  • As a healthcare data analyst, I'm often tasked with importing data from external sources.
Today, I break down the ETL process as simply as possible, where data gets extracted, transformed, and imported to an environment like SQL.

Another clear and simple healthcare analytics video. Glad I'm building my portfolio with your help! I did a large ETL Project between different EHR systems a few years ago as a medical scribe when my clinic was being integrated into a large hospital system

I really appreciate it. I am facing a hard time to differentiate what is ETL and what is data wrangling. Now, I think I start to see the whole picture but still need a lot of reading and watching videos. LOL

Love your use of text animation and icons/graphics. What programs and tools do you use to generate and edit these? Do you ever make high level, short videos to disseminate your key findings to internal stakeholders? Can video-making skills be part of the portfolio for a data analyst in health care given the trend toward passive learning?

Hi @nanbress7175, for these videos I use camtasia for video editing, and canva for my images/animations.
It's not common to share short videos with your stakeolders using these tools (at least in my experience, i havent done this), usually you are just presenting the results in a live dashboard.
I suppose you could though if you wanted to make a tutorial about a particular tool or dashboard for somebody at your work.
I wouldn't use it to disseminate analytical findings though, as video editing already takes a good portion of time, in addition to the analytical work it entails.
