Khanom Bueang (ขนมเบื้อง) It is traditional Thai snack which can be traced back to Sukhothai period (1249-1428), known as crispy pancakes in English.
Khanom bueang are usually first topped or filled with meringue, followed by sweet or salty toppings such as shredded coconut, Foi Thong (strips of fried egg yolks). Actually there are many kinds of toppings. But now only Foi Thong or shredded coconut or cream available for sales, as it is easier to prepare.
There is a Thai saying “Ya lalaeng Khanom Bueang duay pak” (อย่าละเลงขนมเบื้องด้วยปาก) = Do not smear the pastries with your mouth, which mean “Do not just be good at talking but does nothing”.

Apparently those squid shot was supposed to be illegal since Thai FDA were worry about eating live squid, could lead to getting sick and ill for obvious reason.
But hey most of the food here at Yaowarat A.K.A. Chinatown are good, I used to go there all the time for my mum grilled chicken recipe. Things they sell there are very cheap in bulk and the quality is just great. Thank you for giving one of our most famous place a visit, hope you have a lovely time here in Thailand.
Oh wow really, thiere was only that one stall with the squid we personally wouldnt like to eat it! Grilled chicken in thailand is amazing its one of my go-to dishes.
