    I’m on the comparison of SK-04 vs MT-54 vs MT-44. My Manfrotto is now too heavy to carry around and lately I’m more on my iPhone than my DSLR.
    Question: with iPhone at around 70% height and wind breeze, do the MT give the stability enough? Thx

    Hi James. At minute 8:12, you placed the phone horizontally on the MT44. I would like to ask, if i were to place my phone vertically, will this tripod sink? Or will I be able to lock my phone vertically at a good 90 degree angle throughout the time I shoot a video? Meaning....as i shoot long videos, will the vertical angle begin to drop from 90 degrees to smaller degree angles? Thanks!

    • @Jameses
      @Jameses  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, the MT-44 will not sink unless it has a heavy load on it which a phone isn't. Unless you plan to attach a huge light or microphone on it, it will be fine.

      Hi, if you are looking to further extend the reach then I think the MT-54 is a considerable option. Other mini tripods I like tend to slip but if you don't mind the risk also look at the MT-79.

    • @dawei566
      @dawei566 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @Jameses , Thank you for your time and a good idea too. It looks robust for an MT-79. Because the rod that I used can extend 1.5m, I am afraid if I mount together with MT-54, it can reach to the height of a coconut tree 🌴 😃 😀. I just kidding, buddy. Be happy and tqvm.

      Ulanzi MT 44 the old model had five sections & went up to 109 cmm when extended, new model has seven sections & goes to 150 cm in height. When folded they look exactly same, new model is slightly heavier than older model because of two more sections added. My new model was actually cheaper than the older shorter version, bought it from eBay, in Amazon it was more expensive! Seller gave the name 2023 Ulanzi MT 44 but Ulanzi only adds the Upgrade name on it.Yes it fits all mobile phones on it, rather say it's made for mobile phones.I would not put heavier camera on it, yes you can but but it's very wobbly!!

    I received my Ulanzi MT 44 Upgrade today. It is better than the older shorter model, doesn't sink as easily & slightly more sturdier. I just don't like the head on that MT 54 if adding a ball head on top it almost as heavy as my Sirui 5 C traveller & it's much better tripod bit like your SK 04! Just a pity Ulanzi didn't give the modified MT-44 a new name.
    Of course, if buying directly from Ulanzi that wouldn't be a problem, but many folk will buy from 3rd party sellers, like Amazon, so it would be easy to end up with an 'old MT-44' rather than the newer model. Retailers will be vague, wanting to get rid of their old stock.

      @@AureoMartelli Yes, retailers are going to try to get rid of their old stock and having the same name, this will be easy, especially as many buyers won't know there is a new version. A simple name change by Ulanzi would have prevented this confusion.

      With the kit lens should be fine especially with the newer model but anything heavier it might slide alittle. If u r not planning to fully extend it will be good for 75% of the lenght.

      @@Jameses well haha I actually plan on extending if fully. And I use it with the sigma 16mm 1.4 lenses. What other options would you recommend for my needs?

      @@lauraortizfit i use the sigma 16mm 1.4 too! I would recommend the ulanzi SK-04. It is much more stable

    awesome review, just in time. i think mt54 is far superior. but 54 is 315g and 44 is 379g, how is 44 lighter?

    • @Jameses
      @Jameses  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      There is a typo mistake, should be 573g just like my dialogue mentioned.

    Do you think ulanzi-MT-44 is better than MT-54?

    • @Jameses
      @Jameses  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      For portability and weight yes. But stability and load capacity 54 is more reliable

    I got this dumb POS tripod and when I tried to close it I broke the clips, that holds it open.

    Hi Jameses, today I stumble on something new! That is Uurig tripod, it looks like Ulanzi MT 44 but the ball head seems to be better built than on Ulanz has, better designi!! It seems to reach to 130cm in height.

    • @Jameses
      @Jameses  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That sounds good, any idea the tripod model name? Anyway, Uurig is a partner of Ulanzi and there are many brands which have the same "mold" aka copies haha

    • @AureoMartelli
      @AureoMartelli 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Jameses Hi again, I think the model name is UUrig TP-02. Their ball head don't have that stupid screw when you mounting phone on mobile phone holder, so no need to worry to scratch the phone. Better ball head design overall than Ulanzi but rest just looks exactly same, even price is very similar.Only height is between Ulanzi old & new model 130cm?! Not looking to buy, I am happy what I have just the odd thing they look so similar but hopefully Ulanzi will learn to make ball heads with better design.
