Hi Joe, may I suggest in your master buss, set your master fader to -6 db when playback is on, then put in the limiter at the end, with no increase with the input knob on the limiter. Place the ceiling at -1.00.....Next turn the limiter threshold counter clock wise until you reach the level (in the master buss section ) to zero. now you have the correct output level. Give it a try, works great for me in "Studio One". Different strokes for different folks !

Thought I had a mix done yesterday, but I came up against the volume problem...again! After doing some quick research I used a limiter to make some adjustments this morning, with improved volume. After watching this video I'll sit back down with the mix one more time to try to get those volumes where I want them with the limiter before I let the song leave the nest for good. Thank you.

I like the hard drum sound you can get by stacking 2 or three of these limiters. 20 to 30 ms release and 3/4 db max reduction on each of 3 limiters.
Kick and snare take a big jump forward in the mix using this in parallel with the dry signal.

you should really mention headroom and frequencies below 30hz taking all the headroom although its not perceptibly audible. There is more to increasing volume than just throwing on a limiter, which as a brick wall compressor will potentially destroy the dynamics of the song. On another note, its also very important that nothing clips pre master bus and on the master bus

Previously I was covering Thomas's ‹Victory›… it's my first time to touch orchestral music remaking, kind of too complex for me IoI, I was using another option rather than K 14, sounds always strange… after watching your video finally got some feeling about limter and sounds better.
now instruments/notes and some basic mastering are done, I believe there are more to learn, more to change… subscribe you now, thanks again!
