Guy should stop talking about war so much. Be careful what you wish for.

That’s because his dad is part of the manhattan program and their whole family benefited from war, its genetically ingrained in him that he will benefit from war. So yh, he wants war

The U.S government is too focused on maintaining ancient military bases in everyones backyard around the world. Every nation that has sought to conquer the world has always over-extended itself and that's precisely the state of the U.S today. It's overextended military operations, defense treaties, and internal political and economic crises is a tale as old as time. It's a cliche foreshadow of a nations decline. How long do you really believe this will last? We have to be honest with ourselves about that before we can maintain dominance on Ai.
So although Mr. Wang, is correct in his assessment of how far behind we are relative to China, the U.S simply isn't lean enough to make the required adjustments. It's filled with bureaucracy issues, still struggling with primitive monkey issues like race and social disorder around immigration (quite pathetic). China simply doesn't have these issues at scale like the U.S. Sure, it has it's own problems which are not small, but like Mr. Wang alluded to, their centralized power allows them move light years faster. In our "democracy", we can barely take a step forward, without moving 3 steps back after 4 years.
Also its critical to note, that China is "not your grandfathers autocracy", it's developed a new model that has allowed it's people to escape poverty. Unlike other autocratic and militant leaders like those in Myanmar, your standard dictator, the people are struggling and starving to death. China has instead utilized its resources for the betterment of the Chinese people. It's a major difference.
You need to know your competitor and you need to know yourself. America knows neither and lives in delusion, still thinks it's 1950 and still chasing the 1950's too.

China will win the AI race. Just look at the Generative AI patents filed by Chinese firms (roughly 35k) and US (under 7k).
