I was so stoked when Infant Annihilator dropped their latest single, 'Soil the Stillborn', out of nowhere. The moment that bass solo started, I knew I had to cover it. This one was learned entirely by ear so I'm sure there are a bunch of mistakes but hopefully you guys like it. IA's forthcoming album, 'The Elysian Grandeval Galèriarch', drops five days from now on July 29th, so be sure to pick up a copy and enjoy!

You nailed the solo, but you did get one part wrong. @ 3:42 you alternated between octaves, when you should have just played 4 to 3 on the e then pop the octave on the d string. I tried to learn this solo by ear and I find by doing that you blend with the bass easily. I’m not hating on the cover it was amazing. But I just wanted you to hear my opinion on how the solo is. Keep up the good work you’ve earned a sub
Listening back to it, I am definitely off on that part, almost surprisingly so. Guess my ear's gotten a lot better since then. Good call, and thanks for subscribing!
Linden Poirier gotta say you’re a great bassist to the point Glenn Fricker won’t hate you. I hop you get as popular as Rob Scallon and Jared Dines so Glenn and other people will stop hating on bass players. Bass is the base of metal and I just want you to inspire people to be good at their instrument. Like I said, keep up the good work and you’ll be on the surface in no time. Also get in contact with infant annihilator and see if you can play bass for them. Just be careful though Eddie and Aaron are pretty weird so it might be a little hectic keeping up with them. I’ll stop bothering you now.

Really? I can hear the bass all the way through, I found that it was actually pretty loud on the album.
I mean, yeah, it's good especially for a deathcore album. It's one of those ones where I could mostly hear by assumption, meaning that if it were suddenly playing a different part or stopped altogether I would notice the change, but that's also not a bad thing. It almost becomes part of the overall guitar tone so I kinda just take it for given, but honestly that's how it should be in an album like this with so much going on, if that makes sense
Linden Poirier I see what you mean. I am one of those people who can piece apart the music in a song, and only listen to the parts I want to. For example, when people say that the bass on Metallica's ...And Justice For All is non-existent, I can tell them for a fact that while it is extremely quiet, it is still there, because I can listen to the bass on the album through all the rest of the instruments. So I don't really find the bass and guitar blend as much as other people say they do, but I can understand where they are coming from.

Thanks man! These were a set of .136 gauge I bought from Kalium Strings - not exceptionally thick or anything. Can't remember what gauge the rest of 'em were but they were pretty standard for a 6-string set as well. Thanks for watching!

Oh nice! Trying to find nice lefties is such a bitch, especially when I play 6-strings almost exclusively. Sucks how most of them cost more than the equivalent right-handed. Got a nice custom one on the way that I'm excited to use though :)

Most parts are an octave lower than guitar, but once in a while there's a low E guitar part where I have to play the same octave :)

Nah, you're just as well off with a 5, although I think I may have used the high C in a few spots like the slap solo and the arpeggios (can't remember off hand)

Hey man! You can if you tune it to AEAD, but some of the parts, for example 2:21 - 2:25 couldn't be done in the same octave, and other parts like at 3:46 could be done but would be have to played at the 24th fret of the top string. If I were you I'd just shift some select parts like those down an octave as it'd sound fine. Lemme know if you're looking for tabs!
