Both voicing good concerns and comments!! Cheers to Eric for mentioning a well-rounded set of reasons for why work-from-home is ideal for so many of us (less time on the road, less traffic & pollution, more time with family, better productivity, less distraction, lower company costs, etc). But also, Mark, you're not wrong to question a concern for comradery, concern/interest for co-workers, etc. I do miss seeing faces, but the reality of being forced into the office is that I'd see less than 25% of the real-life faces in our company and would still sit on daily Zoom calls in order to see the rest of our peers. While I appreciate your ideals of living close to work, so many of us despise the idea of living near downtown or dealing with that area every single day. While West Seattle may seem super close to the downtown office, a regular commute would add 1.5 hrs+ to my daily schedule, during which there would be zero productivity and immensely increased anxiety, parking fees (or aggression towards cyclists, if I chose to ride a bike).
