      The US military mass causality bombing of Laos (or Vietnam for that matter) wasn’t justified, but since the Vietnam war the US military has invested heavily in smart weapon technology to avoid hitting civilians as much as possible, while still accomplishing it’s military objectives. Russia still doesn’t much care about causing civilian causalities. Also the US was aiding a recognized South Vietnamese government, while Putin just simply tried to dominate Ukraine, while much of Ukraine truly wants to chose it’s own path. Yes I am well aware much of Vietnam wanted the same thing (even if their chosen path was actually bad for them), but the US at least had a better excuse than Russia does.

    • @sulaimankhuhro8717
      @sulaimankhuhro8717 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. Military bombings anywhere and everywhere are bad. US bad and Russia bad, but Russia's worse right now because they're invading Ukraine. Not that hard to understand.
      Also the US has been making steady progress to improving their tech as to cause as little civilian collateral death as possible. Is Russia? NO. they still use cluster mines, bombing tactics that specifically endanger civilians and use incredibly unethical tactics against large civilian areas. Not even comparable in the modern day.

    I had lived in Laos, studied in Laos, and my parents worked in Laos for 3 years but now I'm back in Thailand just a few days ago... Most of the places where bombs went is near the xiengkhoung province, if you go there you will see tables and shelves made out of bombs that have not yet exploded and have been taken the explosive part out, they use bombs in all sorts of ways because it is literally just everywhere so its basically free to use and definitely cheaper than proper tables and chairs

      Same situation in some area in Vietnam. But bomb sawer (yes, saw, not defuse) use saw and soap water to cut the bomb with its triggering in half. Bomb case will be melted and sold for super profit since it is the high quality steels, meanwhile explosive can be sold in black market for even more profitable than steels. That’s why in Vietnam many people died because of this action and the legendary bomb sawer meme exists. For who don’t know what the meme is, they are rumored to defused every type of explosive even nuke in a second by just cut them in half with their saw and cast away any safety measures during this process.

With regard to nuclear weapons specifically, Russia reserves the right to use nuclear weapons: in response to the use of nuclear and other types of weapons of mass destruction against it or its allies, in case of aggression against Russia with the use of conventional weapons when the very existence of the state is threatened Russia has the World's Largest Bomber As of 2022, the Federation of American Scientists estimates that Russia possesses 5,977 nuclear weapons, while the United States has 5,428; Russia and the U.S. each have about 1,600 active deployed strategic nuclear warheads
      Russia has the most nuclear weapons of any country, at 6,257. Of these, 1,458 are active, meaning they are already deployed, 3,039 are available (can be deployed if needed) and 1,760 are retired (out of use and awaiting dismantlement )

      I mean at least the USA did this in response to a bad government being propped up. It can certainly be argued that it was done partially for the people’s freedom; living under a communist puppet regime is awful. Russia is doing this to Ukraine for its own greedy needs; to annex land.

      Nope, no they wouldn’t have. That’s like saying if only we had nuked Afghanistan, we might have won. The people of Vietnam did not want to ally themselves with the US, they wanted self-determination, which is why they promptly went to war with China after kicking our a$$… to establish their sovereignty. There are no formal war declarations anymore. The main constitutional “violation” I think you’re confusing this with is when the President unilaterally authorizes the use of force against another nation… but if they have Congressional approval then it’s about the same as a Declaration of War without the declaration.
