This reminds me of the story of Esau & Jacob . Esau as the oldest son had a birth right ( which consisted of material goods & his leadership position ) but immediate pleasure (hunger) made him sell his birth right to Jocob . Esau acted on impulse satisfying his immediate desires without pausing to consider the long term consequences of what he was about to do . Immediate pleasure often loses sight of the future . Immediate pleasure distorted his perspective and made his decision seem urgent . Just like a marriage vow might seem unimportant under sexual pressure forgetting long term effects . May God give us self-control .
