur video. U have such a likeable personality and i swear u will be big if u continue
Very informative video. I’ll be there this coming feb, i find this very helpful!
Glad you found it helpful!
When will you be doing the house tour!!! Would love to see a video!
Lol! Probably after I finish my Konmari “tidying” and decluttering!
U R such an adorable mom 😍 thanks 4 sharin 🙌
Thank you!!
I hope you can also upload regarding spring season. Thank you. Love your videos!
Hi Z, that's a great idea! I will try to do a video about it. :)
Very helpful, thank you! How is the weather and what should I wear during mid/late November?
Hi Marie, been watching your videos since they're quite informative. We are coming in early dec. Would it be better if I buy warm clothes and boots at the cheap market i saw in your other vids? My gals have their jackets but you know growing teenagers 😉
Hmm... I’d come with at least some warm clothes, maybe at least a warm fleece and a wool sweater or maybe one of those uniqlo ultra light down layers. You can buy your more stylish items here but at least have some thing “just Incase”!
Very helpful. I know a teacher who is teaching through the Epik program, and she is living in Korea; she said she can't stand the cold, so going to share this with her. :D And helpful for me over here in the US; getting quite chilly over here and snow storms coming this weekend. Keep warm and having fun, Marie. God bless yours and you! :)
Hi Melissa! Thank you!! I hope your friend can figure out how to keep warm! It does get cold here!!
@@MariesKawaiiWorld You are welcome. :D
love your videos ^^ korea is my home country and I'm going there in 11 months and your videos are helping me a lot! Thanks ^^
Thank you! This is sooo useful! So excited to go there in less than two weeks 😍
Yay!! Hope you enjoy your trip!!!
Hey Marie! Thanks so much for this informative video! Regarding boots, as I come from a tropical country and only go on a winter holiday maybe once in 2 years, I’d prefer not to invest in a pair of woolly boots. Would leather boots with Heattech socks suffice? I’m thinking leather boots are more practical as I can use them during other times of the year. Appreciate your advice! ❤️🌸
Yes I think that can work as long as it isn’t snowing!
Can you give a suggestion about wearing diving boots in winter??
I’m going to korea in February and this video was really helpful to me! Thank you so so so much! ♥︎ I really love your channel haha i watch your videos every day 💕
Thank you!! I’m so glad you found this helpful. ;). Enjoy your trip in February!!
Also going to seoul this feb, see yah!
In India where I live the temperature hardly goes down below 10°C so a jacket over any outfit works.
Thank you! This video was timely! I am preparing for my trip this December already! :)
I'm glad!! :) How fun you're coming to Korea in Dec!! :)
Thank you for this 💙🇰🇷
hi i've been watching your videos quite awhile now! i'm going to korea in the month of april, do you know what i should wear or pack on this trip? thankk you!! 💛
Hi!! Thanks for watching :) In April it will start to warm up but it will still be relatively cool, probably in the 50's and 60's (Fahrenheit). I would still wear long pants and a jacket. :)
HELP!! I'm going to Korea to meet my GF's family next week and dont leave till NYE. Is there a brand or style of coat that's in the middle of Uniqlo and North Face/Canada Goose that you recommend? I owned a Uniqlo coat a few years back and it didn't keep me warm enough for the UK winters ( so I'm imagining Korean winters are 10x colder lol)
Thanks for this video! It will come in handy to know what I need to pack when I'm in Korea for my study abroad (August- December)...... question....what's fall like?? I'm from Michigan and I go to school at Northern Michigan University in Marquette (it's basically the North Pole so it gets really cold too and the wind is horrible off of Lake Superior) but since I'll be in Korea mostly in the fall months what is the weather like around that time??
Thanks again, you guys are awesome!!! 💜😊👍
In fall the weather is beautiful! Best time of year to visit ;). It must get really cold in Northern Michigan!!
@@MariesKawaiiWorld we currently have 2 feet of snow and the wind is horrible...I get wind whip just walking to class 🙃👍...but it's good to hear that fall isn't bad in Korea!!! 😊💜
Is early March still cold ? Love this video!!!
Yes but not as bad as January. Thanks!! :)
Thank you for this, Marie! Very informative and helpful indeed!
Will be visiting Seoul on 1st March. (My 2nd time in Korea in 6months! :))
Is March still considered as peak winter?
Coming from the Middle East where our winter’s lowest is only 9degrees (and I’m already freezing), I can’t imagine how cold is -1c in Korea!
Any additional tips?
Hi Razel, March is still cold in Seoul, I would bring a warm jacket. I think February is peak winter, and march is still cold but not as freezing as Jan/Feb. In my opinion, it doesn't really get warm until May!! (I'm from California so it's not as hot as the Middle East but I have a low tolerance for cold weather).
Nice sharing ❤❤❤
Thank you! 🤗
Although I love winters I get cold easily😂😂😂 AC n I don't mix either ... But I still love winter for some reason! I hv never seen snow in my life but I want to😭😭😭 ... I was born in December,so I guess that's the reason😂.. love it whn the sun shines during winter❤️❤️❤️
It is pretty when the sun shines during winter! 🥰
why did i get to this video just now? Kawaii!!!
if i go there in winter i will look crazy me wearing hoodie:D im from finland and here is winter i usually wear long sleevs and hoodie until -15 :D winters here can be -30°c
Yes!
Uniqlo is my go too for everything on my body except shoes. PLUS they employ many with disabilities
Oh! I didn’t know that. Another plus for Uniqlo! :)
I’m going to Seoul in The Spring (Late March-Early April), is it the same temperature as Winter? Is it really freezing cold? Thank you!! ❤️
It will be warmer then - not such freezing temps but I think you will still need a warm coat!
I literally remembered when I went to China during winter time , my heat packs weren’t working so my feet were literally hurting so bad
Oh no!! My feet always get cold too
It’s nice video, but I’m still unable to find gloves for winter, mostly gloves cool down inside. Please suggest
Uniqlo?
I’m in japan right now, I accidentally overpacked for winter.
Lol! It would be appropriate for Hokkaido but Tokyo doesn’t get quite as cold ;)
yea lol I had puffy jackets in Tokyo, opps. I did go to Nagano and mt fuji so it came in handy there lol @@MariesKawaiiWorld
The regular heattech from Uniqlo that I brought for my late November trip to Seoul hardly provided heat for me even during those 5°C-10°C days 😣
The regular heat tech is not enough for Korean winters!!
Yeah Ugg boots!! 🇦🇺🇦🇺
Great video.... your videos are so awesome ❤️
Thank you so much ❤
Thanks for the advice it really helps a lot.😘😘😘
Happy travels :)
Very informative
Many thanks!!!
You’re welcome! Stay warm
How about cashmere clothing? Can it help up under winter weather..
Yes
❄️
What are the name of the windproof sweatpants, and can you get them online or in store at Uniqlo in the US?
Hi! Sorry, I’m not sure of the name.. i don’t know if it has one.
Do you really need the boots?
i'm going korea in like two weeks and I dont have any boots at the moment...
I am just planning wearing my air forces 1s
I think you’ll be ok
what is ideal to wear during mid to end of november?
Something with a similar warmth of uniqlo ultra light down should be sufficient.
I will be in seoul from nov 14-26 do i need to get a long padding jacket?
Or a wool trench coat will do?
Hello..do you have N emil in which i can ask direct questions?? Thankyouu ♡♡
Is ultra light down jacket from Uniqlo sufficient enough for temperature between -10 to 5? Of course will be paring with wool sweaters and heattech. I am asking because it seems a bit thin, but will it effect its efficiency?
I would layer with heattech, wool and or fleece underneath
Im moving to Bundang in 10 days, and I'm from Florida. I'm so worried I'm going to freeze to death lol
Is there heat packs for toddler?
I don’t think so..
I come back next week to Seoul for my 6th holiday and 1st winter, I have got plenty of warm and thermal clothing, i am a size 20/22 in australia, what sizes to look for in Seoul, i have been to itaewon but have only seen plus size mens there
Yeah, korean shops tend to carry one size fits all...
@@MariesKawaiiWorld how bout h&m I had seen online they have plus sizes there for h&m
I’m coming mid February and I’m from Canada... is it that cold in Seoul? Where I’m from it’s -30 C do you think feb in Seoul will need huge jackets?
Umm I think it’s probably wayyy colder in Canada! :)
I still wear my big jacket through mid March but I’m from California originally ... I’m always cold
hello ms marie i will be going there on january 31st hopefully. Is 3 layer clothes enough? heat tech sheer then hear tech fleece from uniqlo and wool coat ?
hi! It's not as stylish but personally, I would replace the wool coat with a warmer one that breaks the wind if you have it. Like a down jacket.
@@MariesKawaiiWorld ms marie thanks for replying but what if i all.bought wool coat can you give me an advice how to stay warm
anyone knows what's the exact product name of the pants she mentioned at 3:14? (or is it okay if i just wear a base layer + normal jeans over) thank you!
I'm not sure of the name. I think you will be ok with that! :)
I usually travel to korea in jan (e.g. seoul). I have a big long jacket (brand is eikowada). I am wondering if it would be warm enough if I just wear a regular heat tech, then a jumper/ hoodie, then the big jacket? and for legs, is it warm enough to wear lamb fabric leggings/ extra warm Uniqlo leggings, then a loose bodyfriend-jean-like trousers?
Sounds like you’ll be as warm as you can!! I’m still cold if I stay out too long but that’s the best you can do :)
How about sometime March 13-20?
Still cold but not freezing
Hi Marie
In the winter I wear thermals under my jeans and top with a jumper on top. And a wool liner coat thermal socks with boots.
Be careful with ugg boots they were reported to make your feet bad as they were bad support and people were getting bad injurys wearing them.😥
😀😍💖🎀
Hi Melanie! Sounds like you know how to stay warm :).
@@MariesKawaiiWorld it get very cold in the uk, need it even more in the snow, as we can't afford heating we go to bed in sleeping bags and duvet cover as well. So praying for no snow, 😍💖
Hey, m planning honeymoon in seoul for mid February 2020, pls tell me about the weather in dat period ?
It’s super cold, like I described in this video
@@MariesKawaiiWorld okay, great, thanks for letting me know.
Is it possible to rent a winter jacket anywhere? I'll be there in January for 1.5 weeks but don't need a winter jacket where I live...
I’ve only heard of rent the runway in the Us but they don’t have it in Korea
Usually how's the temperature at end of February, the last week of Feb. Is it still freezing cold in Seoul? What people usually wear during this time?
Yes, its freezing cold. I'd wear what I described in the video, a base layer, and a wool sweater or fleece, and a warm parka. Most Koreans wear a warm parka that is floor length and looks like a sleeping bag.
@@MariesKawaiiWorld Thank you very much 🤗
Great video, Marie. Going to Seoul in December so looking to see how cold it gets so can pack appropriately. Having lived in Canada, I’m guessing winter in Seoul is more or less the same as in Toronto. Thanks.
Yes, I'd imagine so. Happy travels!
It’s the same as far as temp, I think we get a bit more snow, Im 2 hours north of Toronto....I’ll be in Seoul for February&March (60 days) for the first time!
Your daughter really like to do exercises with you on that dance
omg i hope to go to korean
Hope you can visit someday!
*It's so hot in Singapore*
💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
👍
just go too florida
Lol! I wish :)
@@MariesKawaiiWorld lol its nice and warm
*Just go to Singapore*
Btw, is it already cold and snowing during the 2nd week of December?
It's cold but not super super freezing like it is in late dec/early Jan. It might snow... I think it did this year! But each year is different, you can't predict the snow! :)
I think people coming from Canada will be fine LOL
i cant hear anything AHHHHHHHH
I hate those baggy coats!! It'll made me look like a fresco penguin from Antarctica!!!
