I feel sorry for anyone unable to understand the pureness and elegance of a countertenor. The piece isn't virtuosic at all but he manages to submerse himself in emotion with minimal accompaniment and nail every single note. Truly the best countertenor I've come across.

I am currently learning this song as a freshman voice education major, and I have never learned Italian, but my voice teacher is teaching me how to pronounce the words to sing the song. I am so excited to learn this song and preform in front of an audience.

Perfetto attacco sul fiato, eccellente intonazione, suoni mai fissi (al contrario sempre vibranti e ricchi di armonici, un vero miracolo per un contro tenore) e per finire naturalezza ed eleganza (la tecnica eccellente non e'mai percepibile). In sintesi: sembra quasi sia stato il Padreterno a dirgli : "Vai, e canta!" ...e credo proprio di non aver esagerato...

I hope you mean that in a posive way Kerry. My son of 17 sings it just in the same hight as Mr. Jarrousky. It's a non common gift when someone is able to sing at this hight. Although their speakingvoice is very common and mannlike heavy.

The trills make the story have an emotional catharsis, the dancer move and the willingness to expose yourself is a transparency that most singers lack. You have such a proficiency in performance. I used this song to audition into the music program my teachers told me they were very impressed and a few classmates complimented me. Unfortunately I didn’t get in because when it came time to read music I panicked. Lol 😂 I wish I could go back in time and give myself a hug because everyone loved the song.

Beautiful countertenor solo. Makes me stop feeling wierd about the fact that I've been trained to sing this song in tenor clef and treble. I literally had to ask my examiner what clef he wanted me to sing in😂now I'm wishing I just sung it in treble, it would have impressed him more. Anyway I got a 20 out of 21 so I'm happy😂

Just keeping a theorbo in tune is an act of wonder! I played one for two years in college.
I'm a tenor and I sing this an octave down. So when I went to listen to this, and the voice started...I was a bit shocked!
