    Growing this from a tiny baby plant to this big boy truly makes me a proud plant parent. Which plant of yours have you grown from a baby one that makes you proud plant moms and plant dads?

      Must be my golden Pothos. This year is my first time ever trying to propagate, starting with golden Pothos because I've heard that it's easy to start with. The plant is not that big yet, but it has a lot of new growth, and I'm really proud of it 😁

      I grew my papyrus plant from a leaf cutting a friend gave me, so it went from being a single leaf in water to having more than 10 stems since about March. I can see you're really proud of it and it's very nice to see. take care, stay safe

      My plant that's given me the most dramatic growth under my care is my nepenthes ventrata pitcher plant. Bought her as a small hanging basket and she's grown exponentially in only 2 seasons. After much trial and error due to her being my first and only carnivorous plant, she's finally started making pitchers for me! Feeding her a fly the other day had me so excited lol

      It would have to be my Heartleaf Philodendron, which I told you before had died off completely except for one longggg vine. I chopped it up and propagated it and now I have four beautiful pots of it!!!

    I really appreciate that you stress that plants won’t look perfect. I work in a plant shop and I get a lot of people who get stressed over their plants having a tiny brown spot or a misshapen leaf, etc, and I always tell them that plants, like people, are living things and will naturally have imperfections.

    I was deeply concerned for the well-being of my young pilea peperomioides that I purchased at the beginning of this summer. He lost all his original leaves and I’ve had to basically babysit him everyday to ensure a proper recovery. I amended the soil to give him more drainage and though he was a little shocked at first, he eventually adapted and has continued to put out new growth. It has been quite the struggle but it is such a beautiful journey and it is so fulfilling to see him recover. I’m so excited to continue to care for him and watch him progress... hopefully to the level of your guy lol
    Thanks for sharing your experiences and knowledge with the world 💚

Plus those annoying little gnats wont live in the cacti soil due to being part sand, I've been putting a good layer of it on the very top for awhile now due to that

Disfruten mucho tu video. Bendiciones.

I relocated the family from a south west window to a east window 2 months ago then they dropped leaves like crazy 2 weeks ago. Moved back to a west window and only 3 leaves have dropped since. I always thought it is a must to remove them and put them in separate pots. If anyone has a basement dehumidifier, save the water. I usually put it in a large pail and fill empty gallon water jugs. Also, if you ever get 1/2 gallon containers save those too. When we run water to get hot water, we fill those and keep the lids off for a day or two to let the chlorine evaporate. Things like running the tap for hot water as well as putting hot water in a tea pot to preheat it can give you a lot of future plant water.

    Brita filters just improve taste so your tap water is probably fine. You should get a table top water distiller if you need pure water.

    When you say "cacti soil", different brands of cacti soil have different types/contents. Some brands are just 100% coco peat and call it cacti soil. So what are the contents of the cacti soil you use?

    Thank you so much for this vid. My pilea pepermioides wants to grow up to be just like yours haha. A few of my leaves curl in and now I know why. My only window is north facing and she loves it but I thought let's put her under a grow light, whoops, back to the window.

      If there happy where they are and thriving I usually just leave them. I find the can sometimes throw a tantrum when your move them to a new spot 😆

    What is your advice about bottom watering in order to decrease the likelihood of any pest at the surface of the soil?

    • @CrazyPlantGuy
      @CrazyPlantGuy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I think they’re good. Especially if you tend to over water. I prefer to top water since I’ve gotten the hang of it.

    Oh every time you show the Pilea I want one, do you think it will ship well? Looks so delicate.

    • @CrazyPlantGuy
      @CrazyPlantGuy  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm it depends on where you got it from and how well they pack it. I think smaller ones would ship ok and have a huger chance of surviving or the leaves staying intact

    Hi, I am so glad I found you, your videos are so informative. I bought a small one like the one you showed in this video and the dirt seems really, really dry. Is early February an okay time to repot? Should I go ahead and put in a 6" pot?
