I think the guitar sounds a bit like early Stratovarius, but what'd you expect coming from the same dude? The band as a whole is quite neat and a majestic combo for the international metal. Very epic ensemble of inexorably skilled musicians aiming for the salvation of true metal, written without commercial purposes, at least at first. Afterall, they don't look like they need so much money.

I hope that Andre Matos don't forget some points: - Of course that he have a lot of support of fans from another countries, but I hope that he'll not forget his brazilian fans (like me). - I hope that he'll not forget the innovation that he always give value in his albuns, it doesn't matter in what band he is. - I hope (more than everything) that his solo carrer didn't end. Being ex-yourself is very shameful.
Stratovarius Again? Parece mais Angra + Stratovarius. Please NOT! Os caras parecem que tem medo de fazer algo diferente. Ritual e Virgo tinham sons diferentes para suas épocas e foram muito bem recebidos pela crítica e pelos fãs. Mas enfim né? A galera gosta então eles tem que fazer. Mas tomara que eles tenham muito sucesso em todo mundo para que possamos sempre ouvir a voz do Andre Matos por aí. Sucesso Andre!
Yeah it's unfortunate in the sense that Andre in the past has been in bands like Angra and Shaman that were very varied and innovative, but now in Symfonia with Tolkki writing it just sounds like lower tier Stratovarius. I love some of the songs I've heard but Tolkiki is almost incapable of not repeating himself anymore. He wrote fantastic songs and some of my favorite albums and guitar solos on the first seven Stratovarius albums with him, but now Strato are better without him.

I listened a lot to Angra in the mid 90s. He comes across as a very nice guy. Rest in power.

I agree with most of what you said. Strato's latest works (other than Polaris) is kinda... eh to me.
