You are exactly what Street Fighter needs. Someone who is willing to TEACH and not just post combo videos with Linkin Park playing over them. Great job!
Finally, a solution for the jab and landing in air medium punch into jab combo with crouching medium kick, or high kick into crouching medium kick etc. I had been using a few advanced combinations involving the pole and medium kick or hard punch off of everything. I was missing the close game, but now I wont have any issues with anti air or close combat. Thank you.
Awesome guide. I really like Rolento and how he plays in Ultra; just staying in the lab with him to really get him down. This vid is a good reference to go to for notes, thanks for posting!
Hey man, whats up! Cmon, this is the best character tutorial ever! Nicely explained, from bnb to advanced! I just got ultra to learn rolento and here I am! Keep it up! Cheers from Brazil!
fingercramp You can go back with pogo after a cross up. You have to press forward instead of backwards because you are on the other side of the screen. I thought you should know it.
A helpful tip to know that I found by accident is that knife throw seems to have invincibility on the way up and you're only vulnerable once you hit the button to throw the knife
What? The back throw is great for setups and I prefer that one, you get to the opponent with 2 dashes and have plenty of time to crossover if you want.
I think you should have talked about the Mekong Delta Attack (3 punches) more on wake up, I think its his best escape option imo, pretty hard to punish since he is airborn but delta escape is pretty good as well though. I agree that is wake up game is def not the best
Still going through the guide but cr. MP does combo into cr. MK so it can be used to go into a patriot circle combo. Jump MP -> cr. MP -> cr. MK -> patriot circle does decent damage if you're anticipating punishing a focus
I don't know why people keep sleeping on his ultra two. That shit is very sneaky if you use it right and the damage is just great when your opponent is near finished.
How is it that you say you can't go back with Pogo? As soons as i got the game I went to training to test Rolento and i was able to get back with the Pogo once i crossed up. You have to cross as close as you can and then hold forward, not backwards. Since you are at the opposite side of the screen if you press backwards you are pressing forward.
The Pogo needs to be fixed in this game I mean come on if they made it decent in SFxT moving forward and Backwards then there no reason why they can't do it here and its not like it was OP it was punishable. As for his Anti Air MP Stand it should have a faster start up or better hitbox range cause when you fight guys like Hugo or anyone that try to jump in on you it some times never comes out fast enough or hit him you just end up both getting hit and i just hate when that happens.
Try to anti Air with his standing HK then. If you are spaced right or little bit outside of the range that you would need to be to hit your Standing MP it will win clean majority of the time. That's what I use. He even said it in the vid it works. ~Tha GUYVER
His regular stinger (knives) are also projectile invincible until the peak of the jump... Also have no idea what you are talking about with the pogo control being corner specific. You can dictate the direction he goes (front, or crossup) outside of it as well after the hop. You simply have to hit them around the center of their head (or around there). Whiffing a j.RH is not really a "safe jump" either. A safe jump is where your jumping attack will hit if they aren't blocking and not doing a reversal or a move that will counter or trade for that matter. If they do a reversal, you will land and block instead. You can empty jump (which is essentially what you are trying here), but you can't safe jump a 3f reversal.
That makes sense, I figured a hit on cross up allows you to change trajectory. The point I was trying to make was whiffing the cross up pogo and he cant go backwards. Thanks for the heads up though, I wish I had more time with the title. Besides that do you think the guide is solid?
IF you block it on the pre release version he definitely wasn't plus. Was like minus 1. Ill try on the retail build. Ill make an annotation if anything
super only as an anti air? wth? naw thats some sweet damage after rekkas bro, also, you can combo U2 straight from a regular knife so you should always find a way to throw em.
Lol, disinformation in this video: You CAN pogo back after a crossup. Just hold the reverse direction since you've switched side. Also, U2 being safe on block ... uh no.
This guide could have benefitted from having two guys talking instead of just one. What if they brought a chick into this? A little spice would have been nice.

Nice video, well spoken and with a lot of enthusiasm. You obviously want to help the fighting game community!
Thanks means alot! Definitely want to get more people to see what I see!

Rolento is my favorite character.
this is the best guide on youtube... subscribed
You're the best, Cramp! This will definitely help my disabled Rolento, haha.
Great video! Wish this existed for all characters :)

Awesome guide man, thanks for the intel!
This helps a lot. Thanks for this video.

A minor detail, but nobody ever mutes training mode bgm when making guides/combo vids. Good guide though!
U gon be seeing me use rolento in alotta online matchez lol I been rocking with him since Street Fighter Alpha 2 on Snes lol
Respect!
fingercramp haha yea bruh he's a very underrated and it take some practice to get use to him
if you cross them up with the pogo you can pogo back over them, but to do it you must hold forward
amazing vid, keep up the good work :)
you can combo the knife into ultra2, as long as you do it as soon as you touch the grounds and the knife was a succesfull hit.
C-Mp has a one frame link after with Lp that u can follow up with C-mk to any combo u can think of after...
When do you think your next guide will be up? Hope it's Hugo

Let's see an Elena guide!
Great info, thanx!
When is an elana or decapre guide comin?

fingercramp But you can change the trajectory even on whiffed cross-up. You just gotta hold forward. Don't ask me why.
Thanks for this going to add a note!
Correction: Delta air raid is + on block. Ex too. Test it in training mode. Extremely good move
IF you block it on the pre release version he definitely wasn't plus. Was like minus 1. Ill try on the retail build.
Ill make an annotation if anything
fingercramp Will Rufus ex messiah kick beat Rolento's j light or trade with it ?
gimmicks characters are my favorite in any fighting game, its a shame they all fall low on the tier lists
His cr.mp shuts down hopping normals and specials with little risk due to the hitbox and priority.
im trying to get good at Rolento and he anti airs with HK more damage and more range. it works better for me than MP
what's the music in background?
THIS IS SPARTAAAAAAAAAAAA!@!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
super only as an anti air? wth? naw thats some sweet damage after rekkas bro, also, you can combo U2 straight from a regular knife so you should always find a way to throw em.
i have faced allot of yuns with rolento and funny part is i won each one
Song in video?
Why you don't talk about st.mk?
Damn, I was too focused on cl st mk. But it definitely is a awesome normal. If you got any questions I can help you out.
This guy is so jazzy.
Favorable vs Gen? What are you smoking son
i find i use ultra 2 more because the damage on ultra 1 is terrible and ultra 2 can punish ALOT of things
Victor
No antiair, no scapes, thats really bad!

dude, theres no call for your music and SF sound to be way up while you're talking.. hard to concentrate on your voice.
you cant learn street fighter , you need to feel it, than you will be a great hard fighter
otherwise you will be a normal player ...
